2 weddings?

Ace, on March 5, 2020 at 7:49 PM Posted in Planning 0 2

Okay, i can't believe I am putting this out here but:

My future wife and I originally didn't want a big wedding, something small, preferably on the Disney cruise. But my entire family would be travelling as they have all moved to southern states since I left high school. My family also doesn't come from as much money or opportunity to travel and vacation. It was a push to do something big home in Boston to be "worth their time and money", so we are already settled for a nice hotel wedding. Don't get me wrong, this wedding location and DJ and dresses are beautiful but I always dreamed of getting married on the Disney Cruise (that's where we got engaged!)

Is it weird to set our honeymoon one year out (we get married 10/10/2020 and cruise would be Oct 2021) and do a "wedding" there. It would just be the two of us, and although it is expensive, we both want to be Disney brides (our wedding in Boston is Disney themed!, of course).

So: has anyone done something of this sort. Call it a second wedding, a 1 year vow renewal, or two ceremonies. Am I just being ridiculous?

Not at all! Sounds fabulous. So big wedding first, then private Disney cruise vow renewal and honeymoon 1 year later? Yessssss! Sounds amazing.

    Hey there, Ace Smiley smile

You and your FW are not being ridiculous. You can totally do this a year on during your honeymoon. I would call it a 1-year vow renewal as this is technically what it is. This sounds like so much fun. If it’s something you two really want to do go for it Smiley smile
