200-250 Person Venue in DC....

Private User, on June 11, 2012 at 8:54 AM Posted in Planning 0 10

Getting married in DC and looking for a venue to hold 250 (preferably) with a dance floor without breaking the bank. (Knowing that feeding and liquoring this group will break the bank, I'd rather not spend an extra $12,000 just to rent a space, but find a venue with a food or beverage minimum that we'll definitely meet). Any ideas/suggestions would be appreciated!!!

MD or VA fine, but would want it accessible for guests (aka not Aberdeen..., but Rockville Rooftop or something fine)

Have you sed the tool wedding channel has?

You can filter out places by amount of people it holds.

Also, what are you willing to spend?

Alot of the PG County Parks, i.e Oxon Hill Manor, Newton White Mansion, have more than enough room to accomodate your size.

    Hi Ashley!

I definitely suggest getting 'recommended' vendors here on WeddingWire! Based on your answers to a few questions (budget, number of guests, location, etc.), the system will automatically populate a list of possibilities that will fit your needs!

    To start:

-Go to 'My Wedding' and click 'My Vendors'

    -Click the 'Recommended Vendors' tab

This should help you get a better idea of where to look and what to look for! You can also search directly from our homepage at www.weddingwire.com for 'Beauty' vendors in your area.

    Good luck! Smiley smile

The Bolger Center in Potomac accomidates that many people and they have an on-site hotel. Uof MD College Park's venue can open up to that many and if you're alum you get a nice discount. They were my number two pic.

Or if you just want to shut it down with the drama, the Reagan Center downtown is beautiful for weddings.

I'm going to a wedding at Newton White mansion is a few weeks. The wedding is on a Friday evening and the couple saved ALOT by doing this.

Thanks all! We are really hoping to find something close to a metro line (Arlington, Old Town, Bethesda, Rockville, DC) so that we don't have to provide transportation. And something with a rental fee below $3000

I'd check out hotels, that may be your best bet with such a large group.
