TLDR: Amazing human. Amazing photos. Amazing service.
Signed… a LGBTQ+, neurodivergent, person of size.
Photographs are a memory made tangible. The importance of this cannot be overstated. As someone with issues with object permanence (thanks ADHD), there are so many days of my life that I have lost to time. But courtesy of photographs, I am able to once again draw up those days and revel in whatever emotion they evoke. And with 120 guests at our wedding, the memories made were plentiful. My wife and I have lived in Raleigh for 20+ years and have deep and abiding friendships from all walks of life. It's not often you get to put every human that you love in the same building, but if you get the chance, I recommend you do it and hire Amaris to photograph the shenanigans that will undoubtedly ensue.
Amaris (and her team) speak this language of memory fluently. On our wedding day in March 2023, the weather was as fickle as only a North Carolina spring day can be. Sideways rain in the morning leading to a brilliant, warm afternoon and evening. And somehow Amaris was able to make everyone look as if they were bathed in sunshine. The photographs from our day make us laugh, contemplate, and even shed a tear or two. They captured moments and memories from what was, as cliché as it sounds, the busiest and best day of our lives.
Speaking of, Amaris' time management skills are so crucial. Between her and our wedding coordinator the day was managed like a well-oiled machine as far as I could tell. Every wedding day has hiccups, but what you need is someone that works like a duck, calm on the surface, and paddling away furiously under the surface.
I could go on and on about Amaris' skill, talent, generosity and experience, but I'll leave you with this… her comfort and support on what could have been a very stressful day made all the difference. If you're looking for photography for any life event (big or small), do yourself a favor, and talk to Amaris. (Unlike a lot of vendors, she'll actually respond in a timely manner!) -

The most amazing photographer EVER
If I could give Amaris photo 10/5 I would. She vastly exceeded my expectations for wedding photography. From our first phone conversation (which lasted over 90 minutes), I knew she was the right fit. We immediately had a fun connection and I knew our special day was going to be more than just pretty pictures. Amaris walked me through each step of the planning and organizing process and did a better job prepping me than my wedding planner did. Amaris was on top of everything and had a backup plan to the backup plan. She was professional and fun and made me feel more like a bride than anyone else on my squad. I don't do well being in the spot light but she had me feeling like a goddess all day long. She took notes on my personality throughout the months of planning and she planned a surprise for us with our wedding party. Everything about the day was heartfelt and just for us. She was more than just part of the day's team and crew, she absolutely has become an amazing friend and I would MORE than HIGHLY recommend her for all of your photography needs. Oh, did I mention that she ended the night by dancing with me and my friends?! I mean, WHO DOES THAT. Someone who has a damn good time doing their job. She puts her heart into every picture and my goodness does it show. I cannot wait to get our full album back and book Amaris again for all of our families photo needs. -

I am so very glad my mom found Amaris and urged me to take a look at her for my wedding photography. As soon as I saw some of her pictures, I knew she was exactly what I was looking for and I am SO happy she was available for my wedding day. She was amazing to work with throughout the entire process and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. She was willing to meet up at a location close to 2 hours from Charleston to capture some amazing engagement/family pictures that are jaw dropping-ly gorgeous due to her skills and for my wedding day, she was a superhero. She was so helpful in keeping everyone including myself on pace as well as making sure I felt as relaxed as possible and away from the pre-wedding chaos at the venue. She captured some absolutely beautiful shots and was super flexible with my husband's and my requests such as a first look/private vow reading which resulted in some of my favorite photos. She was also the bomb at capturing perfect pictures of our active and sometimes grumpy 2.5 year old son. And to top it all off, Amaris is fantastic at getting people who aren't used to all the attention or getting pictures taken, to feel super comfortable in front of the camera. Her positive attitude and great sense of humor are infectious and most definitely is something anyone needs when having incredible pictures captured. I couldn't have been more pleased to have been able to work with Amaris and I look forward to her capturing more family pictures in the future. -

