As a former event planner and venue manager, I was sold on Hunter Mountain from the start. When we were deciding on a venue, I was really only looking for one thing: the right people. And even though the mountain was magical, and the ceremony at the summit was incredibly unique, and the banquet space was gorgeous, and the food was delicious… from the very beginning to the very end Debbie, Tim, Bailey, Dave, and their teams were what made our wedding day so special. That is not to say that Hunter Mountain isn’t perfect as well. The rooms were enormous, the ski lift before and after the ceremony was so fun, and the reception was everything we had hoped for. We even asked for some unique requests and they accommodated joyfully and creatively. Debbie even offered a few suggestions that became key design elements. They treated our guests and vendors with utmost respect, communicated clearly, and found several opportunities to go the extra mile in ways we hadn’t even thought to ask for. In every regard, truly, our wedding was perfect. We couldn’t be happier that we had our wedding at Hunter Mountain.

Jeff, the wedding coordinator, was so wonderful to meet with. He never tried to upsell you on anything and is honest about what you should spend money on and where you can save. The value is amazing compared to anywhere in the area and I would recommend it to anyone!!

This is the best place to get married if you’re looking for a weekend with guests in cabins. As long as you are prepared knowing this is a summer camp and you will be planning or paying someone to plan then you will love it! I knew all of this and it’s why we chose it. We had a wiffle ball game for a welcome party, field day games and our guests enjoyed the afternoon by the lake. Our photos were beautiful and the staff was very accommodating. We had a blast and would recommend Forest Lake Camp to anyone interested in a summer camp wedding!

I wanted something different for my bachelorette weekend. This was glamorous, relaxing and fun, but still budget-friendly. We decorated the tents, sipped mimosas, and started our days with yoga and meditation in the meadow. We brought in a massage therapist, went tubing at Sacandaga, and even made it to the Saratoga races. It was peaceful, playful, and unforgettable. We’ll be talking about it for years.

If stuffy banquet halls or grandiose ball rooms aren't your style, the woodsy magic of Maple Ski Ridge might be a good fit for your wedding day. Nestled at the base of a tiny mountain on the quiet edge of Schenectady, Maple Ski Ridge feels like a secret hideaway but has the convenience of a dozen bars and hotels just ten minutes down the road. The staff was incredible, especially the coordinator, Nick. From catering to our allergy-heavy guest list to helping with set up and break down, the staff is more than happy to accommodate you. While their email response time can be a bit slow, Maple Ski Ridge more than makes up for it with five-star service and their genuine, caring staff.

A magical place to host a wedding. The property is spectacular - You can have your ceremony in the fields or by the pond. The little red barn was a great place to have the cigar/whiskey barn and dessert stations. The owners were very easy to work with. We hosted an outdoor wedding for 300 and there was more than enough space for parking, ceremony, and tent reception.

Sara and John are lovely people and were wonderful to work with throughout the entire planning process. They were there every step of the way to answer our questions and assist us with decisions. Everything about The Rip Van Winkle Country Club was perfect. We loved being able to customize the dinner menu based on our preferences. We received so many compliments from guests about how delicious the food was and how wonderful the service was. The staff made sure that our ceremony site and reception was set up perfectly. It was such a relief knowing that we could trust Sara and the staff to make sure everything looked just right. They truly went above and beyond to make our day so special. There are so many beautiful places on the property for photographs, the mountains in the background provided a gorgeous setting for the ceremony and for wedding pictures. There was also a stunning sunset after dinner. We loved closing out the night with a firework display over the golf course- it was an ending that we, and our guests, will never forget!

Gather Greene was the most magical wedding venue. We loved that there were so many different ways to creatively use the space - we had our wedding in the woods among the trees, our cocktail hour on the platform overlooking the valley during golden hour, our dinner and reception in the pavillion, and our after party in the quarry (complete with a fire pit and s'mores!). We loved that the pavillion was a blank canvas that we could adorn exactly how we envisioned it would be, and the outdoor spaces are so beautiful on their own that a bit of floral elements here and there was all they needed to transform into the fairytale venue it became. Gather Greene was the only venue that we toured that allowed outside caterers, which was very important to us, as we had an Iranian wedding and serving Persian food was very important to us. Otherwise, we were very happy with their recommended vendors, and they worked seamlessly with us to make our dream day a reality. The guests raved about the beautiful ceremony site and the cabins. Our wedding was the most special day, and if we had to do it all again we would pick Gather Greene as our venue every single time!

WOW! AMAZING! BEAUTIFUL! Is the basis of everything I experienced during the planning and weekend of my wedding at Berkshire Retreat Center. The staff was amazing and always willing to lend a helpful hand! They were so kind and there whenever one of my guests needed anything. With having a non traditional wedding at a summer camp, all of my guests did not have high expectation going into the weekend. By the end everyone was raving about everything from the food, to the cabins, to the activities, to the staff. They are all still raving about how amazing of an experience it was weeks later! I am so thankful for the Berkshire Retreat Center and could not have imagined having my wedding anywhere else!
