The Oviatt is an Art Deco-inspired wedding venue located in the once penthouse and rooftop two-level terrace in Downtown Los Angeles, California. Chic and sophisticated, this space was originally built in 1928 as a lavish penthouse for roaring 20's king, James Oviatt. Now an alluring event space with all of it's ornate and historic details and charm, couples are welcome to celebrate their love with up to 120 of their closest loved ones.
Facilities and Capacity
Defined by its opulent ambiance, The Oviatt exudes an authentic sense of old-world charm and luxury. Inside the penthouse couples will find a study, living room for gathering, a elegant bedroom used typically as a "getting ready room," and a true art deco bar and cocktial lounge. The two-story rooftop terrace is typically where nuptial festivities and the culinary experience takes place.
Interior features include Lalique glass decor, mahogany furniture, parquet wood floors, and many carved woodworks. Despite a seemingly niche aesthetic, the rooms have a high degree of flexibility for you to incorporate your own sense of style. Outside, the terrace is spacious and provides panoramic views of Downtown Los Angeles surrounded by city lights.
The event team is happy to erect a tent on the top level when the weather calls for it.

The Oviatt has an experienced event management team that will work with attentive care to ensure your planning up to the day you say I do is as seamless as possible. These experts have the necessary experience to help you design and flawlessly execute an unforgettable milestone celebration.
When you choose to celebrate at The Oviatt, you have access to an array of event items like banquet tables and chairs. Please inquire directly if you are interested in learning more about what The Oviatt offers to it's private and wedding event hosts/guests.
While the bar programming must remain in-house, for culinary experiences and catering, we invite couples to tap The Oviatt event team for our preferred partner list or encourage outside catering if that is the preference.

The Oviatt Was Fantastic
The Best Wedding Venue!
Gabe was very helpful during the touring and contracting phase. He communicates very clearly which made the process very smooth. There were no surprise charges at any point. The cost of everything was communicated very clearly upfront. Then, once we signed the contract, we worked with Lindsey, the director of events who supports the planning phase. Lindsey answered all of our questions in a timely and patient manner. She never hesitated to answer our questions, even when the answers to our questions were clearly outlined in the welcome packet! The event planning tools the team uses makes it incredibly easy to stay up on all of the planning details from floorplan to linen selections, to guest count - the tool handles it all with clear deadlines for each task.
Finally, on the day of our wedding the Oviatt team executed the event so smoothly. Everything went off without a hitch! Our guests were so impressed by the venue. Quintessential LA rooftop vibe with art deco architecture. Such a treat.
We would recommend the Oviatt to anybody looking to get married in the downtown area. The Oviatt is reasonably priced, the staff are incredibly professional and reliable, and are just nice people. We are forever grateful to the Oviatt staff for helping us have our perfect wedding!
