We are SO fortunate to have had The Mixing Bowl team as part of our wedding on 10/30/2021– I truly cannot recommend them enough! I initially reached out to Phyllis, TMB wedding coordinator, in a totally frenzied state: my previous vendor had dropped the ball on me with less than 6 months until the big day. As an out-of-state, pandemic bride, I was ready to accept a Betty Crocker cake at this point, but Phyllis assured me TMB could still accommodate *whatever* it was I envisioned. All of our email exchanges were upbeat and promptly responded to.

When life forced me to make a last minute trip through VA, I called TMB on a whim to see if I could grab a cake sample on my way through town. I was definitely expecting a "no, we're so sorry, we can't swing that," and would have been fine with that response. However, they made it happen with hardly any notice, and the sample was free!

As if all that weren't enough, my mom was in charge of the dessert for the rehearsal dinner, but after a bunch of mishaps, I sent a bridesmaid's husband into the wilderness and told him to handle it with 0 instruction. TMB hooked him up beautifully!

Needless to say, the cake was as delicious as it is beautiful. Thank you, TMB team and Phyllis! Engaged people: BOOK HERE!

My fiance and I both believe that a beautiful cake is pointless if it doesn't taste good as well. Fortunately, at the mixing bowl you don't have to worry because their cake flavors are all absolutely amazing and the process is so stress free. Our biggest issue was trying to decide which flavors because we loved all the options and combinations so much. Our semi-naked cutting cake was beautiful and exactly what we wanted and the cupcakes allowed for a variety of flavors. We have returned to The Mixing Bowl for other treats since then and will continue to order from them in the future.

I cannot say enough good things about The Mixing Bowl Bakery. Our wedding went from a guest list of 140 to 8 because of COVID-19. Phyllis and the rest of the staff at The Mixing Bowl were more than understanding when we had to completely change our order just a couple months out from the wedding. They made the MOST DELICIOUS wedding cake, and completely understood my vision. We were planning the wedding from Tennessee, and Phyllis was always timely and responsive with emails and phone calls. The cake tasting was definitely the best part of wedding planning! If you're getting married in Richmond, The Mixing Bowl Bakery is a must!

The Mixing Bowl made both our wedding cake and the grooms cake. We got so many great reviews on both as they were absolutely delicious. We also LOVED that we could choose a different flavor for each tier of cake. Some wedding cakes can be so bland, but with the Mixing Bowl, each layer and flavor was so fun and perfectly done. The Mixing bowl staff, especially Phyllis, were all extremely easy to work with and easy to communicate with. So thrilled with our choice to go with them and will be back in the future for more treats!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious! Phyllis was super easy to work with and helped us create a cake that met both of our needs. Everyone loved the different flavors. The Mixing Bowl is affordable and offers so many choices for any special occasion.

It took us a while to find what we wanted for our cake for our wedding because we don't live in the area. Phyllis was so helpful when I had a bunch of questions, she was flexible with me scheduling our tasting since I was coming in from out of town and she even let me bring an old friend because my fiance couldn't get off work. We are so happy we chose The Mixing Bowl for our wedding cake and desserts! There are many options for bakeries, but rest assured you need not look any further than here. They were such a pleasure to work with and really worked with us during our tasting to customize our wedding cake and entire dessert table for the wedding. Their professionalism and efficiency made this one of the easiest parts of our planning process. Not to mention how delicious every single dessert was, people from the wedding are still raving about the cute mini pies, macaroons, and the infamous almond wedding cake! We ordered various flavors of pie for our rehearsal dinner - we wanted to go with a different dessert rather than a groom's cake and this was the right choice! We were happy to get a local bakery to make our desserts and The Mixing Bowl made it SO EASY. We went by one afternoon and simply inquired about the cost and available flavors--we did not anticipate there being SO MANY available flavors for our event and the price was very reasonable for the amount of pie we needed. We were able to make arrangements to pick up our pies the day of our rehearsal dinner & pay for them that day. We received multiple compliments from our family and bridal party during our rehearsal dinner and they were elated to have a different option than the traditional cake. Very yummy! You won't be disappointed.

Y'allllllll this cake was the best thing I've ever eaten. I wish I could've gotten more of it that night. Not only did it taste INCREDIBLE, but we also got to work with them to choose a gorgeous design. The tasting was so fun, and they gave us a massive box of cake and frosting to sample. Also, I won't name any names, but a guest literally broke her veganism of many years to eat a piece of this cake. Amazing.
