The Henry Clay is a historic wedding venue located in downtown Louisville, Kentucky. This elegant early 20th century building exudes romance and luxury, making it an ideal space to start your journey with your new spouse. With classic ballrooms and vintage-inspired decor, memories made here are bound to last a lifetime.
Facilities and Capacity
Event rentals are available for rooms on the building’s second and fourth floors. Its Grand Ballroom, the most magnificent space, features brocaded walls and decorative molding. Its dark hardwood floors make a beautiful dance floor for up to 450 guests. Across the hall, the South Room is an equally stunning function room that can accommodate 200 guests. The fourth floor has three additional spaces, each with their own allure. With a capacity of 250, the Beaux Arts Ballroom has the grandeur of a much larger space while maintaining an intimate air. Boasting a beautiful stained glass ceiling, the gently filtered light creates a romantic ambiance. Alternatively, smaller weddings can be held in the Tavern Room, which offers sweeping views of Louisville. The Hospitality Suite on the fourth floor is available for the wedding party to use as a get-ready room.
To ensure that couples and their guests are taken care of on the wedding day, a professional event manager is provided by the venue or the caterer. They can aid in the organization of the event so that couples can enjoy themselves. This venue has partnered with four local catering companies that provide all meals and bar services for events here. There are a number of catering and rental plans available for weddings, often with additional options to customize your personal package.
Located just outside Old Louisville, the city’s historic district, The Henry Clay fits in seamlessly with its surroundings. The building dates back to 1924, when it was established as an extravagant Elks Lodge. It served as a hotel for decades throughout the middle of the century and subsequently accommodated the Young Women’s Christian Association before falling into disrepair. In 2005, the building was purchased and restored to its former splendor.

As a wedding planner you always want the day to go off on point. The Henry Clay provided just that. Ally was fabulous and cooperative. Our day of person was Kim. She was there to handle any issue or question we had. She pitched in to help where and when needed. I would highly recommend Ally and her staff of the Henry Clay for your event needs!!! They were the best!Sent on 08/05/2019

The Ballroom and South Room are 2 of the prettiest rooms in Louisville! Everything was perfect and we couldn't thank Leigh at The Henry Clay and everyone at The Silver Spoon enough for making our daughter's Wedding "the best day of our lives!"Sent on 07/16/2015
The Henry Clay epitomizes elegance and grandeur. The combination of so many different rooms of varying sizes allows events and weddings of any size to fit into an appropriate space. We love the great acoustics available in the Fourth floor wedding venue!
We absolutely LOVE the stage at the Henry Clay! If you are considering a live band at your wedding reception, this is the place! The wooden floors, high ceilings, and HUGE stage make for a great party!
Such an elegant venue. Love the space. Staff is wonderful and their preferred caterers are awesome.
