We're Gonna Make It

Hi, we worked with Jonah @ We're Gonna Make It and I can't recommend him highly enough. We had a family video that had to be made in a few days, with source material from iPhones, random photographers, bad videos, etc. Somehow Jonah pulled it all together, told a funny, compelling, moving story in under eight minutes (including family credits!) and turned our amateur photography into an art piece. I've worked in film for 30 years, I've seen a lot of movies and talent. Jonah is that good.

I had already selected another editor to make my child’s graduation video when I heard about Jonah’s work. Why would I want another boring chronological montage of pictures with bad music when you could have instead what feels like fantastic short film with narration from the family? At first, I resisted leveling up. Thank goodness I was intrigued and eventually hired Jonah! The next part was so easy! Jonah interviewed my husband and I for no more than a half an hour, which felt like no work for us and yet he drew out what we later thought was perfect material. Then I transferred a poorly organized file of photos and videos. Jonah didn’t blink.  I did also offer up some of the music I knew to be my kid’s favorite. One of my husband’s favorite phrases when he is disappointed with something is “…they overpromised and underdelivered again!” Well this was the first time he used the phrase… Jonah “underpromised and overdelivered!” Jonah seemed to just intuitively realize how to put everyone in their best light without it feeling like an advertisement or something less than authentic. It was also true that it felt like a short film and something everyone in the family could be proud of. He also had a nice way of including everyone and not offending anyone. Finally, I can imagine other events and purposes I might want to work with Jonah. I would recommend you dig deep to get a chance to do this. You will not be disappointed!

We are so happy with the job Jonah and the team at We're Gonna Make It did! The communication and the care with which we were handled was incredible. Jonah was attentive and got our vision and sensibilities from jump. He delivered the most beautiful final product. I rewatch the video again and again and marvel how he was able to capture our loved ones and created this piece of art that feels like being held in the hearts of all our family and friends. I can imagine my kids watching the video one day and getting a glimpse into the best day of our lives so far. I cry and laugh every time I watch it and I watch it a lot! What a gift we will treasure forever. Thankful !!!

I honestly don't have the words to express how we feel after watching the video that Jonah and the team at We're Gonna Make It made for our wedding! Let's just say my bride/wife is still crying! And I am too! I don't know how they did it, but Jonah and WGMI took all our random photos, disorganized and unmarked videos, snippets of letters, voicemails, and emails -- and somehow turned this all into a magical portal into cherished memories that we can thankfully always access with a click of a mouse. THANK YOU Jonah. We may not be movie stars, but you managed to make our wedding story cinematic and an epic love story we can't stop watching.

Words cannot fully express how grateful we are to the talented, gracious, and compassionate artist that Jonah is. It truly felt so collaborative working with him. We knew we wanted something that felt unique to our taste and he was able to share his time, talent, ingenuity and expertise to create a video we know we love for a lifetime. His willingness to play around capturing and editing more than just footage but a true story is a testament to his filmmaker’s eye. I can’t say enough how grateful we are to have his work capture this meaningful moment in our lives.
