$10,000 for a wedding in AZ? Can it work?

MrsLucas2010, on April 30, 2010 at 6:39 PM Posted in Planning 0 8

Hi! I'm Alli, this is my very first post and I am just starting to plan a wedding on 10/10/10. We only have $10K to spend, but we will be hosting the ceremony and reception at my late grandfather's home in Scottsdale. It's beautiful and green with a large grass backyard, pool, huge trees and flowers everywhere. It seems impossible to only spend $10K, but thats all we have. I have found a florist (Ivy at the Garage) and photographer (Pinkerton) but they seem expensive. Any other vendors that are just as amazing but with less of a price tag? HELP Smiley smile

I think You'll be able to pull it. You have enough time to compare prices.

Yes, you can pull it off. It will take some budgeting but it is possible. There are many vendors out there that offer discounts you just have to watch for them. Even tho when you go to a bridal show they constantly send you emails thats actually how I found some of my excellent vendors half off! Keep looking it is possible. Hope this helps! :-) BTW Welcome to the site! :-)

Yes you can do it! I have a WACK load of advice on my Wedding Wire profile page, it's bunch of stuff I foun donline and things other WW Brides have thought and done to save money. Since you already have a budget, guest list is next, it's the first place you can start saving money by cutting down the amount of people, I suggest dividing the total number you want, say 150 people, divide that by three, that's 50 people, so you, your parents and his parents can invite 50 people only. I WISH we would have done that. Our guest list would of then been WAY smaller. ANd don'tbe scared to DIY!

I would say hop to it! I have the same date but I'm getting married in Tucson and I booked my vendors the beginning of this year. This is a very popular date, despite it being on a Sunday and was LUCKY that I got the vendors I wanted, which werent all my first choice. Good luck!

I agree with Star, 10/10/10 seems to be the most popular date this year and you will find that many vendors are booked. If you find a vendor that is available and within your budget you should book them ASAP.

Did you guys change your date? Just wondering b/c it says your wedding date is 11/06/2010.

Are you still looking for a photographer? Mine's great. I can send you her info.

I think having your reception and ceremony location already taken care of will save you tons of money. How many people will be at the home? It sounds like a lot of the decor is already set, too. I think it's doable!
