We live in Germany, and we chose Tahoe as our wedding location. Coordinating with vendors 6000 miles away can be, unsurprisingly, a bit complicated. Thankfully, Rob and M did not add to this complication. Nay, they in fact removed any complication. They are so good at what they do, that a single phone call, a few emails, and an online form was enough for them to know exactly what we wanted and to absolutely nail it. Their quick and thoughtful responses made it feel like there was no distance or time difference between us.

The actual wedding day was smooth as can be, and they both took all of our myriad requests in stride. From assisting us with our DIY videography setup to requesting a specific song from the band (with whom they happened to be friends), they were so accommodating and had a vested interest in making this the best day possible for us.

Our wedding was just as much a celebration of our community as our relationship (that’s why you get everyone together, isn’t it?), so we asked Vild to focus on taking photos that our guests would enjoy as well. They more than understood the assignment, as evidenced by the reception photos that beautifully convey motion and emotion all at once. Both Rob and M have such a knack for making what is already fun seem even more convivial. They were absolutely all over the place, capturing practically every moment being simultaneously unintrusive.

Throughout the experience, it was very clear that they know how important and special this day and experience is for their clients. Nothing exemplified this more than the fact that they had a preview gallery ready for us the very next day (a Saturday no less). As amateur photographers, we know how much effort goes into poring through thousands of photos in order to find the few great photos that exist in there, so what they did was nothing short of wizardry. Even in this small preview gallery, we could identify dozens of photos worthy of hanging as prints on our walls, as they are perfect and creative compositions. This artistry is exactly why we chose Vild in the first place, and we are so thrilled with the results.

Overall, our experience with Rob and M was incredible and we cannot recommend them enough. The only regret we have is that we don't live in the Tahoe area to have the opportunity to get to know these two more and make friends!

If you are going to splurge on a vendor, do it with Vild. At the end of the day, your wedding photos will be much sweeter after a year than that piece of freezer-burned wedding cake, and they’ll certainly outlast it. Stop looking around and book Vild now!

As an officiant, it is great to watch other vendors and see how professional they perform. Such was the case with Rob last Sunday on the Tahoe Bleu Wave at Kate and Cal's wedding. The couple and the rest of the 13 guests loved him. I found it interesting that he was giving directions to the boat captain in order to obtain the best lighting on the subjects. He had evidently prearranged such, and the captain was more than willing to accommodate him. Great job Rob. I hope we work more weddings together.

I'm a trained photographer with a degree in photojournalism. For our wedding we shopped around a ton and Vild was the clear winner.

1) Composition - This ain't Rob's first wedding. I've photographed a couple weddings for friends and did a decent job. Rob takes it to another level as if he's mind reading you and your wedding guests. The number of amazing candid moments Vild got were off the charts, including being really well positioned anticipating the candid reception hugs with our parents. In that moment Rob captured legitimately the happiest I have ever seen my dad.

2) Technical proficiency. Rob knows his stuff, and his images are flawless. He works well in that wedding season summer midday sun which is pretty harsh to shoot in, and as the light improves in the evening his work really comes alive in excellent detail in highlights and lowlights (darker areas) and super well done contrast (gives the image that extra pro look).

3) Handling the crowd and herding the cats. There's a lot of people at the wedding, and for group portraits Vild moved everyone along very professionally. The only thing I would have changed here is picking our group portrait spot ahead of time with Vild as we ended up on fairly un-even ground, so the larger group photos are quite slanted in terms of everyones heights.

4) Dance photos - As a photographer I know it's sometimes dance photos are show up with the right flash, couple settings, and you can blow people's minds with the pics. Rob brought it again to another level! Instead of using one flash on the camera like normal, he also had a second setup across the dance floor as a backlight, sort of making his own stage lighting. He then used a way to focus the flash on his camera to be really narrow, and only hit just the couple people in the center of the frame which makes the image feel really intimate and magical (see the sequin tux jacket photo in this review)

5) Nice! It was just nice working with Vild. You spend a lot of your wedding day with your photographers, and they were great to work with. I had one impromptu request to take some reception portraits in a spot more wind-sheltered, as I knew my mom with her thin hair wouldn't be happy with the original spot. Rob set it up on the fly and got one of the best photos we have of my immediate family.

We had the best experience with Vild - Marie was very responsive and was a tremendous help throughout the wedding process, especially with the timeline. Day of, Marie & Rob were AMAZING - so much so that I had guests telling me how great the photographers were. They were organized, professional and were everywhere, capturing the day perfectly. My husband and I aren’t the most photogenic people but you wouldn’t able to tell based on the photos, which were stunning. I HIGHLY recommend Vild - you couldn’t have a better wedding photographer duo!

Rob & M at VILD Photography were our "big splurge" vendor for our winter wedding on Lake Tahoe in January 2024, and they were worth every. single. penny. From a wonderful engagement photo session at Sand Harbor to our wedding at Sunnyside over a year later, VILD was with us every step of the way. They were professional and fun, got our preview photos out within 24 hours of our wedding (amazing!!) and we just got the final full album- WOW. I cannot say enough good things about them. If you're looking for the BEST photographer in NorCal region then VILD is who you are looking for. I'm SO happy I was able to book them 1 year before my wedding because they do book out fast. The day of the wedding they brought all of the fun and positive energy, all of my wedding party loved them. I'm not the best at posing for photos so I loved that they told me and my fiance how to pose and provided tips throughout the shoot.

Can't say enough good things about Vild Photography, our wedding photos turned out even better than we could have imagined. Rob + M are such a great team and went above and beyond to help us get our wedding day perfect. They are very easy to work and would recommend them to just about everybody.

My fiancé and I traveled to Lake Tahoe early for our wedding and Rob and M recommended doing an Adventure Shoot a few days before the wedding so we could explore the area and get a variety of images within the beautiful landscape. If anyone has the time to do and Adventure Shoot with VILD in itself or in addition to their wedding day I would ABSOLUTELY recommend doing so. The Coles' know the area so well and took us on a beautiful hike before sunset to the most idyllic spots. My fiancé and I were able to spend so much more time with our guests enjoying our wedding day because we had the opportunity to get pictures of the two of us a few days earlier.

We are SO SOOOO happy we chose VILD to photograph our small wedding in November.
