About

Villa Academy’s Chapel was constructed in the mid- 1920s and underwent extensive restoration in 1991. With high arched ceilings, large stained glass windows, and seating for approximately 200, the Chapel is a beautiful setting for a wedding.

Weddings at the Villa Academy Chapel are scheduled in 4 ½-hour time blocks. Generally, rehearsals are scheduled for one hour, one to two days prior to the wedding. On the day of the wedding, ceremonies will last up to one hour. This allows 2 ½ hours for photographs, florist setup, general preparations and clean up. The client is responsible for arranging the services of their own celebrant, musician(s), photographer and florist.

The Villa Chapel was the perfect place for us. I grew up Catholic and my husband grew up Methodist, and we wanted a ceremony that reflected some religious/spiritual aspects without adhering to either strictly Catholic or strictly Methodist traditions. The space is beautifully ornate as-is so we didn't even have any floral arrangements or other decorations. The staff is very helpful and friendly, and their experience helped our ceremony go smoothly. Definitely 5/5!

We had our ceremony at the Villa Academy, and feel that we found a true diamond! This is a beautiful chapel, and the school grounds have many amazing photo locations. Our guests keep talking about the ceremony and what a beautiful place it is. Their coordinator was easy to work with and flexible, and was great day-of. There is plenty of parking in the back of the school, and we had about 170 guests and filled the chapel. We had an absolutely amazing experience, and would encourage you to consider this venue!

I had some significant limitations (ie budget!) and was looking for something that would fit my husband and I as a super traditional East Coast meets casual West Coast. The Villa academy was perfect and I knew we were going to be able to save a lot on ceremony decor! Monica was really helpful and great on the day of, a little hard to get a hold of via email (better on the phone) beforehand. Everybody was really impressed, I was so pleased with how it turned out, and the pictures will look amazing!
**If you have people who are heat intolerant, I might not plan a summer wedding here. Everybody was pretty hot without A/C during our August wedding. But it should be noted Seattle generally isn't prepared for the heat. Our rehearsal venue AND our reception venue were also in older buildings without adequate A/C.

We really wanted to get married in the Catholic Church but we also wanted a place that was different. The Villa Academy Chapel was perfect. We still had to take pre-martial classes at our local parish, but the Villa also gives you the freedom to pick the Priest you want to marry you and also the timing was a little more flexible. They have ceremony times later in the evening rather than our church which required that we had our ceremony no later than 2pm since there was mass on Saturdays. Ceremony times this early are pretty typical for those who get married in a Catholic church, but I didn’t realize having a 4:30pm start time on a Saturday would make a huge difference. Starting later in the day created a smooth transition from our ceremony to reception. Our ceremony started at 6:30pm at another location. (Yikes I know!) But nevertheless it worked out great. Monica Stein the wedding coordinator was easy to work with and the chapel was beautiful. It also went along with our vintage theme. Be mindful that there are some restrictions with décor and such since the chapel is old.

I was a little worried when Monica didnt show up for our first appointment and had someone else there for us to view the venue, but she pulled through in the end and we had no problems at all :) its a perfect venue for about 120 people, not too big and not too small :)

The Chapel at The Villa Academy is beautiful! The great thing is that it can be used by any faith, you don't have to be Catholic. The only down side is if it's a summer wedding, there is no air conditioning. There is also no sound system. There is plenty of parking available.

Beautiful chapel but beware!

When we went to visit Saint Anne's Chapel, we fell totally in love with it. And it is indeed a beautiful venue for a wedding. The problem started after we signed the contract for the venue. The School decided to schedule their Stewardship Day on the same day as our wedding. That is when numerous amount of people show up, sometimes up to 100, to clean and tidy up the grounds, and they can bring heavy machinery to do so. When we learned about their plans, we did everything within our power to stop it. Heavy machinery and people getting dirty and working on the grounds was not what we envisioned for our wedding. After months of fighting with Saint Anne's, they finally agreed to change the day. But beware, they retain that right in the contract.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
