Due to Covid, I had to change my wedding venue location from Sevilla, Spain to Miami which is my home town. I knew that even thought we were not traveling away I wanted to keep the weekend wedding idea. I also wanted to do something that was different and out of the box. We went with the The Crown room because it was exactly that. It was the old hotel bar, so it was perfect for drinking and dancing. It also had a beautiful view, so we were able to have the dinner portion in the terrace outside overlooking the water.

From the moment we entered The Confidante we knew that this was our top choice. The hotel is beautiful in every single corner and fit my husband's and I style. We wanted elegance and glam but with a Miami vintage flair. The photos that my photographer was able to take were stunning. He had an amazing time walking us through the hotel and getting all sorts of different shots from the hotel lobby to the 1920's room. Our suite for the weekend was also breath taking and perfect for all our photos.

The staff also blew everyone out of the water. They were so accommodating for everything we wanted. Juan and his staff are the best in the industry. I planned two full weddings at this point, so I had something to compare to. They were responsive and always found a way to make anything I wanted happen. I have planned and dreamed of my wedding for years, so I knew exactly how things were supposed to go. Juan always was there to help and guide me to enhance all my ideas so that my vision would happen. The whole weekend every single staff member were there helping my guests and even my vendors. My hair and make up styling even complemented how helpful the staff was. They went our of their was to make me truly feel so special throughout the entire weekend stay.

The food was another area that was important to us. We are foodies at heart and wanted something different that wasn't just plain chicken and rice or stake and broccoli. When choosing the menu we were able to have a preliminary discussion with the chief, where we got to know us and was able to curate a menu just for us. During the tasting we had such a difficult time picking the perfect items. We ended up with a menu that we loved and had never tasted at any other wedding. It filled with elevated classics, which had a twist. Every single person found something they loved with the menu.

Overall, even though getting married at in Miami was not my original plan, it totally worked out for me. I am so happy with the choice we made. The Confidante was absolutely perfect for my wedding and it was a dream come true. ❤️

The truth is that I should've written this review 3 years ago.

We got married Feb 15, 2020, 1 month exactly before everything shut down due to Covid. And from the moment we began considering the Confidante, it surpassed every expectation. Whereas other venues on Miami Beach were extremely hands-off during the tour (which is usually your first experience with the venue) at the Confidante the tour was led by Juan Gervasio, the Events Manager, who eventually was our main point of contact for everything. Honestly, Juan might just be the best part about choosing the Confidante as your venue.

Sure, a lot of things matter when you're getting married, and that’s what makes wedding planning so stressful for some: having to coordinate all these high-importance things into a perfect synchrony of events on the actual wedding day when you, the bride, are supposed to be just “enjoying yourself.” And that’s why Juan is a gem and a lifesaver. He is professional, responsive, warm, friendly, it’s clear that he truly wants to see you have the best possible experience, he knows the venue inside and out... I felt so taken care of and I trusted his professional opinion, and as a result my wedding planning was honestly delightful. Not just the day-of, but the meal tasting, the rehearsal dinner, everything was truly exceptional. When we went in for our meal tasting, for example, we brought our parents. We thought it would be a good way for them to feel included in the planning process. Apparently the tasting can be a bit of a transactional experience for some, but Juan made it a fun and celebratory occasion for us, and we ate like kings. It was a special way to get us excited about the wedding, and our parents still talk about what a great meal that was.

At the end of the day there were several reasons we picked the Confidante: it's beautiful, we had a warm and welcoming experience during the tour, and it had that art deco Miami Beach vibe with a lot of beautiful outdoor options, and it felt colorful and friendly, but it also had solid backup options in case of rain. Lo and behold, we had a MAJOR storm on our wedding day. We had to change all 3 locations (ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception) to be indoors and Juan took care of *EVERY* last detail. Looking back, I wouldn't have had it any other way. Our wedding was beautiful (and the storm also made it dramatic, lol). Our guests later shared that they had no idea we had all those last minute changes, the whole experience was seamless (and stress-free for me, which truly cannot be overstated).

I'll wrap this up with one last comment about the other special thing about getting married at the Confidante: we get to go back! We got married 3 years ago (it's shameful that I haven't written a review in that time - forgive me) and we've been back for anniversaries and staycations. In fact, I am getting ready to head over today for another 1-night stay at the Confidante, just because. It really feels like the gift that keeps on giving.

I cannot recommend the Confidante enough. Juan made us feel so taken care of, he was so attentive to every detail, and the venue itself is beautiful and a great destination for out-of-town guests. There is not a single (not one!) thing we'd change about our decisions or that day. Juan was the event manager and venue coordinator, but my day-of coordinator was also my florist (Ever After Florist) and they worked wonderfully together.

We are so grateful to Juan and the Confidante team, you've created a memory we treasure deeply and remember longingly. Thank you!

We cannot say enough about the spectacular wedding weekend my daughter and now husband (as well as our families) experienced. Juan Gervasio, Event Sales Manager and Wedding Specialist, along with his team, made the weekend perfect! As the mother-of-the-bride, I worked closely with Juan during the entire planning process. His intelligence, experience, calm demeanor and warm nature made the process so enjoyable. He was always available via cell or email to answer my many questions. He gave excellent advice when needed. Juan was hands-on during the wedding day. He even ensured that my daughter and son-in-law sat down to eat dinner!! From the bellmen, to the front desk, housekeeping, food service, etc. all were amazing! The retro decor is so unique -- we loved the Crown Room where the cocktail hour was held! Our daughter and her husband said they were "treated like royalty" during their stay. The Confidante staff could not do enough for us. When you choose this venue, you will not regret it!

