Hi WeddingWire friends! I'm Meredith Hill & I'm tying the knot with my beloved in October 2019. He popped the question at the Bristol Renaissance faire so we thought it only appropriate to get married in a medieval themed wedding. He will be in chainmail, shoulder, arm & leg guards, a tabard & sword. The Groomsmen (3 of them) are going to be in chainmail, tabards, & swords. The Honor Guard (14 guys) will be in tabards & swords. The Honor Guards will follow me & my Dad down the aisle & sit at the ends of the rows. Then, when Dave & I are introduced as newlyweds, they will stand & make an arch with the swords over our heads as we walk down the aisle. I'm so excited!!!!

We're having a medieval themed wedding; some is very old-school, other parts are more modern, while other parts are whimsical. It's going to be a mix of our favorite parts of a wedding.
Are you a tried-and-true traditionalist, or are you taking a more modern approach to wedding planning? Come tell us if you went modern or traditional in these community discussions: https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/modern-or-traditional-round-two/126ef0132f7d8f78.html

Thanks Jo! My colors are bergandy, purple, & silver. I'm sure I'll enjoy reading the artical. Thanks again!
Hey Meredith! I saw you wrote on my former colleague's wall asking about wedding colors. Have you chosen yours yet? This discussion about color palettes might help you get thinking about the different ways you can incorporate color into your big day - https://www.weddingwire.com/wedding-forums/your-wedding-in-numbers-how-many-colors-in-your-color-palette/e431d423303a8447.html

1922 days agoSorry. I hit the enter key by mistake. There's a porch with a bar in it to the side of the dining room so it'll all be at the same venu, we'll have the entire 2nd floor for our wedding & there's privet restrooms & a coat check. I can't say enough about our contact person, Eddie. He's been great to work with, has a good sense of humor & is excited to have a themed wedding there. They've never had a medieval/fantasy wedding there. It's going to be epic!
We are having a medieval/fantasy wedding so the venu has to reflect that. I found the River Forest Country Club has an upper level with a large room with exposed rafters, a large fireplace, & beautiful chandelers. This room ajoins to a dining room with the same vibe for dinner & there

My dress has lace & beading with some stone work. It has an asymetrical design to the bodice which I really like!
