2020 Summer Brides / Weddings

Sofia, on March 22, 2020 at 3:23 PM Posted in Planning 0 7
Hello Ladies,

I know with everything happening around us it sure seems like a scary time. I want to pour my heart out to the spring brides who have had to either cancel or postpone their weddings due to Covid-19. I want to reach out to the summer brides, as I am one of them (August 1 to be exact) and ask you what your fears, thought process, concerns, suggestions, or opinions are in regards to either continuing or postponing your weddings.
My fiancé and I have almost everything booked, however, because of job loss or the general inconvenience of everything we are worried our guest will not be able to attend as most of them are out of state. We are thinking to give it till mid April to see if we postpone or not.
Let me know your thoughts please.
Much love,
Sofi.

August 6th bride here. We just got an email from our venue saying that as of right now we do not need to postpone our wedding. I'm seriously hoping with the heat coming soon, all this mess will be over and we'll all be able to enjoy our summer weddings! If not, we're just rescheduling for the same time next year.. but we're hoping and praying we get to keep our original day❤

At this point we’re going to just forge ahead with our planning. Come June 1st, we will see where we are and start making contingency plans if needed, and decide by July1st (getting married July 25th) if we are postponing or going ahead with our plan. We’re hoping by then we’ll be okay to go ahead, but we’re not planning on cancelling anything yet.

My wedding was suppose to be on April 4. We did reschedule it to August 8! And I have been seeing that's when a lot of the venues have been changing in the April and May dates so I'm hoping for a good outcome!

Hi Sofia! I'm sorry you're having to deal with everything being so up in the air right now. There are a lot of other couples who are also in "wait and see" mode for a little while! Smiley heart

We've started gathering resources from WeddingWire in our COVID-19 Wedding Support Central, and you can also connect with other August couples facing the same questions in this discussion:

Our wedding is August 9 and I hope that we can have our wedding. We have discussed that if we can not be married we would push it back. With this being said, I haven't ordered anything else such as flowers, invites and tuxes. It saddens me because i am hoping that everything will be alright so we can do what we need to do for our wedding. I am trying to stay positive but i am prepared if we have to push things back.
