We rented a vintage cab for our wedding and could not be happier! Victor had replied to my emails leading up to the wedding and arrived early on our day. Nothing was too much trouble on the day, which was wonderful as we got stuck in crazy NY traffic!! He drove like a champ and patiently waited for us. He was also great to talk to.
His car was a hit, with people stopping in the street to take photos and comment. The vehicle itself was fantastic and so roomy on the inside. Victor even put a "Just Married" sign on the back of the cab after our ceremony! A true NY experience and one we will not forget!

My husband and I rented Victor's Checker Cab to take us around Manhattan for a 2 hour photo shoot before our wedding. It was so much fun, and the cab made our photos awesome. Victor is very professional. He arrived early to our meeting place, and he didn't mind when we ran a little over the set time. He takes a lot of pride in his cab and it was spotless. I definitely recommend.

I had a vintage 1970’s checkered taxi as my form of transportation for my wedding day and I couldn’t be happier. It was beautiful, spacious, and made my special day even more memorable. The amount of room in the back of this lovely checkered taxi is very surprising. The driver, Victor arrived on time and was extremely nice, chipper, and professional. He drove us to DUMBO where we took our wedding photos and drove us to our ceremony and reception location.
I highly recommend The Checkered Taxi Guy if you would like to rent a vintage checkered cab or any other classic car for that matter. He has a great variety of classic cars!

I can't believe no one else has reviewed this company! Victor (aka "Checker Guy") was an absolute dream to work with. He has a great selection of vintage cars, including the retro taxi cab I ended up reserving. Victor responded immediately when I asked for pricing, was very flexible with my budget, and kept in close contact with me right up until the wedding day. He brought along a nice surprise - a "Just Married" sign for the back of the car. (Picture is in my profile.) If you're looking for a retro flair for your wedding, look no further! My husband and I wanted a vintage car for our wedding, but wanted something other than the usual Rolls Royce options at a limo company. We came across the Checker Guy website and loved the selection of cars. We ultimately decided on a black 1953 Cadillac. Victor (the Checker Guy) was easy to work with and very laid back. I suppose this could be frustrating for the Type A, controlling types, but let me assure you that there is nothing to worry about. The morning of, Victor was at least 20 minutes early (he had budgeted himself plenty of time in case he hit traffic). The car looked amazing and he was a pleasure to ride with, telling interesting stories and also explaining various details of the car.
We got lots of attention riding to and from the church because of the unique car, and it was a big hit with our wedding guests. Having a wonderful vintage car was a great detail for our wedding and we are thrilled that we had the opportunity to know Victor and ride in this car!

I knew from day one that I wanted to hire a vintage taxi, but finding one old enough to accommodate my 1930s/1940s vibe was not easy. When I found The Checker Guy and saw the photos of his 1940 Dodge Taxi, I knew I had to have it. (I would recommend calling rather than emailing for the fastest response.) Victor sent the car via flatbed to my hotel, hours ahead of schedule to be sure there were no issues. The driver was professional and friendly. After mass, he attached a Just Married sign with tin cans on the back for some pictures, which is what we chose for our thank you cards. And the car was a huge hit! As we drove through Hoboken, countless people stopped to look, wave, and take pictures. All of our guests loved it, too. It perfectly fulfilled my vision for the day and was worth every penny.

Wanted something different for my wedding in september than the usual white vintage car. Victor was not easy to find but I am so glad we did! we rented the black cadillac convertible and it was the best decision we made! It was so unique and different and we got some amazing photos with the car. Victor arrived super early and was easy to work with.

I was in contact with Victor about renting a cab for my wedding on July 17th.. Everything was going smoothly in our communications via email until I asked for a contract.. The communication completely stopped via email and when I would call to try and speak to him over the phone he would always have an excuse as to why he couldn't talk and said he would call me back. Needless to say the callbacks never happened. I'm not sure why he originally agreed to rent me the cab and then decided not to. I was willing to pay his fee and the couple of weeks that we were in communication were only about business conversations so I cant imagine that he was offended in anyway.. The only thing I could think of, is that he had another offer that was more profitable and instead of being honest he decided to ignore me, which is very unprofessional.
