Working with Jessica was a dream come true!! She was the only photographer that my husband and I spoke to that took the time to get to know us during the initial consultation call. We felt so comfortable with her right away and knew she was the right person to capture our wedding day. To be quite honest, Jessica was my first vendor pick. From our initial phone call to our connection now, I knew Jessica would be a part of our lives forever.
Jessica was so responsive with communication throughout our entire planning process. She answered any questions I had even the ones that had nothing to do with photography. She truly does pour her heart into her work and it shows through the lens. She is so passionate in capturing the real and the raw moments of your wedding day or any event for that matter. When she has a vision, she goes for it and you must be open in trusting the process and trusting HER in general. Jessica is not only your photographer for the day, but she is your HYPE WOMAN!! However, I do have to share this intimate moment we had with her. All brides fear any issues with their wedding dress and well my most undesirable nightmare became reality. My wedding dress was not staying put with the buttons, Jessica, the gem that she is said “Hold On!” grabbed the sewing kit and was sewing my dress with my maid of honor making sure the dress would close. That’s when I knew I made the right choice and felt such a relief knowing I had hired the best of the best.

I fell in love with her photos when I came across her instagram page, but little did I know that later I would find out that the woman behind the photos is just as amazing. Not only do you receive the most STUNNING photos when you hire Jess, you receive a friend, a confidante, and a shoulder to lean on! She listens to your every wish - but trust in her talent! If I had to do my wedding over again - I would pick Jess every time. I mean just look at these photos. The photographer was one of the most important things to me in planning our wedding. I was nervous that I would be too much because I had so many ideas of what I wanted (and I wanted allllll of the details and lots of pictures) – that all went out the window after the first conversation with Jessica. I felt like I didn’t have anything to worry about and decided to not even give a list of “must have” pictures because I was so confident in her and her talent. When I found The Picture Cottage’s webpage, I literally started tearing up looking at her pictures. The first thing I noticed were the emotions and life that she captured in her photos! Words can not express how amazing Jessica and her team is. But not only wedding day, Jessica is always there for advice. She is the best photographer ever and she is kind, funny, outgoing, it’s almost like having a big sister taking pictures of you on your wedding day. I also took my engagement pictures with her and she really makes you feel comfortable and not awkward at all. She is very punctual and if you need her for anything she is there. She even helped bustle my wedding dress more than once during my wedding. She does it all hahahahaha! She is very talented in what she does and she does it with love. The second photographer on wedding day was also great and very sweet :)

Guys! The Picture Cottage is AMAZING! We initially fell in love with her pictures because of her style, she is very organic and candid (which I love)..& her pictures are just freaking beautiful!! During our first phone call, she gave us all the information we needed and then she just wanted to get to know us, which my husband and I really liked. With our picture package we were given an engagement shoot, this is where my husband and I really got to know who Jessica. We did something crazy, and decided to fly Jessica out to Utah for a day to get some really kick ass engagement pictures. My husband and I had never been to Utah before, so we had looked up some places and ended up on a GORGEOUS mountain that provided such breathtaking scenery. Jessica was down for whatever, I mean WHATEVER! She totally froze her ass off for us. It was an experience I will forever remember and I’m so glad she was there to capture it all. Moving forward, to my boudoir shoot! I wanted to do something different for my husband for a wedding gift on top of just giving him a bottle of whiskey. I was talking to Jessica about it and she told me about the boudior pictures. Initially, I was a for sure NO because I’m so shy, but the more we discussed it, the more comfortable I felt. During the shoot, she is your number one fan girl, which makes you feel so much better about yourself. If you do a shoot like this you really need someone who’s going to boost up your self-esteem to get you those awesome pics AND Jessica is that photographer! Our last stop, the wedding. Due to Covid we had a lot of hiccups but we were set on our date. Throughout the entire wedding process Jessica was there for everything. Not just photography related stuff but seriously anything and everything. Our church had canceled on us and I went into straight panic, and when I talked to Jess about it she put everything down to help me come up with Plan B. She’s not just your wedding photographer, she will be your rock through it all. The day of the wedding she came with her assistant, her assistant went with my husband and she stayed with me during the get ready time. We got some amazing get ready with me pictures, and had so much fun during those shots. And she was totally OK with me drenching her in Champaign, lol, sorry Jess! My husband and I did the first look, we initially weren’t sold on it and really wanted to see each other at the church for the first time, but due to the time change in November it gets really dark early on so we talked to Jessica about it and she suggested the first look to us, no pressure just a recommendation. We agreed, and don’t regret it not even for a second. The first look was probably my most favorite time during the whole day. It was very intimate and so much fun! My husband and I got our best pictures during the first look. I truly recommend it after doing it. That day, we got every single shot I wanted, if you tell her the shots that you want- you’re guaranteed to get them. We ran a little behind on time and at the end of the night and I had an Hora Loca surprise for my husband and we asked Jessica to stay for an extra 30 minutes and without hesitation she did. We were so blessed with such an amazing photographer and now Friend. We can’t recommend The Picture Cottage enough if you want an amazing experience with an amazing photographer on your wedding day. I promise The Picture Cottage will deliver and exceed your expectations.

Where to start, SIMPLY THE BEST! Working with Jessica and The Picture Cottage was an absolute pleasure. From the very first meeting, Jessica was extremely responsive and attentive throughout the whole process. Jessica was not only a photographer but also an all around invaluable resource throughout the entire wedding process. Upon looking at The Picture Cottage’s Instagram we fell in love with her style and ability to take candid photos. We winded up doing an engagement shoot and photobooth in addition to our wedding day coverage and couldn’t be happier with the results! Jessica was able to help with our timeline and made sure to capture ALL the special moments of our big day. It winded up raining during the wedding but Jessica was able to capture some of the most beautiful unscripted and natural photos as we scrambled for shelter. We were able to book an additional bridal shoot a month later and Jessica worked tirelessly to find my wife hair and makeup when the make up artist had to cancel last minute. Jessica and her assistant went above and beyond the attend to to our needs throughout our entire wedding day and worked with all the other vendors seamlessly. Upon receiving our photos all we can say is WOW! The pictures just jumped off the screen, catching all the emotion of our big day and then some. We also were delighted to see all the variation in the photos captured from the morning to dancing the night away. As far as photographers go I wouldn’t look look any further than The Picture Cottage, not only for quality also for a stress free experience. We could not be more grateful for Jessica’s patience, work ethic, compassion and understanding throughout the entire wedding process!

It honestly feels funny writing a "review" for our photographer because Jessica wasn't just our photographer, she is one of the quickest friends I've ever made. I found Jessica on The Knot, reached out to her, and she immediately gave me her number so we could start texting and set up a phone call. I knew from the moment we connected over the phone that she would be reliable, dedicated, trustworthy, SO talented and experienced, and just an all-around wonderful, comfortable, and kind person to work with. And oh man was that reflected the day of our engagement shoot AND our wedding day. She helped us decide on every detail we thought was important for our photographer right down from the day-of timeline, to which dress I should wear for the engagement photos. The moment Jessica walked up to the bridal suite the day of too, I had a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. Just her presence is calming and cheerful :) It's important to hire a photographer that you feel comfortable with, but that can obviously create quality photos too! Which is exactly why you need to hire Jessica. She is not only helpful, selfless, professional, honest, and trustworthy, she is SO INCREDIBLY TALENTED.
