From start to finish we had a great experience with The Box House. Their organization, clear communication and packages made planning about as simple as we could’ve hoped and we felt confident ant taken care of through the whole experience.
Their team gave us clear direction and check-ins in the months and weeks leading up to our big day - as long as you follow their super clear check list you’re golden!
We only had to find a DJ, florist & photographer and The Box House took care of the rest - including day of coordination. This freed us up to be obsessive and stress about other things. We opted to have our first after party and our brunch the following morning at The Brooklyn Lantern right off of the hotel’s lobby which made it easy for our out of town and older guests who have issues with mobility or are less savvy with transportation - no regrets at all on either.
Other thoughts:
- They opened the ceiling just before the ceremony started which was a pleasantly dramatic affect that we didn’t ask for but was a really effective vibe builder before we made our way down.
- A glass of champagne and a plate of canapés were graciously waiting for us immediately after the ceremony. It ended up being all I ate so I’m very grateful.
- The switch over from ceremony to cocktail hour was quick and unobtrusive. I was worried about it being a thing but I barely remember it.
- A lot of our guests went out of their way to tell us how friendly and attentive the waitstaff was - we thought they were, it was just nice to hear it repeated multiple times.
- The food was served family style with the cheesy potatoes a stand out hit; one person said it would be part of their last meal.
- The signature cocktails were a fan favorite.
- We didn’t take their recommendation to do a second bar for a party our size (155) and we probably should have.
- They kindly kept things moving made sure we were where we need to be when we needed to be.
- After the wedding their team packed everything up neatly and had it waiting for us the next day.
We used one of their recommended florists (Floresta) & photographers (A Guy + A Girl Photography) - both of whom we happily recommend as well :)
Our many many many thanks again to the team at The Box House for everything! We’d do it there all over again and have already recommended them to friends and colleagues. -

Dream Venue, Perfect Night
We truly could not have imagined a better venue for our wedding than The Box House Hotel. The space itself is absolutely stunning, with unbeatable views of the Manhattan skyline that are beautiful in any weather. We first toured the venue on a gloomy day in February and immediately fell in love, and even on our rainy wedding day in May, the atmosphere, views, and overall vibe were still incredible.
We also loved that the venue is located on the rooftop of a hotel, which made lodging and logistics convenient for our guests. The bridal suite was gorgeous and spacious, and the hotel staff was attentive and welcoming.
The food and beverage program was another huge highlight. Everything was highly customizable, and the team was incredibly accommodating of dietary restrictions and allergies, which meant so much to us — especially as a bride with food allergies. They even helped us create a custom specialty cocktail that wasn’t originally on the menu. Our guests are still talking about how amazing the food was, and many said it was the best wedding food they’ve ever had. The venue also introduced us to some wonderful preferred vendors, including our florist and DJ. We also really appreciated the team’s flexibility and understanding when a few guests had to cancel unexpectedly due to personal emergencies.
Most importantly, the team at The Box House Hotel was extraordinary. Abbas, Nick, Mariel, Daryna, and Mitchell were responsive, kind, attentive, flexible, and genuinely invested in making our wedding feel special and personal to us. Planning a wedding can be stressful, but throughout the entire process, we felt supported and cared for. We are endlessly grateful to the entire team for helping create such a beautiful and unforgettable wedding weekend. -

Our wedding at the Box House Hotel was nothing short of incredible - From start to finish, the entire BHH team delivered an exceptional level of professionalism, responsiveness, and service that made the whole night feel seamless & genuinely enjoyable.
Just to highlight some of our favorite things about this venue:
THE VIEW - It is truly amazing with sweeping NYC skyline views that you cannot get anywhere else and your pictures will be incredible.
Accommodations - The BHH has a super spacious 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath penthouse suite that had a full kitchen which was an absolute game-changer for getting ready. With 10 bridesmaids, 4 hair and makeup artists, plus family coming in and out, I was nervous about not having enough space but we had plenty of room.
Food & Drinks - The food at the BHH deserves its own spotlight. It was exceptional across the board and our guests are still talking about the scalloped potatoes. Even the tasting event leading up to our wedding was a standout experience.
Convenience - Another huge plus of this venue was that everything is in one place. For our out-of-town guests, it made the entire weekend effortless. They could stay, get ready, and celebrate without needing to travel between locations which is exactly what we needed.
Service - What made our night so truly enjoyable was the incredible BHH Events staff - Abbas, Daryna, Mariel, Mitchell, and Nick & AV crew were super responsive, paid attention to every detail and checked in with us throughout the entire 1+ year wedding planning process. The bar crew on the day-of was also fantastic! Dave in particular was an absolute standout & kept the party going all night long!
If you're looking for a venue with the most breathtaking views, top-tier service, incredible food, and unmatched convenience, the Box House Hotel is truly special. We couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate our special day! -

