$10,000 Wedding Cake!!!!

Can any online cake vendors/pastry chefs please enlighten me?

That is outrageous! Is it swarovski crystal encrusted? We have about 100 people attending ours and it is only $420 for a fondant covered 3 tiered cake with custom cake stand.

She is having alot of guests so there is probably going to be one cake she cuts then some other cakes to give some cake to her guest then the more tiers on a cake you have the more it costs.

IDK Y her cake is costing so much hubby and I have a little over 500 guest and our cake is only $2500.00 well maybe it's because we're getting a Tiffany Box cake big enough for 90 ppl and small Tiffany Box cupcakes for our 450 guest

I think this is a classic case of knowing how deep the pockets are for the bride's parents. 500- even at $10/slice (which I think is outrageous) is only $5000.... yikes. Makes our $500 for 200 ppl a major bargain!

I heard on the radio that just the porta-poties (i guess they are those really nice ones that have sinks and stalls in them... like an actual mobile bathroom, is costing 15,000!!!! Holy crap! I guess they are spending 3-4 million on the wedding, but the lady on the radio show made a good point... last year the Clintons made like 10 million or more in charitable donations... and Chelsea is their only child... so at least they have some kind of heart and aren't totally selfish... what gets me is that tax payers have to foot the bill for the secret service that will be there...

Idk-maybe the baker has their own staff/cake servers specifically serving/bringing the cake to the tables??? Who knows??

Actually Kelsey, the Clinton's are paying $200,000 for security. There will not be much more Secret Service than what usually stalks them...

We can complain all we want, but hey- if the Clinton's want to stimulate the economy, be all means! They can send some of the money to me if they want...

Agree with MBs Mom, they just upsell to those with the money so I am sure they will be throwing in there some extra charges and things that they do not need nor asked for.

I think that the price of her cake is crazy, but she is the only child & Daddy's got the money. I am sure her wedding will be a ballroom magical night.. but I'd never, even if I had the funds, pay $10K for a wedding dress, or cake, or even the venue. LOL.

Wow. My wedding cake is included in my venue pkg so I have no idea how much it will cost but maybe she's having something silly like tons of crystals or something on it?

I bet there are jewels in it! LOL! Every bite gets a prize!

That puts it at about $20/ slice, which I would think is actually low for a celebrity wedding cake....

Mine was $8 slice...

Well, she is going to have to make sure she has a slice for everyone, so 10k for a cake, doesn't surprise me, I like the $125 for our three little cakes better, but hey, that's just me!
