    From Concept to Perfect

When we first started planning our wedding back in 2019, we were looking for the perfect venue to fit our goals and needs. We wanted a place that would be able to handle our projected number of guests, fit our style and blend of personalities. We wanted a place that would be flexible to our desired vendors, be close to hotel accommodations, places to go out afterwards, and everything in between. Let me tell you we couldn’t find anyone…. That was until we saw the renderings for this new place being built in early 2020 “The Weinberg at Wixon Valley.” We set up a visit with Skyler and Shaylor and came to the dirt & studs. Let me tell you.. we fell in love.

We walked the grounds, we listed to their dreams, and their stories. We talked about the vision, and we knew it was the place we were meant to get married. It is crazy to think about since we had toured dozens of venues that were built and had photo evidence of immaculate weddings, but Shaylie and Skyler were unmatched in their passion and vision.

Fast forward to 2020 and the global pandemic. We were constantly worried on what to do next, but hopeful by 2021 things would smooth out a bit. Skyler and Shaylie were so kind and attentive to every question we had a long the way, and when we finally made it out to the venue to see it in-person, we were absolutely stunned. EVERY detail from the screws, to the chandeliers, to the rocks in the pond; they were exactly as they had described them to us. It was no longer a rendering, it was reality… and this is where we were getting married. The Weinberg at Wixon Valley is the most incredible and beautiful wedding venue I have ever been to. The team is amazing and the sisters have got a gem on their hands.

When we finally got married in 2021, they worked with us to make sure every detail came to fruition the way we wanted. They were kind enough to help get through every hiccup and were on-site for any questions. Above and beyond doesn’t begin to describe how hard they worked to make our wedding perfect.

    Buyer Beware

Very inflexible in this COVID environment. My daughter signed a contract pre covid in Nov 19 for a Dec 20 wedding. When is became evident that COVID was still a concern and our wedding guests were not going to travel to Texas, she tried to postpone to Dec 21 but was told no even though they could have kept the money we already gave them, charge us more as prices had gone up. Not sure what they were thinking but very poor management and do not recommend. Plenty of beautiful venues in this area. My daughter is now getting married at a venue outside of Houston, even more gorgeous than the Weinberg, but much more accommodating

The Weinberg at Wixon Valley's reply:

The Weinberg has worked with all of our clients during this COVID-19 pandemic.  We were sad to see this post as we do not feel it represents a true and full account of what happened or the actions we have taken.  Ms. Gatcomb originally booked her event in November 2019 for a November 2020 date.  In December 2019 she informed us she needed to move the event due to hotel issues.  We gladly accommodated her request and moved her event to December 19, 2020.  In the Spring of 2020 when the entire country went into lock down we worked with numerous clients to reschedule events.  When the restrictions began to be eased we worked hard to take steps to ensure the safety of our clients and their guests.  Since June we have successfully, and safely, hosted numerous events.  We understand Ms. Gatcomb’s concerns regarding her event and have taken every reasonable measure to allow her to hold her event in a safe manner. We are willing and able to meet the terms of the contract and would love to host Ms. Gatcomb’s wedding on December 19th but it is her decision to cancel her event.  When we were contacted about rescheduling the event four months prior to the event we explained all this to Ms. Gatcomb.  In a perfect world we would be able to allow anyone to cancel or reschedule their event.  Unfortunately, a policy of allowing an event to be rescheduled in this short timeframe would most likely not allow us to find another client for that date.  This has been a difficult year for us too and we have felt the financial impact.  We are a small family business, we have worked long hours and lost many hours of sleep worrying about how we would be able to pay our employees and meet our other financial obligations and we continue to deal with these stresses.  That said, we offered to amend the terms of the contract and refund 50% of Ms. Gatcomb’s payment if we were able to book another event on that date.  We disagree with Ms. Gatcomb’s characterization of The Weinberg as not caring and being “completely heartless”.  We care about each of our clients, and know when we book a wedding how important the event is to the bride.
