Weddings by Deborah is a wedding officiant service located in Virginia Beach, Virginia, that serves the Hampton Roads area. Deborah is a licensed wedding commissioner who also serves as a chaplain with the Virginia Beach Police Department. Weddings by Deborah’s goal is to assist couples in designing a ceremony that truly reflects their unique beliefs and values.

Services Offered

Weddings by Deborah offers a number of officiant services to couples in the Hampton Roads and Virginia Eastern Shore regions. Those services include an initial consultation with each couple she works with, unlimited email and phone contact prior to and on the day of your wedding, design and composition of the ceremony, assistance with personalized vows, attendance at the rehearsal, officiating the ceremony, the signage and mailing of marriage certificates to the proper court registrar. Weddings by Deborah also offers vow renewal services.

Professional, and relaxed!

We interviewed several officiants by phone an Debbie was our top choice. She was easy going but professional and really focused on what we wanted for our intimate wedding. She supplied some ideas for us and let us review and make changes so it suited our vision of our weeding ceremony. We highly recommend her to others!

Thanks Deborah!

We had planned to have a friend officiate, but as it turns out, he wasn't legally qualified to (didn't meet either of the rules in VA), so we found Deborah about 2 months before the wedding. We explained the situation, and she agreed to perform the legal aspects, so our friend could perform the ceremonial parts. She was super easy to work with and very kind! Thank you Deborah!

Deb was amazing and helped us have the perfect ceremony!

We spent some time looking for wedding officiants since my partner and I are not particularly religious and were not getting married in a church but come from religious families. Deb was very receptive of our thoughts and created a ceremony that was perfect for us. She met with us multiple times before the wedding date and helped walk us through the ceremony and make any changes so we could have the perfect Big Day! We would highly recommend her to others!

Great Officiant!

Debbie is so kind and sweet to work with. She takes the time to answer any questions you may have, works with you closely so that your ceremony is just as you want it. She was on time, professional, and takes her time to make the ceremony feel special. Highly Recommend!

Debbie was fantastic!

Debbie was quick to provide us the ceremony we wanted. She met us weeks in advance (we only had a month to plan), and she responded immediately with updates as we requested. She was wonderful at the ceremony. We couldn't have asked for anyone better! Thank you Debbie!

Excellent service

Debbie Quam was very professional. She was so flexible during Covid and us having to postpone our wedding. She kept in touch throughout the process and on the day of our wedding she was great.

Hire her she's amazing!

Due to Covid my husband and I had to postpone our wedding and our original officiant was no longer available which was a blessing in disguise. Debbie is amazing and works with you to give you the wedding of your dreams by letting you customize your ceremony however you want to. Our families loved her and are still telling us how beautiful and personable our ceremony was and that wouldn't have been possible without her. Also, she went to the courthouse for us and we received our marriage license in the mail. I'm telling you, you won't regret hiring her.
