Highly Recommend!

We had an absolutely incredible experience with the Historic German House! The space is beautiful and can accommodate both ceremony and reception. Jessica and Chris were both a pleasure to work with. The attention to detail was unmatched. Jessica is incredibly knowledgeable, organized, and so helpful during the planning process, and Chris has created a bar experience that is above and beyond your typical wedding. The entire staff the day of the event was so attentive, professional, and kind. We cannot recommend the Historic German House enough!!

Beautiful wedding venue

The German House was exactly what my husband and I wanted for our wedding - not too rustic and not too modern, this venue is the perfect blend of timeless elegance! He loved all the wood throughout the building and I loved the patterned ceilings and gold accents. The bridal suite was a beautiful sunny room that was perfect for getting ready in and photos with my bridesmaids. We were married in front of a cross arbor with the curtains closed, which helped us transition the ballroom throughout the day. We had an intimate dinner on top of the stage, and a larger reception that was accommodated by the large, open ballroom. We filled the shelves in the ballroom with our guestbook, card box, advice cards, wooden letters, and other unique decorations which got so many compliments from our guests! A unique highlight for me was the fun photos we got with the red carpet staircase and theater balcony portion of the building. I cannot stop looking at our photos and highly recommend this venue!!

Absolutely amazing space and staff!

The venue is beautiful, but what really sets them apart is their people. From the minute we walked into The Historic German house for a tour we could sense how passionate Chris and his team are about the space and the events they host. Chris’ food and beverage background, combined with Jessica’s attention to detail, they really are the most dynamic duo. Throughout the planning process Chris and Jessica were kind, flexible, and always there when I felt like I needed a bit of direction. The planning process was incredibly smooth. They genuinely wanted our day to be perfect as much as we did.

Fast forward to our wedding day. The event staff was incredible. We had multiple guest commenting on how fun the bartenders were, how kind the servers were, how fun it was to see the staff enjoying the event as much as guests. Just like during the planning process, Jessica, Jeremy, and Chris made the day run incredibly smooth. Did things go wrong? I have no idea, that’s how smooth it was.

I would recommend Chris, Jessica, and The Historic German House 1000x over to anyone who is looking to plan the perfect wedding. They are seriously top notch and some of the best in the business!!

Best place ever

We were recently married at the German House. Honestly I don't think I have any complaints about anything. Going through the entire planning process with them (especially this year) was seamless. Communication, planning, execution everything was top notch. The addition of the bridal suite for us all to get ready in is an extremely special touch that not many places have to offer (not to mention it is decorated like you are in a West Elm catalog its amazing). I didn't have to lift a finger when it came to set up, take down, service, timeline, ceremony. I can't say enough kind words about Chris & Amanda. The space itself is also an AMAZING value. Many places charge you for the space and then you have to rent everything on top of the space. Their all inclusive pricing for the room is already a fantastic price, not to mention it includes tables, chairs, linens, silverware, plates, glasses, etc...

Perfect venue for wedding or event

I recently worked with The German House (Amanda and Chris) on a corporate dinner party. They listened to my vision and made it happen! Amanda and Chris are organized, professional and exceeded all expectations. The venue is gorgeous and they attended to every detail, ensuring the event was flawless. I have managed corporate events for 15 years and can be a tough critic. I have never experienced the extraordinary level of service Amanda, Chris and the staff provided. This is the team you want to orchestrate your perfect event!

The "New" Historic German House

The Historic German House recently changed ownership and is finishing up a major restoration. The grand (reopening) will be June 12th, 2019. Any reviews or photos before this time are from the previous owner. The venue will be keeping its original name to preserve the history associated with the beautiful 120-year-old building.

Great venue

From the moment we walked in on the tour we knew this was our venue. Beautiful and historic, it was perfect for us. What sealed the deal for us was the custom signature drinks. We loved working with Chris, spewing ideas of cocktails we enjoyed and hearing the spin he puts on them. They ended up delicious and a huge hit for our guests (and ourselves). Chris was easy to work with and everything flowed really well. The they provided day of venue coordinator was amazing. We had our ceremony and reception here. They did a quick flip during cocktail hour while our guests were behind the curtain. Their venue included tables, linens, chairs, and our choice of 2 arbors, so that helped make planning easier. All we had to do was bring our own centerpieces and other random decor to place throughout the venue. Would recommend them to anyone!

Very displeased. Food was served under cooked to guest , several items were lost or broken. During booking with this vendor the coordinator changed and everything was not well documented or communicated. Sarah is very professional but the owners are very rude.