The Confidante was everything we wanted in a wedding venue. We love Art Deco, Miami Beach, and tropical aesthetic; The Confidante offered it all. The whole team we worked with was fantastic. Most specifically we worked with Juan, who did everything he could to create the day just as we wanted. We were doing an “Indian fusion” wedding and wanted some flair with the food, Juan and the chef made it happen and the food was excellent. We also went through many changes since the wedding had been pushed back 1+ year due to the pandemic. Throughout all of it, Juan was flexible, patient, and made the many transitions as easy as possible. We are so appreciative and happy that The Confidante and team were a part of our special day.

Where to start! We worked with Juan as our wedding coordinator at the hotel and he was spectacular! He went above and beyond for us before, during, and even after our event! He was responsive, professional, but also extremely accommodating and friendly. He made the wedding planning so much easier and fun! He was responsive to all of our wedding questions and needs, even when I did some major mistakes along the way.

The Confidante is the most amazing space for a wedding weekend and the PERFECT location for a destination wedding. We had our ceremony in The Vista Deck, cocktail hour in the 1930s House, and dinner on the Crown Terrace and Crown Library. Each space did not disappoint! Our guests loved every space we used and all of the details the hotel had to offer. The food was spectacular, getting all of the most amazing compliments for not only the dinner but also the appetizers during cocktail hour.

We recommend this venue to anyone who loves the beachy, Art Deco vibe! Each space can be dressed up or down for your liking and you really can create your dream wedding with the help of Juan!

We truly feel like we created a relationship with not only Juan but everyone we interacted with at the hotel as well! We will continue to make a trip to this hotel every year! With all the love, the Keddy’s!

My husband and I fell in love with The Confidante from afar (NY) back in 2018. When we came to visit, we KNEW it was the one. The hotel has SO MUCH personality and so many different spaces to utilize, each with a unique look and feel. Since we were basically a destination wedding, we were able to utilize all of the spaces. We had a boho rehearsal brunch in the 1930's, welcome cocktails in The Backyard (complete with yard games), ceremony on the Vista Terrace, cocktail hour at the super cute library bar Crown Room and Terrace, and reception in my favorite room ever - the newly renovated Carmen Miranda Ballroom. This is coming from a bride that HATED the ballroom feel for a wedding. We even had a pool party on Saturday and rented bungalows and cabanas along with cocktails and snacks for all of our guests. All of this (and more) was organized by the Juan and only -- Juan Gervasio.

Like many others, I was a COVID bride scheduled to get married in April 2020. We rescheduled twice without any real issues. I was even able to hold onto my original 2018 pricing. Anytime I had a weird or outlandish request (of which there were many), Juan handled it with true professionalism and grace (even if he was laughing at me along the way). Due to my demanding work schedule and last minute planning, I would send laundry lists of questions to Juan, at very odd hours of the night, and he would always respond as soon as he had a concrete answer to my long winded and unrelated questions. I can honestly say there isn't one thing I asked for that I didn't receive.

Our entire weekend was completely tailored to our personalities from our custom brunch and reception menus, to our ceremonial tequila shot and lounge style seating. There is an attention to detail here that I'm sure many brides would be hesitant to receive from a large hotel chain like Hyatt. But we truly felt like VIP's. My mom managed to befriend the entire events team, and they even brought her waffles to the rehearsal brunch when she *thought* there were waffles on the menu (there were not). And last minute printed papers for my officiant when needed.

Throughout my 2+ years of planning alongside the Confidante, I can truly say I gained a friend, and cannot wait to return for many years to come. Thanks again to everybody for making our weekend so special. With love, #TheFlobergs

We really loved our wedding experience at the Confidante. Our event coordinator, Kristen, and all of the staff were really accommodating and friendly. They were extremely flexible in letting us choose our event spaces and they really went out of their way to fulfill our requests and make our wedding day extra special. Everyone at the hotel was so attentive to us and our guests, we felt like celebrities.
The food was wonderful and we really loved that we were able to create a custom menu. We asked for Cuban options and Chef delivered! All of our guests agreed that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding.
Finally, I would just like to mention how beautiful the hotel is. We chose the Confidante because of how nice it looked in the pictures. It was even better in person. There were so many beautiful spaces that made for great photo opportunities. The Confidante really thought of every detail. I would highly recommend this venue.

The Confidante Hotel is truly the most beautiful and unique venue in Miami! We could not be any happier with our decision to host our wedding at The Confidante. Juan was our wedding coordinator, and I cannot say enough good things about him. He was amazing to work with. He really went ABOVE AND BEYOND to make our wedding day the best day of our lives! Throughout the entire planning process he was plugged in and working with us to bring our vision to life. We were also was so blown away with the catering team and the executive chef. They executed a menu that was true to our Cuban roots- the presentation, the taste, everything blew us and our guests away! Together with his team, Juan pulled together an event that was better than we could have imagined. I cannot recommend The Confidante (and Juan) enough!

The Confidante is the perfect Miami chic vibe! We used The Confidante as our host hotel and for our rehearsal dinner. Juan and the entire staff at the Confidante made our experience amazing! They were super attentive, prompt answering emails, and were solution-oriented. I felt that they truly cared about providing me with the best wedding experience possible and that is exactly what I got. They were able to arrange early check-ins, texted me to make sure my needs were taken care of, and went above and beyond on any of my requests. We did the Cuban-themed menu, which was amazing. The food was delicious and we received a ton of compliments!

We reached out to Juan to have our small destination wedding at The Confidante. Juan helped us move in the right direction and was responsive, professional, and informative. We unfortunately decided to cancel or postpone the wedding due to Covid, and Juan aided us in getting our refund due to the unfortunate circumstances. They were accommodating and understanding and we are super appreciative of this. We can’t wait to have a renewal of our vows now at The Confidante and we cannot wait to work with Juan again hopefully soon!!
