Intimate gatherings are welcome to use the Hooper-Hathaway House, which can accommodate 50 guests for a cocktail-style reception. History

This home was built for Captain John Turner in 1668. Turner was the head of one of the most successful maritime families in the New England Colonies. Captain Samuel Ingersoll purchased it in 1782 and it was his daughter, Susanna Ingersoll, who was the second cousin of Nathaniel Hawthorne. He visited her often in the mid-1800s, where he got inspiration for his novel.