Box House hosted our wedding reception last weekend and they were truly excellent. Robyn, Mariel, Nick, and the entire team were super responsive, detail-oriented, and wonderful to work with. We had a fairly tight planning schedule (~3 months), and they went above and beyond. Our reception ran seamlessly and the space looked beautiful. Several guests said it was the best wedding dinner they'd ever had. I was impressed by how many wait staff they had, and everyone was super friendly and positive the day of our wedding. We got married at The Box House Hotel this past winter and it was everything we dreamed of! The space was gorgeous, with beautiful lighting, amazing views, and a cozy warmth that made it feel so special, even on a cold winter night.
At first, we were a little worried about how our guest count of just over 200 would fit and flow in the space, but it turned out to be absolutely perfect! The layout was so well thought out, and our guests kept commenting on how comfortable everything felt from the ceremony to the reception it never felt crowded or cramped.
From the start, Abbas was such a trustworthy and knowledgeable part of the team. He really understood how to bring our vision together and gave us great guidance throughout the planning process. We always felt like we were in good hands. The planning and design team, Daryna and Mariel, were wonderful to work with. They really listened to what we wanted and brought our ideas to life beautifully. Every detail, from the layout to the decor, felt personal and thoughtfully done. On the wedding day, Robyn and Nick made sure everything ran flawlessly. They kept things organized, calm, and fun, which was exactly what we needed. We didn’t have to stress about a thing and they handled every detail seamlessly behind the scenes.
The AV company completely transformed the space with their lighting and souind setup. They were amazing to work with and incredibly accommodating with our joint DJ and Arabic band. The sound and atmosphere were perfect all night!
Our guests couldn’t stop talking about how beautiful the night was. The entire venue was perfectly heated and comfortable and the whole celebration had a warm and joyful energy we’ll never forget! We’re so grateful to Abbas and everyone at The Box House for giving us the wedding we always hoped for! -

Every detail about our wedding reception at the Box House Hotel was perfect. The planning process was smooth and seamless - Daryna, Mariah, Mariel, and Nick were all communicative, accommodating, helpful, and friendly. We cannot express how happy we are that we chose to go with the Box House Hotel for our wedding venue. First of all, the space was perfect for what we wanted: 150 guests with a great view of the city BUT with a great rainplan that didn't compromise the view (the rooftop is retractable and decisions about keeping it open/closed can be made even on the day of!). From the time of booking, Mariel from the planning team was a total dream to work with. She was very communicative and was always ready with helpful insight and solutions in response to our questions. Nick was also very helpful with getting the AV/lighting package set up and with communicating with our DJ ahead of time.
In the days leading up to the wedding, Daryna and Mariah were absolute pros in getting all of the last-minute details sorted. We appreciated how much they made themselves available to us in the weeks leading up to the wedding, when we had quick questions via email or wanted to meet via video call.
The day of the wedding went even more smoothly than I could have ever imagined. It went without a hitch! Daryna and Mariah were both present on the day of, coordinating the set-up of our space and handling small logistics. We were both so impressed with their work. At the end of our ceremony, when we recessed down the aisle, Mariah was even ready at the end of the aisle with two of our signature cocktails ready for us to drink if we wanted! The attention to detail was unmatched.
After the event, we've received so many compliments from our guests on how much they enjoyed the drinks and food! Seriously, the Box House knocked it out of the park in every way.
We are so grateful to the entire team at the Box House for helping to make our wedding day the best of our lives. We cannot recommend this venue enough!!! -

