The Oviatt is an Art Deco dream penthouse and rooftop two-level terrace wedding venue in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Chic and sophisticated, the luxurious then residence was originally built in 1928 as a lavish penthouse for roaring 20's king, James Oviatt. In honor and preservation of The Oviatt's history and ornate charm, the space continues to welcome celebration. good times, and once-in-a-lifetime parties.

Facilities and Capacity

Defined by its opulent ambiance, The Oviatt exudes an authentic sense of old-world charm and luxury. Inside the penthouse couples will find a study, living room for gathering, an elegant bedroom used typically as a "getting ready room," and a true Art Deco bar and cocktail lounge. Outside overlooking the DTLA city lights, couples usually say "I do" and throw a big dinner and dance party on the two-story rooftop terrace.

Interior features include Lalique glass decor, mahogany furniture, parquet wood floors, and many carved woodworks. Despite a seemingly niche aesthetic, the rooms have a high degree of flexibility for you to incorporate your own sense of style. Outside, the terrace is spacious and provides panoramic views of Downtown Los Angeles surrounded by city lights once the sun sets.

Services Offered

The Oviatt Event Team: The Oviatt has an experienced event management team that will work with attentive care to ensure planning up to the day you say I do is seamless. After your date and wedding is confirmed, The Oviatt event team will provide a Welcome Kit that will guide your planning experience and provide clear understanding of what services are available.

Furniture & Equipment Rentals: When you choose to celebrate at The Oviatt, you have access to an array of event items like banquet tables and black linens. Please inquire directly if you are interested in learning more about what The Oviatt offers to it's private and wedding event hosts and guests. Outside rentals are welcome.

Bar and Culinary: Bar programming must remain in-house. For culinary experiences and catering, The Oviatt invites couples to inquire with The Oviatt event team for the preferred partner list or encourage outside catering if that is the preference.

Outside Vendors: The Oviatt welcomes outside vendors. Please inquire directly regarding policies and procedures for outside vendors.

Stunning Rooftop Wedding

Having my wedding at the Oviatt was the best decision I made while planning everything out. It was the most beautiful old Hollywood style, art deco rooftop and everything about it was perfect for our night. Gabe from GABEVENTS made everything so easy for us. He connected us with our incredible cater and bar service. I had to do very little in the way of decorating to have the wedding of my dreams.

A Magical Wedding!

The Oviatt is an amazing place to have a wedding. We fell in love with this place as soon as we walked in through the door. We knew we could not get married at any other venue. To say that our wedding was magical is an understatement. This is a unique space full of history and so much character. Our guests could not stop raving about the location. Gabe and Lindsey were amazing. They are great communicators and so kind. They made sure that the wedding ran smoothly. We wish we could get married all over again to experience what we did on our wedding day. Thank you guys for an unforgettable day!
