There are not enough phenomenal adjectives to describe our experience at the Teutonia Mannerchor. Our experience from beginning to end was amazing. The ballroom is beautiful and was the perfect backdrop for our wedding ceremony and reception.

We had guests who were gushing during the cocktail hour at the venue . . and the food. So many people raved to us about the food during cocktail hour, and after dinner. The chef made one of my favorites, but everything was so delicious. The bacon wrapped scallops, the havarti cheese puffs, the potato pancake bar and the pork in mushroom sauce were some of my favorites.

While we were planning the wedding, the managers and chef had such incredible ideas on how to deal with transitions we had during the day - from ceremony to cocktail hour to dinner to dancing. In addition, all the members of the Teutonia staff were so helpful and welcoming. The servers and bartenders were so incredible and efficient. Multiple people mentioned to me that they were so happy and impressed with the service.

The venue was such an amazing selection because a lot of essentials like dinnerware and linens are included. The location in the North Side was great and allowed our guests to enjoy the city during their stay. It was also so convenient to our home in the South Hills.

The Teutonia Mannerchor is a hidden gem, and I can't imagine any other place to have started my life with my new husband and celebrate with our dear family and friends!

Stunning German Hall in Pittsburgh's Deutschtown

Teutonia Mannerchor is a picturesque German club in the North Side. It is a members-only club, and I am a member, so I am not entirely sure how the process would go for a non-member. I worked closely with the Club president and manager. Admittedly they were going through some changes due staff reductions as a result of COVID-19. They work closely with the caterer (see below), and while communications were a bit slow in the beginning due to COVID-19 recovery, Teutonia was very communicative and involved as we got closer to the wedding date. Their beautiful Sangerhalle was used as our reception room – we could set up the tables in the way that best suited our needs. We had a string quartet and were able to put them in the balcony (the Sangerhalle has amazing acoustics!). Teutonia provided the bartender and we had a bar stocked with several kinds of German beers, some red and white wines, and basic bar fare. They will stock the bar with something special as long as they get advance notice. Our guests gushed about the venue, but note that parking is tricky, and there is no elevator to the Sangerhalle since it is a historic site. You may want to reconsider if you have guests with severe mobility issues and cannot climb a flight of stairs.

I photographed a wedding here several weeks ago and it was a beautifully done event. This is a wonderfully lit classic style venue with a lot of old world charm. Perfect for an intimate wedding and moderate size reception. The food was delicious, beautifully displayed and the staff could not have been more friendly. I would be happy to work here again.
