JD and Janelle met in high school during an FFA event, although they had seen each other around school before, they had never really spoken until Janelle had to tell JD he was not doing his job at the Bozo Buckets. Instead of reprimanding him, the two ended up goofing off together. That was over eight years ago. In that time, JD and Janelle have grown up together - attending prom, graduating high school, dealing with long distance due to college and really long distances due to Janelle studying abroad, moving to Boston together, together deciding Boston was not the right location for them, and continuing to love and support each other along the way.
