5 stars just isn't enough! Val goes above and beyond to create cherishable memories on your wedding day. She's on top of her game 100% of the time. There's no need to wonder, "When is my photographer going to answer my emails from two months ago!?"
I found her through a photography blog. I was attracted to her photography style, use of light, and minimal retouching. Some times I feel like photographers rely too heavily on Photoshop and not on their own skills. Val has the skills where Photoshop is not needed. I also loved the fact that she shoots primarily in film, which gives her photos an almost vintage/antique look to them. Film does take a bit longer to process compared to traditional digital, but the wait is so worth it! (And I say "wait", it wasn't too long (maybe a month?) after our wedding that we had our photos). She pays strict attention to details and is also very receptive to any ideas you have or any kind of specific photographs you may want.
Our wedding was in Florida and both Val and her husband, Matt, traveled from California to shoot our wedding. (They both came back a year later to photograph our growing family). And that's what I love about Val, aside from her photography, she becomes a friend for life.
Everyone advised me that you don't skimp out on the photographer when it comes to wedding planning. I cannot stress this enough! Val's photography is an investment worth making!