I am textbook type A. Anal even. Everything about me meant I was barreling towards Bridezilla territory. The best part in this wedding planning process was the Box House as our venue. Every question I had was answered within a few hours, the team was filled with absolute pros, and no detail was forgotten.
I was able to be a chill bride because of them! I had no stress in the months leading up to the wedding thanks to Mariel, and I didn't even have any pre- or day-of wedding stress because Mariah and Daryna had everything covered and communicated everything to us before I could even ask a question.
The proactive team made my life so much easier, but that wasn't the only reason why it was an amazing wedding. The food was FANTASTIC. So many people pulled us aside to comment on the quality of the food and drinks, which is exactly what we wanted! We got to hand pick every single part of the menu, and even the tasting process was a whole operation that proved we were in good hands.
The wait staff was so professional, and all our guests with allergies or dietary restrictions were taken care of perfectly.
Everything that could have gone wrong was addressed months ahead of time (a NYC rooftop means contingency plans for rain, heat, cold, wind, etc, all of which was clearly communicated to us at the time of reservation).
The wedding team at the Box House communicated with our vendors ahead of time, and we didn't need to be involved in day-of logistics at all -- we just dropped off our stuff on Friday and everything was in its place by Saturday morning!
If I was reeeeally searching for something I'd highlight as a "negative," it'd be that the hotel block was only for 10 rooms. But there are so many hotels around this area that many of our friends just booked cheaper hotels nearby or stayed at the Box House without the block discount. (And no one complained about this, but with much larger groups I could see it being a slight inconvenience.)
But overall, the Box House is rated highly for weddings for a reason. To have no stress during the wedding weekend AND have people tell us it was one of their favorite weddings ever? A beautiful combination.
Choosing to have our wedding at the Box House was the single best decision we made in wedding planning. If I had to do it over again, the first thing I'd do is book at The Box House. -

Amazing NYC venue with incredible staff and service
The Box House Hotel was a wonderful venue for our March 2024 wedding. As lifelong NYers who met in NYC, it was important to us to find a NYC venue. From the moment I saw photos of the rooftop event space I had a good feeling about The Box House. The location and the view is spectacular and quintessential NYC. It's a showstopper for both guests from out of town and guests local to the city. The fact that the entire roof is COVERED with heat/temp control is key. It ended up raining 3 inches on our wedding day and it was such a relief that we didn't have to worry about the mess outside. We were beyond pleased with how everything worked out and highly recommend it for any events, especially weddings.
We really like the layout of the event space and the fact that everything is in one room (ie people aren't leaving the dance floor to go to another room to get a drink; you're not sitting down in another room for dinner that's separate from the bar/dance floor). The tasting opportunity is really cool. It's nice they offer this in the evening and set up tables to create the look and ambiance of what you can expect on your wedding day. Everyone in our family was impressed by the food options. The upgrades are nice options but there's also not pressure to go with higher ticket items.
Planning with Mariel was super easy. She sets you up with a comprehensive spreadsheet to help plan and pace what you need to decide on and when. She's also very available for questions along the way. As we got closer to the day she was very amenable - she helped us source beers that were off menu and create a couple of bespoke menu options. Daryna is focused and on top of EVERYTHING on the day of. She never lost her cool which helped us stay calm and excited during the day. From the cocktail hour to the dinner and reception I never thought about anything and never needed to - the entire Box House staff is incredibly professional and multiple guests raved about the food and service. The Korean fried chicken appetizers were a fave! The fact that the Box House team's planning is included in the rate is a real value add. We didn't have an outside wedding planner and I don't think it's necessary given the level of support and expertise you receive with Mariel and team.
Staying in the hotel is beyond convenient. It also allowed for more time for family and friends to be together. We hung out in the lobby bar after the wedding - and even took photos with another bride and groom who were staying at Box House but getting married elsewhere in Brooklyn! The rooms are spacious and the lofts were great options for getting ready ahead of the ceremony. The lobby and bar's eclectic look also makes for unique photo opps. We took a lot of photos in the bar (since it was pouring all day) in the booths and these are some of our favorite photos.
One small piece of advice is to be mindful of the AV requirements/charges. We learned quickly after visiting a few NYC venues that AV/lighting charges are common (which was news to us), so Box House is not uncommon in that regard. Throughout our planning, the status of the AV package and what is REQUIRED was confusing to both us and our DJ. The price ended up being more than we expected so if you want to avoid confusion and unanticipated charges, definitely ask detailed questions about what is required with your contract. -

Dream Wedding -- 10/10
Wow. The Box House Hotel made sure that we had the wedding of our dreams! Daryna, Mariel, Nick, Abbas, and their entire staff are exceptional at what they do.
We had concerns doing our wedding outside of where we live (Florida residents) but all those concerns were put to bed the moment we started interacting with the Box House Team. They were so organized with their questions and follow-ups, doing everything they could to ensure we had the best day.
Thank you so much, Box House! The wedding exceeded our wildest expectations and you were able to create the vision we had so beautifully.

