The Sample Room is one of those hidden gems that only exists in NYC and has the most unique designer assortment at very reasonable prices. As someone that works in the fashion industry, I searched high and low for the perfect dress and was so pleased to have found it at the Sample Room! I selected the most sensational Ines de Santos runway gown which was the perfect fit. The owner Ivan has an impeccable taste level and is very kind and Martha Jurado is an incredible and talented tailor. The store has a very intimate and inviting feeling. If you are looking for a very special piece, look no further than the Sample Room!

I bought my wedding dress from The Sample Room NY and I cannot recommend them enough!!! The showroom was beautiful and they had a great selection of styles in my price range. Everyone was so helpful and sweet and I just had a great experience here. The very first dress I tried on was THE ONE, and at first when it was on the hanger I wasn't sure, but sure enough I put it on and it was perfect!! Also, I had it altered with a seamstress they have a relationship with to turn the full-length gown into a tea-length, and she did a fantastic job. Thank you so much for the best shopping experience for my special day!!

I came here as my last stop and bought a dress! It was much too big, and it was only a couple hundred dollars off the ticket price, but it was in pristine condition and very easy to tailor...so I'm pretty happy with how it worked out. They charged $50 to ship it and were VERY flexible - I had some back-and-forth about the shipping date and they couldn't have been more gracious about it.

They had a wider selection than I thought they would. I think this sort of place is just inevitably going to come down to the luck of the draw - you either find a dress you love there, or you don't. Or you do, but it's the wrong size and can't be altered, etc.

I worked mostly with Yolanda, who was great! She really helped me make up my mind, especially if I didn't like something and was just trying to "talk myself into it". I recommend her wholeheartedly. The dress I ended up buying was one she found and pulled off the rack for me. She has a great eye!

This was the 4th shop I went to. There were a lot of dresses that were too small for me here (i'm a 10 and most were 4s and 6s in my price range) but i found the PERFECT Pronovias. The dress would have been retail price of about $6k, but i got it for less than $2k!

This place was amazing. It is a sample selling venue, but it has such a nice feel and the women who work there are so nice and kind. I went back for a head piece and a veil. Great deal on a Jenny Packham dress

I went looking for a dress at the Sample Room. Although I ended up buying a dress elsewhere, I was pleasantly surprised at how helpful and lovely the staff at the Sample Room were. They were kind and explained the whole process and how their place works. This is a store full of samples, so some of them are in much better shape than others. They do not let you take photos, which we found a little frustrating, but overall they were lovely and really helpful. The prices are NOT low. There is a $500 rack, but those dresses were not in very good shape for the most part. Everything else I was interested in was over $3K, which was not in my budget. Recommended for brides looking for designer samples.

I purchased a wedding dress from the Sample Room and the store manager, Ivan, highly recommended their seamstress, Martha, to do the alterations. Martha destroyed the dress to the point multiple other seamstresses said it was beyond repair. I was left without a dress less than 2 months before my wedding. Ivan refused to take any responsibility for this and he and Martha both have not returned my calls and emails. It was a horrendous experience that I would not wish upon any bride. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY HERE

I was surprised to see so many good reviews on here. I found that there weren’t many good options and the store manager was extremely rude!
