Tom Leung and his assistant were outstanding! Using both film and digital cameras, they took outstanding black and white and color photographs of my daughter's wedding! They captured all sorts of memorable candid moments before the wedding, during the ceremony, during the cocktail hour and during the Reception! I highly recommend them for any wedding in the New York City or Hudson Valley areas!

Our experience working with Tom was beyond all expectations (and we had high ones!) for our wedding photographer. From the moment we reached out to discuss his availability, we immediately felt as if he was a friend - he sent us a lovely gift box and his correspondence was always professional and accommodating. The day of our wedding, Tom's relaxed, easy going, and comedic personality provided the perfect environment for some of the best pictures we could have hoped for. Under his confident direction, we managed our time and shooting locations very efficiently and stress-free (he took SO many photos!). Tom has a natural ability to make people feel comfortable which eased any anxiety of the day. He captured the candid moments and sheer joy of our day that tells the perfect story in photographs. Of note: Tom seemed to be everywhere at once (but never in the way) to capture so many different people/aspects/angles of each event, his use of natural light gave the photos the exact quality we were hoping for, and his style is so natural that we never felt "fake" or "posed" giving our wedding album a very journalistic vibe which we absolutely love. All this said, we couldn't recommend Tom highly enough to anyone!

First let me start off by saying that it took three days to complete our review of Tom because no words we could come up with were worthy of his talents. His genius can’t be summed up into mere words. From the very early beginning of the day to the tail end of our late night reception, Tom was on point, high energy, and motivated to get the most incredible shots. He did everything with a level of precision that was truly remarkable. Everything from the detail shots (rings, shoes, dress, etc) to the church photos to the pictures of our incredibly large bridal party were impeccable. Throughout the course of the day, Tom photographed everyone from uncooperative young children to the very elderly, and made every single shot come out incredible. Some of our pictures truly look like they belong in a magazine. Tom knew exactly what photos to get, but also let us ask if we could take additional pictures we wanted. He rolled with every punch that was thrown at him and did it with a smile. We received our teaser photos yesterday and our families are in awe at how amazing they are. Tom truly exceeded our very high expectations. Tom is the photographer to beat in terms of wedding photos!

It was such a pleasure working with Tom. His unique documentary style captured the day in a refined and beautifully nuanced way. The photos came out natural and not contrived, I am so glad to have these for years to come. Tom has a friendly, calming presence that puts everyone at ease immediately. I'm so glad I came across his work online, Tom was the perfect fit as our wedding photographer.

Without videography, Tom was able to narrate our wedding date with just photographs- his work made me feel the magic of that day all over again. The first time I opened our wedding album I was speechless. I could literally feel myself getting married again just by clicking through the pictures. Tom was able to capture all of the special moments of that day -our cries, laughter, and especially the craziness. What made everything so special weren’t just pictures of my husband and me, but Tom highlighted our guests’ personality with pictures from the best instants of the dance floor throughout the reception. With all that said, I picked Tom because his wedding portfolio shows a very natural way of shooting in which he captures not only the individual’s persona but also the occasion. Not to mention, Tom is super funny, easy to talk to, responsive and most importantly, handsome. Not only did we get amazing pictures but the slideshows for both the engagement photos and the wedding were absolutely brilliant - Tom has a good ear for music in which sets these perfectly to music that we could not be more pleased with. I would definitely recommend Tom for your wedding!

My now husband and I had an amazing time working with Tom for our engagement session and would recommend him to anyone. What first drew me to Tom was his Instagram page and website - we loved the casual, but elegant, nature of his photographs. Once we started working with Tom, I couldn't have been more pleased. Tom was prompt in responding to my numerous emails, arrived to our shoot early, and guided my now husband and I through our session with ease. He asked all the right questions and responded to my own questions with care. My husband and I were very excited to have photographs taken in our neighborhood in Brooklyn, even though it is not the most picturesque or glamorous place in the city. Tom seemed just as excited as we were and took shots in locations we suggested as well as suggesting his own. When we suggested stopping into our favorite bar to take some pictures in there, he was totally game, and ended up taking some of our favorite looks of the day. The biggest part thing impressed me about Tom was his professionalism even in adverse weather! The date that we had scheduled for our session happened to be the day we had the most snow fall this year! Even though my husband and I were freezing, Tom kept shooting (with his fingers exposed!), and never complained or even contemplated cancelling on us. Our photos basically ended up looking like winter wonderland and we were so impressed. I can't say enough wonderful things about Tom.

My photographer on my wedding day was Tom Leung and he was such a pleasure to work with!! I felt very comfortable while I was getting ready and he was taking photos, and he never rushed my bridesmaids and I, or made us feel stressed. He knew the best places to photograph at our venue Florentine Gardens and he was so creative when shooting photos of my wedding dress and accessories in my bedroom. His combination of candid and posed photos came out so beautiful and natural looking. I am obsessed with how beautiful our photographs came out! The poses and frames are simply beautiful and he captured all of the best moments! But I never once felt like he was in the way or imposing during our ceremony, getting ready, or on the dance floor at the reception. I have been to weddings where the photographers and videographers take over the dance floor and you can hardly see when a speech is being made, etc. But not Tom -- him and his partner were amazing and so professional. And funny enough -- my wedding day was the FIRST time meeting Tom! I had a different photographer for our engagement shoot because Tom was unavailable. But I felt 100% comfortable on my wedding day with Tom and trusted him -- he is professional, friendly, personable, creative, and extremely talented as a photographer based on how beautiful our photos came out. I couldn't be happier with Tom and would 100% recommend him to anyone looking for a professional photographer.

I love Tom's journalistic style, it captures beautiful moments that we might have missed during the wedding or important events. I love how those moments look so natural and genuine in his pictures. Tom is also so easy to work with, very flexible and a great listener. You can let him know what you like, he would make great suggestions to include your preferences and delivers the result. I highly recommend him if you want someone who can capture the important moments of your life.

Tom Leung Photography is incredible! From the initial conversations, to the actual engagement shoot, to the final product; from start to finish the process, and final product, were absolutely phenomenal. After spending hours researching for a journalistic/candid style of photography, we decided to settle on Tom and am so happy we did!

I will begin with the consultation process. Tom is incredibly easy to work with, encouraging, and responsive. He was happy to incorporate my ideas (for example, we wanted to include our dog in some shots) whilst also preserving his artistic point of view (which is of course why we wanted to work with him!).

During the actual day of the shoot, we felt nervous to be out and about taking photos, but Tom quickly put us at ease. It was as though we were hanging out with a friend. His candid style of shooting and easy-going personality made for a lovely afternoon and not to mention incredible photos! You can tell we are very much natural/comfortable in our photos; in fact, sometimes we didn't even realize Tom was around/snapping pics. We went about our afternoon in various locations as Tom took photos. He was not afraid to climb, crouch, get to higher ground, etc to get the perfect shot.

Periodically, he would provide direction which I found helpful, but never “posed” us. Later in our photos, I could see that this direction provided for symmetry and his vision, with the tone still very much natural. In fact, our photos display a gamut of emotions, from us laughing and having fun to intimate moments, but always stylistically done. This was exactly what we were looking for.

I cannot even truly express how amazing Tom and his work is; he is a true artist. His work speaks for itself. Our photos came out so beautiful; they will make you laugh, cry, and remember the moment. The time, effort, and artistry that went into this entire process is something we will forever cherish and appreciate. We cannot thank Tom enough!!
