About

The Cooperage is a historic wedding venue located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. This hub for live music, private parties, and special events has housed a number of different celebrations. With a rustic yet elegant appearance, it’s no wonder that The Cooperage is one of the top venues to host events in Milwaukee.

Facilities and Capacity
This historic building can host a number of different events either indoors or outdoors with covered and uncovered options. The interior of the venue can comfortably seat up to 150 guests but can host seated up to 200 and more for cocktail style reception. The Cooperage features an industrial feel, with steel beams, exposed ductwork, iron hand railing, wood finishes, and statement brick interiors. The bar is placed in front of a wall of windows that allow tons of natural light to seep through. Adding elegance to the space, this venue also features an opulent chandelier.

Services Offered
As a self-proclaimed adult playground, this venue is the perfect spot for couples who want to make sure that their wedding is a fun celebration. At The Cooperage, you can expect to find pedal taverns, mouth-watering cocktails and music that will have you dancing all night long. Some of the event rental items that are available include audio equipment, a dance floor, lighting, and tables. And if you need even more reasons to love this space, this venue is pet friendly. Cuisine
As previously mentioned, this venue offers both bar and catering services to their clients. Couples may choose from a variety of serving styles, including buffet, cocktail reception, family-style, and hors d'oeuvres options. You may also bring in cake from outside bakeries.

History
The Cooperage got its name from when it used to house Milwaukee’s cooper trade, which is the manufacturing of barrels and casks, decades ago. Because it was originally built for storage and construction, The Cooperage has a lot of open space, making it great for present day events.

Loved my wedding reception

We had only the wedding reception at the Cooperage and we did the ceremony at another venue. It was the perfect place to celebrate our special day. I loved the atmosphere created and having the sound system as well as the lights included is a big plus. The lightning created a fun party vibe and my guests had a blast!
Maddie, the venue coordinator, went above and beyond to ensure every detail was taken care of with care and she was very responsive to me towards the day-of. I loved how they are open to our ideas and how much personalization I could add.
Some guests told us it was their favorite wedding they have been to since everybody had fun and couldn't stop raving about the delicious food (we had a plated dinner) and drinks. Choosing The Cooperage was the best decision we made, and I which I could organize another party there!

The Perfect Venue for Us!

I cannot imagine having a better venue to fit our boho industrial vision. The Cooperage was gorgeous and spacious and truly seemed like it had everything: Lots of space indoors and outdoors, a big bar, a balcony area for guest that wanted to get away but not too far away, a stage and dance floor area. We chose to dress up the space with floral and rental furniture, but even without that the space is gorgeous and truly doesn't need much. Working with Emily was fantastic. She was always so kind and accommodating to our ideas. The catering and bar staff was also phenomenal. Every person was a joy to be around on our big day, and brought their A-game to preparing the food and drinks. It was the perfect setting for the perfect day and we appreciate it so much!

Highly Recommend The Cooperage

We used The Cooperage for our wedding reception venue and catering and would highly recommend them to anyone! Emily made planning and coordinating a breeze! We communicated through email for most of the planning process and had a final phone call to go over details a few weeks before the wedding. It is a beautiful and unique venue showing off Milwaukee history. We had so many compliments on the venue and the food from our guests. Mitch is an amazing chef! Our food was served family style and they easily made accommodations for our guests with dietary restrictions. We are so happy we chose the Cooperage!
