The Henry Clay was built in 1924 and it still Downtown Louisville's largest historic boutique event venue. This elegant property offers 2 very beautiful and unique 1920’s style ballrooms that exude timeless elegance and make the perfect romantic backdrop for your wedding day! If availability allows, you would have your pick of your favorite ballroom or use one ballroom for the ceremony and the other for the reception!
2nd Floor- The Grand Ballroom is the largest ballroom in Louisville with a stationary stage. The room features time period box seating and 27 foot tall ceilings lined with the original 1924 chandeliers. The Grand Ballroom is located on the second floor of the Henry Clay and also includes the South Room which has mirrored columns, gorgeous hand carved crown molding and decorative wood features, as well as red carpeted floors. Another feature of the 2nd floor that adds a touch of elegance is the Atrium that overlooks the baby grand piano in the Grand Lobby. The Atrium showcases the original 1924 backlit stained-glass ceiling tiles, wrought iron hand rails and is outlined in beautifully ornamented columns. The 2nd floor also offers two sets of restrooms and can host intimate weddings and receptions, but the space will allow for very large parties up to 500 guests or more. The Grand Ballroom has featured song artist such as Aretha Franklin, Hall & Oats, Allison Kraus, Heuy Lewis and the News, as well as many other big names. Other famous guests included Muhammad Ali and President Obama. Top Chef was recently filmed in this ballroom and in 2010, Martha Stewart named the Henry Clay Ballrooms in the top 10 venues in the United States.
4th Floor- The Beaux Arts Ballroom is slightly smaller than the Grand Ballroom but still very grand in its size and architectural character. The Beaux Arts Ballroom has a romantic and intimate feel and features 2 colossal white columns and a ceiling lined with backlit original stained-glass tiles. Brocade style panels, decorative trim and stained- glass windows accent the walls of this ballroom. 4th floor rentals include the Billiards Room, the Tavern Room and the outdoor Courtyard exclusive to your party. These rooms could serve as areas for the cocktail hour, a small ceremony or an area to place bars, food stations or a photo booth. One of the biggest bonuses is that the rental cost includes full access to the Bridal Suite beginning the morning of the wedding at 10am. This would allow the bride and her wedding party to have a private suite for all things hair, makeup and all those wedding prep pictures.

As a wedding planner you always want the day to go off on point. The Henry Clay provided just that. Ally was fabulous and cooperative. Our day of person was Kim. She was there to handle any issue or question we had. She pitched in to help where and when needed. I would highly recommend Ally and her staff of the Henry Clay for your event needs!!! They were the best!Sent on 08/05/2019

The Ballroom and South Room are 2 of the prettiest rooms in Louisville! Everything was perfect and we couldn't thank Leigh at The Henry Clay and everyone at The Silver Spoon enough for making our daughter's Wedding "the best day of our lives!"Sent on 07/16/2015
The Henry Clay epitomizes elegance and grandeur. The combination of so many different rooms of varying sizes allows events and weddings of any size to fit into an appropriate space. We love the great acoustics available in the Fourth floor wedding venue!
We absolutely LOVE the stage at the Henry Clay! If you are considering a live band at your wedding reception, this is the place! The wooden floors, high ceilings, and HUGE stage make for a great party!
Such an elegant venue. Love the space. Staff is wonderful and their preferred caterers are awesome.
