The Gold Coast Railroad Museum is THE place in South Florida for a unique, one-of-a-kind wedding. The museum is located right next to Miami Metrozoo and features a variety of historical trains under a large warehouse. Its most famous train is the Ferdinand Magellan, former Presidential Rail car. Truman was famous for making speeches from this train and even held up that infamous erroneous Chicago tribune newspaper, "Dewey defeats Truman". We were married on the platform of this train. Based on the location, we went with a vintage/steampunk theme. The bridesmaids carried parasols, wore lace gloves and hair fascinators , the groomsmen wore top hats, white gloves, and walked with canes. We encouraged all guests and family members to wear vintage clothing and their "finest hats". A bagpiper provided the music for the ceremony. The railroad museum even provided train rides for the wedding for an extra fee. The museum can accommodate upwards of 200 guests (we had 100+ guests). The trains provide a great backdrop for pictures and the warehouse provides shelter in case of rain. There are two air conditioned lounge cars that can be rented; we rented these for the cocktail hour and served hor d'oeuvres and drinks. For the reception, we put rows of tables (we needed 14 tables!) between two trains. Our guests seemed to have a good time. My mother told me that she is still hearing about it - one month later. They enjoyed dressing up and looking at the trains - there was certainly more to do at the museum than a regular venue! The director and staff were extremely accommodating and flexible. No matter what our request, the answer was never "No"; it was "We'll see what we can do". The museum does NOT have a myriad of rules like we encountered at other venues. Bring whatever vendors you choose. Their restrooms are in good condition and contain about 8 stalls each. There is plenty of free parking available. Oh, and the best part? We were able to rent the entire venue, including lounge cars, for under $1,000. In South Florida, that's a bargain!

The interior is just as impressive, with expansive rooms that house captivating collections. It's a delightful blend of classic and modern, providing the ideal backdrop for any event. The U-shaped building surrounds a charming outdoor courtyard with a vintage fountain, creating a picturesque setting for weddings and gatherings. Located conveniently off Ponce de Leon, the Coral Gables Museum immerses you in the rich history of Coral Gables. The collection of historical documents and photographs is a testament to this vibrant city's journey from its inception to the thriving urban environment we see today. Working at the Coral Gables Museum was a dream come true for our catering company, Miami Grill Catering. It's not just a venue; it's a piece of living history that enhances any event. We highly recommend this Coral Gables Wedding Venue to anyone seeking a touch of timeless elegance and a dash of historical charm for their special day. It's a place where unforgettable memories are made.

The Perez Art Museum was the perfect setting for our wedding reception. Kristina V, Manager of Event Sales, was very attentive and professional. The process was very smooth and their food caterer, Constellation Catering was incredible. The Museum offers a unique experience for your guests, where they are able to enjoy the beautiful galleries and art work during cocktail hour and dine and dance on the shores of the Biscayne Bay. It is an amazing experience that you and your guests will cherish forever!.
