Fantastic Experience for Post-Ceremony Photoshoot
The venue comes with chairs (though most couples upgrade since they're the ugly white folding ones), but all the tables are avail for you to use. There is a set of preferred Vendors, you have to use a preferred caterer, but the rest is up to you to use anyone you wish. My one complaint was no drone footage, which we found out AFTER we signed the contract, as it was not stated anywhere on their contract.
Now the real star of the place was Tiffany, she was our contact person. She's amazing to work with, and was so responsive and sweet. She answered all my emails right away and helped us with everything. Kathleen, we met once, knows the place in and out and is strict on protecting the venue, which is understandable. Talk to Kathleen and she'll help you design the wedding layout in five seconds.
Overall, we are very happy with our experience and are glad we can return here anytime as it's a public park, to reminisce on our magical night.

Kathleen and Tiffany are top notch and everything we as a coordination team are looking for! We coordinated a wedding at Villa Montalvo for one of our couples at the beginning of April, that's right, rainy season, and they were so helpful!! Tiffany had a back up plan for our back up plan just in case the rain forecasted for that day didn't stop at noon like we were hoping. From the beginning they showed us around the venue and gave insight and ideas to make our planning process that much easier; and on the day they were just as hands on, helping to keep the estate warm and cozy for the guests and aiding in us getting all set up and tear flowing perfectly. Not only is the venue a lovely piece of history, lending to many photo perfect spots, it comes with a friendly and supportive staff too <3
There is nothing more elegant than a wedding at Villa Montalvo, and there is no better and more attentive care for clients either! Kathleen and her staff bend over backwards for their brides and grooms. I can't wait to work there again!

For couples thinking of finding a place to get married, Villa Montalvo offers multiple options and spaces to celebrate your day, from the Love Temple or the Oval Garden for the ceremony, to cocktails in the courtyard, dinner on the veranda, and dancing inside the Historic Villa. The different rooms and spaces keep it interesting for the guests, yet everything is interconnected with the same thematic feel.
As DJs, we are particularly fond of the dancing portion of the evening inside the main room of the Villa, but photographers love the veranda for shooting toasts and dinner moments, as the front of the building is spectacular, usually with great light in spring, summer, and fall evenings.
Getting married at Villa Montalvo feels like something special. If you are looking for a classic wedding at a historic site, Villa Montalvo should be on your short list.
