About this venue

The Frazier History Museum, located in downtown Louisville, KY, is an elegant venue for weddings and other special events. Here, you can surround yourself with all manner of historic artifacts and interactive museum installations while you celebrate your love. Located in the West Main District of the city, the Frazier is surrounded by other museums, tourist sites, and has six hotels within two blocks of the museum. The museum became the first stop on the Kentucky Bourbon Trail in 2018.

With a selection of indoor and outdoor event spaces, the Frazier History Museum can comfortably accommodate up to 300 people. This includes a Rooftop Garden overlooking the Ohio River, available for ceremonies, receptions, and cocktail hours. 250 or more of your nearest and dearest can be seated for your ceremony, then head downstairs to a gallery floor for a cocktail hour before moving to our 4th floor Loft for a beautiful reception. If the weather takes a turn for the worse, the museum has a backup indoor space that you can use for no extra charge.

More intimate ceremonies and receptions can be held in our 1st floor Great Hall or various other spaces, including our 3rd floor prohibition era Speakeasy or outdoor Gateway Garden. And don't forget to ask about hosting your rehearsal dinner or welcome party at the Frazier.

Each rental includes tables, chairs, and event staff to help the day run smoothly!

The Frazier History Museum is affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution. The knowledgeable museum staff work hard to help their clients to learn about and understand stories from history. Philanthropist Owsley Brown Frazier founded the museum in 2004 and was passionate about all manner of topics, from world history to benefitting the community. As a non-profit the Frazier uses proceeds to support children in the Kentuckiana community.

Amazing customer service

Abby and Katie were attentive and informative while I was researching venues. I appreciate the care they took to go out of their way to provide a video tour of the space when the Covid pandemic began. They were great to work with!

Perfect in every way

Frazier was a dream come true! We are so happy we picked it as our wedding venue both for our ceremony & reception. It all flowed so perfect and that was all thanks to Frazier! The staff was very helpful & so nice to work with. They make it easy for you and what’s better than that when planning a wedding. Plus the venue is freaking beautiful. I promise you won’t be disappointed.

Excellent experience all around!!!

Hubby and I loved getting married at The Frazier! Tori and Abby were great coordinators. They walked us through everything, and made sure the wedding and reception went smoothly. We kept the decorations minimal, because The Frazier has such a classic and rustic look. And the cocktail hour in the Order of the Writ room was just perfect! And, even though it poured on our wedding day (which ruined the plan for a rooftop ceremony), we had a beautiful backup location, and we were able to take wedding pics anywhere in the museum!

Labor day wedding

I would highly recommend Frazier for any events/weddings to anyone. I worked with Tori Nale as my coordinator. She was absolutely outstanding!! Very friendly, very hard-working, and a perfectionist are just a few of her qualities. She was a big key in making our wedding perfect! Not one thing went wrong with working with Frazier! Not one! We got married on the rooftop. Absolutely breathtaking. The Frazier staff had the rooftop flowers looking beautiful. The facility was very clean. All the staff I worked with were very professional. Couldn’t thank them enough. HIGHLY recommend Tori and the Frazier.

The Frazier Museum did a fantastic job with our daughter's wedding. Having the Speak Easy with the Prohibition exhibit for the cocktail hour was a great idea. Abby our coordinator was the best!

Everything was perfect and all the staff was very professional. I do wish that someone would have noticed the groomsmen had phones, keys, and sunglasses hanging out of their pockets. Kind of hard to notice as the bride since you're in the back. I didn't know until we received our pictures. The venue was beautiful. The rooftop was exactly how I imagined and Julie was very attentive to anything we asked. I would recommend this place to every single person. Its worth every penny.

Throughout my planning process I spoke with all the girls at the Frazier, but Julie S. was my contact on the day of my wedding and she was absolutely awesome. I would recommend hosting a wedding ceremony and reception at this venue solely based on the service, flexibility, and care that Julie provided.

Having our wedding at the Frazier was probably the best decision we made during the whole wedding planning process. The event coordinators are incredibly sweet, helpful, professional people and they made the last week before the wedding, as well as the wedding evening itself, super easy. My event coordinator was on-site during the entirety of setup, ceremony, and reception and made sure that everyone was where they needed to be when they needed to be there, including guests and vendors. Not only are the people at the Frazier great, but the facilities themselves are first-rate. My ceremony was on the rooftop and it was absolutely gorgeous. They have flowers planted all around the edges of the roof so I barely had to decorate at all. The first floor Great Hall, where my reception was held, has incredible lighting and a lot of space. I'm so so happy we chose the Frazier and I highly recommend them!
