Chelsey Demoura of the Waypoint is acutely aware of this, and it seems this venue has made it its mission to make dream days available for a fraction of that cost. Growing up in the southcoast, I am no stranger to the Lafrance Hospitality group, but the Waypoint feels like their best kept secret, a unique little gem of a venue in this group. Everything about our experience with the Waypoint was perfect, from our initial tour, to all of our correspondence with Chelsey, at our ceremony and on the dance floor, to our final sleepy moments as our decor was packed up. We cannot be any more overjoyed with the quality of the food and drinks, the atmosphere of the venue, and the kindness of the staff. Chelsey is an amazing, kind person with a real talent for what she does. Romeiro is equally as amazing, and it was an honor to be served our wedding meal by him directly. Every staff member I interacted with during my wedding was nothing short of wonderful. Truly we will be thinking about our day for the rest of our lives. It could not have been possible at any other venue. I may be biased, but I think our wedding was the best I've ever been to. If you are considering the Waypoint, stop thinking about it and go take a tour. The moment you step in the Sea Loft, I hope you feel the magic we did.

My husband and I got married in Mexico and wanted to have a cocktail style reception for friends and family that couldn't make it to Mexico. Everything was so easy and Chelsey was amazing to work with. We did not do a plated dinner or buffet but instead passed and stationary apps. The food was amazing and the staff was great. I would highly recommend them to anyone.

Once we took a tour of the venue we fell in love with the industrial rustic vibes. Chelsey's added touches with the plants, couch and fun add ons, sold us instantly.

I hosted a baby shower at Waypoint a few months ago. Everything was perfect! Chelsey was extremely helpful and responsive during the planning phase of the event. She answered every question in a very timely manner. She was very easy to work with. On the day of the event, Romario helped the whole day run smoothly. We were able to connect to their speakers to play our playlist. He got us everything we needed and was an exceptional host. The venue was gorgeous! Definitely look into Waypoint to host your next event.

We recently got married this past weekend 11/18/23. Chelsey and her team could not have made our wedding day any smoother than they did! From the convenience of the rehearsal dinner being a Thursday, not Friday. To being able to give them all our centerpieces and other decor with limited instruction and they nailed my vision! If we ever have any functions to host in the future we will definitely be using the waypoint again!

I recently had the pleasure of hosting a Mexico-themed wedding shower for my brother and his fiancée at the Waypoint Event Center in New Bedford, MA. They will be tying the knot in Cancun, Mexico, in early 2024, and we wanted to bring the Mexico theme here for the people who would not be able to celebrate with them on the big day. I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience. From start to finish, our event was a huge success, largely thanks to the incredible team at Waypoint. The Sea Loft at the Waypoint is absolutely stunning, with the original stone walls and cathedral ceilings. The beautiful space highlights New Bedford's historic vibe, which I adore.

First and foremost, I want to give a special shoutout to Chelsey, the Catering and Events Sales Manager. She was an absolute joy to work with throughout the planning process. Chelsey's attention to detail and dedication to making our event unique and special truly stood out. She listened carefully to our ideas; her creativity and expertise helped bring our Mexico-themed vision to life. Chelsey's communication was impeccable, ensuring every aspect of our event was perfect.

The operations manager, Romario, also played a pivotal role in ensuring the event ran smoothly. He coordinated all the logistical details flawlessly, and his professionalism was appreciated. Romario's behind-the-scenes work helped everything come together seamlessly.

I can't forget to mention Mike, the bartender, who skillfully crafted delicious cocktails that perfectly complemented our Mexico theme. His friendly demeanor and bartending skills were a hit with our guests, and he kept the drinks flowing throughout the evening.

Myles and Dani, the servers, were also exceptional. They were attentive, courteous, and always had a smile on their faces. Their excellent service made our guests feel welcome and well taken care of throughout the event. Dani caught on that I do more talking than eating but made sure to cycle back multiple times to ensure I tried all the hors d'oeuvres. Myles never let a dirty plate or cup sit on a table longer than a few seconds. Their attentiveness was terrific.

Now, let's talk about the food! The custom menu created by Waypoint's culinary team was nothing short of spectacular. The Mexican-inspired hors d'oeuvres, nacho bar, and taco bar were delicious and beautifully presented. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the flavors of the cuisine, which added an extra layer of excitement to the event's theme. The queso was one of the best I have ever had, and they even found a way to incorporate plantains, which is my absolute favorite! Kudos to the talented chefs!
