No regrets!
From start to finish we had a great experience with The Box House. Their organization, clear communication and packages made planning about as simple as we could’ve hoped and we felt confident ant taken care of through the whole experience.
Their team gave us clear direction and check-ins in the months and weeks leading up to our big day - as long as you follow their super clear check list you’re golden!
We only had to find a DJ, florist & photographer and The Box House took care of the rest - including day of coordination. This freed us up to be obsessive and stress about other things. We opted to have our first after party and our brunch the following morning at The Brooklyn Lantern right off of the hotel’s lobby which made it easy for our out of town and older guests who have issues with mobility or are less savvy with transportation - no regrets at all on either.
Other thoughts:
- They opened the ceiling just before the ceremony started which was a pleasantly dramatic affect that we didn’t ask for but was a really effective vibe builder before we made our way down.
- A glass of champagne and a plate of canapés were graciously waiting for us immediately after the ceremony. It ended up being all I ate so I’m very grateful.
- The switch over from ceremony to cocktail hour was quick and unobtrusive. I was worried about it being a thing but I barely remember it.
- A lot of our guests went out of their way to tell us how friendly and attentive the waitstaff was - we thought they were, it was just nice to hear it repeated multiple times.
- The food was served family style with the cheesy potatoes a stand out hit; one person said it would be part of their last meal.
- The signature cocktails were a fan favorite.
- We didn’t take their recommendation to do a second bar for a party our size (155) and we probably should have.
- They kindly kept things moving made sure we were where we need to be when we needed to be.
- After the wedding their team packed everything up neatly and had it waiting for us the next day.
We used one of their recommended florists (Floresta) & photographers (A Guy + A Girl Photography) - both of whom we happily recommend as well :)

Thank you Box House!
Box House hosted our wedding reception last weekend and they were truly excellent. Robyn, Mariel, Nick, and the entire team were super responsive, detail-oriented, and wonderful to work with. We had a fairly tight planning schedule (~3 months), and they went above and beyond. Our reception ran seamlessly and the space looked beautiful. Several guests said it was the best wedding dinner they'd ever had. I was impressed by how many wait staff they had, and everyone was super friendly and positive the day of our wedding. Highly recommended! Thank you Box House!

A Perfect Winter Rooftop Wedding at The Box House Hotel
We got married at The Box House Hotel this past winter and it was everything we dreamed of! The space was gorgeous, with beautiful lighting, amazing views, and a cozy warmth that made it feel so special, even on a cold winter night.
At first, we were a little worried about how our guest count of just over 200 would fit and flow in the space, but it turned out to be absolutely perfect! The layout was so well thought out, and our guests kept commenting on how comfortable everything felt from the ceremony to the reception it never felt crowded or cramped.
From the start, Abbas was such a trustworthy and knowledgeable part of the team. He really understood how to bring our vision together and gave us great guidance throughout the planning process. We always felt like we were in good hands. The planning and design team, Daryna and Mariel, were wonderful to work with. They really listened to what we wanted and brought our ideas to life beautifully. Every detail, from the layout to the decor, felt personal and thoughtfully done. On the wedding day, Robyn and Nick made sure everything ran flawlessly. They kept things organized, calm, and fun, which was exactly what we needed. We didn’t have to stress about a thing and they handled every detail seamlessly behind the scenes.
The AV company completely transformed the space with their lighting and souind setup. They were amazing to work with and incredibly accommodating with our joint DJ and Arabic band. The sound and atmosphere were perfect all night!
Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the night was. The entire venue was perfectly heated and comfortable and the whole celebration had a warm and joyful energy we’ll never forget! We’re so grateful to Abbas and everyone at The Box House for giving us the wedding we always hoped for!

The Box House Hotel helped make our wedding reception perfect
Every detail about our wedding reception at the Box House Hotel was perfect. The planning process was smooth and seamless - Daryna, Mariah, Mariel, and Nick were all communicative, accommodating, helpful, and friendly. Additionally, Daryna and Mariah were on top of everything at the reception and made the day so much easier for us. The food and drinks were delicious, the space looked beautiful, and the staff was great. We would highly recommend The Box House Hotel to anyone looking to have their wedding in NYC - it really was the perfect place to celebrate!

The Perfect Day
We cannot express how happy we are that we chose to go with the Box House Hotel for our wedding venue. First of all, the space was perfect for what we wanted: 150 guests with a great view of the city BUT with a great rainplan that didn't compromise the view (the rooftop is retractable and decisions about keeping it open/closed can be made even on the day of!). From the time of booking, Mariel from the planning team was a total dream to work with. She was very communicative and was always ready with helpful insight and solutions in response to our questions. Nick was also very helpful with getting the AV/lighting package set up and with communicating with our DJ ahead of time.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Daryna and Mariah were absolute pros in getting all of the last-minute details sorted. We appreciated how much they made themselves available to us in the weeks leading up to the wedding, when we had quick questions via email or wanted to meet via video call.
The day of the wedding went even more smoothly than I could have ever imagined. It went without a hitch! Daryna and Mariah were both present on the day of, coordinating the set-up of our space and handling small logistics. We were both so impressed with their work. At the end of our ceremony, when we recessed down the aisle, Mariah was even ready at the end of the aisle with two of our signature cocktails ready for us to drink if we wanted! The attention to detail was unmatched.
After the event, we've received so many compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed the drinks and food! Seriously, the Box House knocked it out of the park in every way.
We are so grateful to the entire team at the Box House for helping to make our wedding day the best of our lives. We cannot recommend this venue enough!!!

I was a chill bride thanks to the box house
I am textbook type A. Anal even. Everything about me meant I was barreling towards Bridezilla territory. The best part in this wedding planning process was the Box House as our venue. Every question I had was answered within a few hours, the team was filled with absolute pros, and no detail was forgotten.
I was able to be a chill bride because of them! I had no stress in the months leading up to the wedding thanks to Mariel, and I didn't even have any pre- or day-of wedding stress because Mariah and Daryna had everything covered and communicated everything to us before I could even ask a question.
The proactive team made my life so much easier, but that wasn't the only reason why it was an amazing wedding. The food was FANTASTIC. So many people pulled us aside to comment on the quality of the food and drinks, which is exactly what we wanted! We got to hand pick every single part of the menu, and even the tasting process was a whole operation that proved we were in good hands.
The wait staff was so professional, and all our guests with allergies or dietary restrictions were taken care of perfectly.
Everything that could have gone wrong was addressed months ahead of time (a NYC rooftop means contingency plans for rain, heat, cold, wind, etc, all of which was clearly communicated to us at the time of reservation).
The wedding team at the Box House communicated with our vendors ahead of time, and we didn't need to be involved in day-of logistics at all -- we just dropped off our stuff on Friday and everything was in its place by Saturday morning!
If I was reeeeally searching for something I'd highlight as a "negative," it'd be that the hotel block was only for 10 rooms. But there are so many hotels around this area that many of our friends just booked cheaper hotels nearby or stayed at the Box House without the block discount. (And no one complained about this, but with much larger groups I could see it being a slight inconvenience.)
But overall, the Box House is rated highly for weddings for a reason. To have no stress during the wedding weekend AND have people tell us it was one of their favorite weddings ever? A beautiful combination.
Choosing to have our wedding at the Box House was the single best decision we made in wedding planning. If I had to do it over again, the first thing I'd do is book at The Box House.