Amaris is wonderful to work with. She is responsive to emails/calls/texts, was on time on the wedding day and kept everyone organized through pre-ceremony and family photos. If you're looking for a photographer who can make you laugh and feel comfortable in front of the camera - definitely hire her! -

Amaris is amazing.
She joyful, professional, and oh so good at her job. We traveled with Amaris for our destination wedding, plus had her at our impromptu elopement and couldn't be happier.
She was truly connected to our vision for our wedding and what we cared about, and she made sure that the entire day, not just the photos, would be a success. (Seriously...she touched up my make up and gave advice on day-of planning).
Our finished products are *beautiful* and leaves us with a range of photos we're excited to put up around our home and give to family. I couldn't recommend her highly enough!
Last things - she also has an amazing team supporting her AND you, so you always feel taken care of. Amaris loves gifs and it's a given that you'll laugh every time you receive an email from her or see her in person. Use Amaris for your photography - you'll be ecstatic with the results. -

More than just a phenomenal photographer
Amaris is so talented. And a true gem. When you work with her, you're not only getting one amazing photographer with huge talent, but also an amazing human being with a huge heart for life and people. At my wedding, we had issues with our coordinator, and Amaris and her team went above and beyond to make the day run as smoothly and stress-free as possible. Amaris is such a light and brings joy with her. She captured every moment of our wedding perfectly. My dream has always been to have beautiful photos of my family in my house and she has provided that for me. She is quick to respond and will wow you with her final product.
My favorite piece of her work is how she captures so many candid moments and you can just feel the emotions through the photo. I couldn’t recommend her enough! -

Amaris is absolutely phenomenal! We hired her for our wedding and she went above and beyond what we could have ever hoped for. She’s extremely professional, yet knows how to have fun and get people relaxed in photos. We wanted candid engagement and wedding photos that showcased who we were as a couple and not stuffy, super posed, or gaggingly cheesy ones. She listened to everything and made. it. happen. Want your pictures taken on a ferry? Done. Want to stand in the freezing cold Pacific Northwest water in February? Done (and she’ll get a video of you squealing when you hop in)
Amaris was more than just a photographer. She made our wedding day run insanely smoothly and even had some surprises for us. I cherish our photos and am dying for another reason to get in front of her lens again. Our photos perfectly capture us and I couldn’t have asked for better. Would and do recommend her to anyone needing photos. You’re seriously missing out if you hire anyone else! -

Amaris is Amazing
Amaris did my bridal portraits, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day photography and I could not be more pleased with our experience with her. She was able to capture the most beautiful moments and details which mean so much. She was very interested in our vision and made sure to customize according to our needs and desires. Where do I even start with describing the wedding photography experience with Amaris? First, it is so much more than a wedding photography experience. Aside from the absolutely beautiful and on-point images perfectly characterizing the people and atmosphere of our Sept. 2020 wedding, we also came out of this experience with a forever family friend. Amaris took the time to get to know me, my now-husband, and step-daughter starting from Day 1 of booking. In developing a relationship with us, she was able to bring out our personalities in our photos. Our wedding package included engagement photos. I was originally on the fence about getting engagement photos but now I can 100% say that it was one of the best wedding decisions I made – we had a blast before and during our engagement session and it prepared us so well for wedding day. On wedding day, she pulled off the miracle of getting my step-daughter to “real” smile during photos. My step-daughter believes that she does not have a good smile and it is near impossible to get her to smile in photos without tickling her…needless to say, Amaris found another way and she looks beautiful! I think this speaks to Amaris’ ability to easily relate to people – you may have just met her but somehow you have known her forever. I don’t want to spill the beans on any of her wedding-day surprises for other couples, but just know that my entire family appreciated her and were so impressed! The result is some seriously obsess-worthy photos. I haven’t told her yet, but she’s our family photographer for life. And so much more than just a photographer! Thank you, Amaris! -
