Legacy

FH and I met June 2008 at a party at the Gaylord National Harbor.  I was with my girlfriends and he was with his bff who actually introduced us.  Before saying "hi" the first thing I said to him is "Your teeth are very white" lol.  We chatted for a bit and I gave him my number.  He said he would call the next day and he actually did!  First score! We went on our first date a few days later on July 4th.  We started with dinner at a sushi restaurant around 8pm then walked across the street for ice cream.  Right after that we watched the fireworks outside in Georgetown, DC.  Neither of us were ready to leave each other so we decided to see a movie, Hancock, where he gave me a foot massage...in the movie theater!  I think I was sold at that point.  Second score! We still weren't ready to leave each other after the movie so we sat at the monument downtown and talked for a while.  By the time he took me to my car it was 2am!  It was the BEST date I've ever had.   Third score! The next day I had brunch with my girls and told them he would be my next bf lol, who knew we'd end up getting married!   THE PROPOSAL I wanted to throw him a birthday party since he'd never actually had friends, cake with candles or a birthday song!  I planned his party with his friends, cake, favors, birthday gift...whole shebang lol.  I wanted it to be a surprise but he kept asking questions and wanting to know what the plans were, so I got tired of being evasive and just told him the details.  He was already planning to propose at his party so he wanted to know what was going down.    Earlier that day he mentioned that a camera crew would be filming the restaurant for an interview and I didnt think much of it.  We showed up and the camera guy was there filming the building.  While we're inside I see Gary walk off with the camera man and I had an idea that something was up.  I asked my friends and they acted clueless and I asked my mom who gave me the blank stare o_O.    Just as we were going to cut the cake he says he wants to talk and pulls out a full page printed speech.  He thanked everyone for coming and at that moment I noticed that he was wearing a mini microphone on his collar, so I blurted out "Are you wearing a microphone??!!"  He thanked me for interrupting him lol and he continued.  He told me how much he's been able to grow and learn in our relationship and how much he valued our relationship.  He said that he found the person he could continue to grow and learn with.  He got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife.  So the surprise was on me, although I had an idea what was going down.   Turns out he hired a videographer and a photographer to capture the evening.  We had a LOT of fun that night and it was really great being in a room full of people who showed us so much love. It was exactly what I wanted and perfect.
