Greetings WeddingWire Community. I've been told I haven't introduced myself so here goes - I'm a south Florida resident of more than 35 years. My best friend and husband of 21 years passed away after a brief (4-month) bout with lung cancer in February of 2016. He left me and our 14-year-old son shell shocked. But time truly heals all wounds and I don't think my husband would want his 53-year-old widow to spend her life alone. I met my fiance, Rusty, in January of this year and we hit it off instantly. He had lost his best friend and wife of 34 years 11 months earlier and was still in the shock that the first year of widowhood does to a person. Neither one of us expected to every meet a second soul-mate, but that is what our Good Lord had in mind. We have four children between us, his daughters ages 21, 23 and 25 and my now 17-year-old son. We both thank God every single day for His plan to bring us together - neither one of us can really believe it. At our ages (I'm 56 and he is 59) we fully appreciate that today is a gift but tomorrow is not promised. We live each day to the fullest while planning wonderful celebration of our love for next July.

Happily married 🎉
