The Coonamessett is a great option for dog-friendly hotel rooms or medium-to-large event spaces. We rented the Double Queen Suite for a weekend for our bride and groom’s suite, as it was extremely well-lit and spacious enough for my eight groomsmen to get ready with me. It was a little surprising that a room with such a large common space would have two queen beds instead of a king bed, though. The staff, including housekeeping, did a great job making us feel like guests of honor all weekend long, with a bride and groom welcome setup and several refreshes of the room while we were away. We were also able to book one of the dog-friendly rooms at the last minute, in which my mom stayed with our dog. There was lots of green space on and off the property for our dog to explore on walks. The Coonamessett also hosted our morning-after-the-wedding buffet breakfast, which we coordinated through their special events team five months before the wedding. The food was pretty good, nothing special, but was a little on the pricier side (to be expected for a wedding-related event). Since they weren’t hosting a wedding on-site that weekend, we were able to use the entire ballroom space. A couple hotel guests wandered in and grabbed a plate before we informed them it was a private event. The Coonamessett even opened the bar for our guests (my niece and nephew said the espresso martinis were good!).

On July 5, 2025 we got married at the Falmouth Museums on the Green. It was a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception (I believe now only ceremonies are allowed). Rachel was great to connect with and the rental amount was very affordable. The venue itself was a gorgeous spot and exactly what we were looking for. My only upset is we were promised the lawn would be mowed and when we arrived to set up the lawn was in terrible shape (super tall and filled with weeds everywhere)- we would have gladly volunteered to mow the lawn if we were given proper notice (and as mentioned it was told to us it was going to be freshly mowed). Unfortunately, it compromised the clean garden look we were going for and we received no follow-up after sending the email requesting someone come fix it. You can see the weeds everywhere in the photos for reference. It was definitely very upsetting and not appropriate for a wedding. However- if you are on top of them from the start about cleaning up the grass (and maybe a power wash to the deck ahead of time), you will absolutely love this charming venue.
