Facilities and Capacity

Couples can accommodate up to 200 guests at this romantic venue. The Seaside Lawn is available for an outdoor affair, which can accommodate both your ceremony and reception. If you prefer to dance the night away indoors, the Plumsock and Holyoke Rooms offer enough space to seat up to 75 guests around the spacious dance floor. Intimate gatherings are welcome to use the Hooper-Hathaway House, which can accommodate 50 guests for a cocktail-style reception. Parking is available onsite, with wheelchair accessibility to ensure everyone easily arrives at the venue.

History

This home was built for Captain John Turner in 1668. Turner was the head of one of the most successful maritime families in the New England Colonies. Captain Samuel Ingersoll purchased it in 1782 and it was his daughter, Susanna Ingersoll, who was the second cousin of Nathaniel Hawthorne. He visited her often in the mid-1800s, where he got inspiration for his novel.
