About

This public hall was built by an organization called the Stanwood Fraternal Association - “a company formed exclusively of foresters.” In a 1902 copy of The Coast magazine, it says of Stanwood: “The Foresters have just completed a commodious and beautiful hall at considerable expense, which is a credit to the place.” The early city directories refer to it as the Stanwood Fraternal Hall and name E. Tolin as its manager. Edward Tolin lived in the house between D.O. Pearson House and the Public Hall and in 1893 he was listed as Chief Ranger of Court Stanwood, Ancient Order of Foresters, so there is a good chance he was a part of the group of carpenters that built the hall.

Bobbie & Rose, who oversee bookings for the Hall are wonderful to work with. They have made it easy to walk through the building several times. There are great bonuses to renting here, all tables & chairs for up to 200 are included in the price, they give you extra time before & after for free for setup & cleanup, full size commercial kitchen w/ fridge & freezer, sound system already on site & many more! If youre looking for a beautiful location & to save money you should look them up!
