  Wonderful team made for the perfect Nantucket elopement

  Dawn and her team did our July 2023 elopement florals, and we were so happy with everything. Due to a warm winter on Nantucket, the hydrangeas in our backyard, where our ceremony was located, did not bloom as planned. I was so upset! Dawn quickly pulled together a backup plan and we were so thrilled with how it turned out. The bouquet Soiree made me was so much better than the bouquet I had done for our actual wedding celebration with friends in April of this year, and the arch was exactly what we asked for. Everything was perfect, thank you Dawn and the Soirée team!

  Dawn and her team did our July 2023 elopement florals, and we were so happy with everything. Due to a warm winter on Nantucket, the hydrangeas in our backyard, where our ceremony was located, did not bloom as planned. I was so upset! Dawn quickly pulled together a backup plan and we were so thrilled with how it turned out. The bouquet Soiree made me was so much better than the bouquet I had done for our actual wedding celebration with friends in April of this year, and the arch was exactly what we asked for. Everything was perfect, thank you Dawn and the Soirée team!

  Dawn Kelly has a gift.
  
  My mom, ever the skeptic of everything, wondered whether Dawn was “more than we needed” in a florist. She, perhaps, imagined the simplicity of a Main Street mom-and-pop florist who would put together some nice tabletop arrangements and be on their merry way. It’s true, Dawn Kelly is so much more than that (although I would argue not necessarily cost-wise). And, yes, you need her! I fancy myself an artist of sorts (don’t we all?). Dawn was patient and BRILLIANT at interpreting the nonsense that spewed from my mouth about Dutch Masters and English gardens (seriously who am I and why did someone even want to marry me?). She not only developed beautiful concepts based on my ideas and helped shape my thoughts into a true VISION, she did so in an organized, straightforward fashion with pricing that ended up being extraordinarily accurate. No surprises in the end; just stunningly perfect flowers and decor. She truly designs decor for your event that goes beyond flowers down to tabletop details like taper candles, unique and eclectic vases, etc. She looks to be economical for you when it makes sense and works well. For example, she suggested we repurpose our aisle arrangements from the church on the tables during our cocktail hour. Her details — like corsages and boutonnières — were unique and helped to better define our wedding and set it apart from the rest. She is a key reason our wedding captured elements of who we really are, and she delivered above and beyond, all for what we felt was reasonably pricing. If you are hosting a wedding or major event on Nantucket, I could not recommend Dawn more highly.

  Our wedding venue (The Nantucket Hotel & Resort) had Soiree Floral on its list of preferred vendors. Once I visited Soiree's website and communicated with Dawn, I knew this was the florist to use on Nantucket. Dawn took my ideas and translated them into beautiful arrangements from the bouquet to the dinner tables and the cake topper. I loved the individual sprigs of rosemary that were used with the place settings. Soiree Floral blended vintage and classic in its floral design, which was exactly what I wanted. Dawn also helped me find a place to donate the flowers after the wedding - the senior center on the island. I hope the beautiful flowers made all those wonderful residents smile!

  Dawn from Soiree Floral was absolutely AMAZING! She did beautiful work and gave us exactly what we asked for and what was promised. We had a vision of white in mind with specific flowers and she delivered just that. She is also very good at staying within reason of your budget and being honest when something sounds too expensive based on original conversations. Her work truly made the ceremony and the receptional hall look exceptional! I would without a doubt recommend her services to others!

  Our experience working with Soiree Floral was overall very lovely. We worked closely with Julie who offered to do a walk through of our venue with us to pick out places to highlight, was super knowledgable about the venue and what kind of decorating options we had, and always made sure to have a plan B for rain. We really really appreciated the extra time she took selecting flowers, getting to know us and our style, and also helping us select the perfect placesettings for our tables!
  
  The flowers on the day of our wedding were so beautiful and exactly what I had asked for. We were so happy with the placesettings and the mixture of flowers and lanterns on our table. It was perfect!
  
  My one critique: We included a 'package' in our contract for help with things like the walk through, welcome bags, and escort table. The walk through was wonderful and so helpful but I felt they gave up on us for the welcome bags and escort table which was a disappointment. I'm sure I could have been more clear about our expectations but I just wanted help creating a really awesome, unique welcome bag and I felt that kind of fell through the cracks. We were all working under limited time and lots of stress and looking back, I should have hired a vendor specific to assist me with the welcome bag project!

  Would not recommend

  Soirée has way too much of the Nantucket business because there aren’t enough other options. I would not recommend. They are very slow to reply and they made a number of mistakes with key elements of wedding flowers. Avoid.

  I am really surprised that Dawn has positive reviews, because my experience working with her was just terrible. I think she is unprofessional and I would not recommend her to anyone. Our flowers literally could not have been worse. Every item we paid for was of extremely poor quality and aesthetic.
  
  Dawn told me that she was going to have to specially import a type of hydrangea, because the color I wanted was out of season and it would be significantly more expensive~ I understood this, and agreed. The "specially imported" and "expensive" hydrangea that was actually used in my flower arrangements was a REGULAR white hydrangea that she SPRAY PAINTED hot pink (my wedding color). You should also know that I'm a floral designer~regular white hydrangeas do not need to be imported and spray paint does not make a flower a "special and expensive import".
  
  My bridal bouquet cost $350.00 and the bridesmaids bouquets cost $95.00 each and somehow, my bouquet was the tiniest of all the bouquets. The flowers in my bouquet were supposed to be "premium" blooms, but there were literally 4 premium flowers in my bouquet. Half of the flowers were dead and should have never been used. The bouquet's wraps had staples hanging out of them.
  
  The corsages were literally falling apart before the ceremony even began. We actually had to scotch tape them together :(
  The boutonnieres each had a bunch of loops when we specifically said "no loops".
  
  After the wedding we tried to contact Dawn to talk about our concerns and 3 weeks later, she still has not returned our phone calls or emails. My mom even stopped by her shop and left a note for her to please follow up with us. Apparently, she doesn't care about providing any level of customer service once she has her money.