Everything we hoped for
Our wedding was in April of 2023. The Box House Hotel and the team behind it exceeded every expectation we had. They were incredibly organized and supportive throughout the planning process and were a well oiled machine the day of. They made special accommodations for things that were important to us, going far above and beyond. We loved the venue, of course, but the team and their service makes the magic. Our guests are raving about the space, the food, drinks and their overall experience. It was everything we could have hoped for. -

The Box House Hotel Team are incredible. Everyone at the hotel, from the reception staff to the servers and especially the events team, each person handled the day with such care. The Events team shared spreadsheets to help us organize, answered countless questions via email and calls, and helped us feel confident and prepared heading into the wedding day.
The day of the wedding, Daryna and Mariel especially were truly outstanding. They made sure we had enough notice for any changes or events that were happening (they told us ~10 minutes before speeches/our first dance) so we never felt rushed. The day was incredibly seamless and stress-free thanks to their careful planning. I 100% recommend this venue for the views and team! -

Magical Rooftop Wedding
The Box House Hotel is the most magical place to have a wedding. My husband and I fell in love with the space as soon as we saw it. Starting with the open roof and city views, charming string lights, the stunning marble bar, natural greenery and beautiful wooden floors - the Box House gives you the feel of a garden. Abbas, Elizabeth and Daryna were extremely helpful and accommodating every step of the way. Our guests had only amazing things to say about the space, food and service. The venue is a truly unique and practical space, as the roof can be open or closed depending on preference. The roof is already decorated with green bushes, trees and plants as well as outdoor furniture to enjoy the terrace. The string lights make dancing under the starts into the night all the more romantic.
For anyone considering this venue, I highly recommend you do not wait to book! The Box House Hotel is unforgettable! -

My husband and I had our wedding at the Box House on 9/9/22. It was a dream! Our guests could not stop talking about what a beautiful venue it was with the rooftop setting. A big draw for us booking Box House was the team as well - they really do think of everything that needs to be taken care of! The coordinators, Elizabeth and Daryna were super organized and checked in with us periodically. We also could text them any questions or concerns that came up. Daryna was our day-of coordinator and she went above and beyond to ensure everything went smoothly (which it did!). She took care of things we did not even think of without us asking. Food was a huge hit and our guests were still talking about it days later. The bartenders kept the drinks flowing. The hotel staff was kind and helpful. The rooms were chic and picturesque. The service staff also made sure my husband and I ate and got to sample everything. If we could do it all over again, we'd choose Box House every time! -

We have been basking in how amazing The Box House Hotel made our wedding for so long that it has taken nearly a year to write this review. Everything was just perfect. Elizabeth made sure to take excellent care of everything throughout the process and especially the day of. There were a lot of unknowns getting married May 2021 and she was flexible and communicative as our vision and party size changed with vaccine availability. The venue is beautiful, the food is amazing, the hotel rooms are gorgeous and large, and the overall experience was just incredible. Cannot say enough good things. -

Professional and positive team who care
The team is very enthusiastic and proud of their venue and performance. They really helped facilitate all the details in a confident, calm, and friendly manner. Navigating multiple date changes re: COVID would be stressful and present difficulties at many or most venues, but it all worked out great. Our guests still talk about our wedding...6 months later. The Box House Team was incredible. We had a small wedding, about 75 people, and we couldn't have been happier with how the night turned out.
Leading up to the wedding it was very stressful due to the pandemic and normal wedding stressors. Even though at times it was difficult to touch base with the team and some items (like contracts and statements) needed to be relooked, the team always compensated and took accountability for any issues.
Now, as for the day of and the actual night, everything was perfect. The Box House team delivered the most upscale form of hospitality. From the food, service, and drinks. Normally, weddings aren't known for their food and it's something our society has become accustomed to sacrificing. Well, The Box House is redefining that. The food, service, drinks, environment was impeccable. It left us and our guests speechless.
If you are on edge about booking your wedding here, let this be your sign to BOOK YOUR WEDDING HERE. It wasn't just the service and food, but the scenery, the different colors, guest rooms, and overall aesthetics/environment.
At The Box House, your wedding will be extraordinary and remembered for years.

Incredible from start to finish
We could not say enough wonderful things about the Box House!
With a lot of family coming from out of town, we knew we wanted something that showed off the New York City skyline, but still had the neighborhood feel that we loved. We also wanted a rooftop wedding, but had heard horror stories about last minute thunderstorms ruining wedding days. The retractable roof totally put our minds at ease, because we knew weather would not play a factor in location & view.
After originally planning a 2020 wedding, we had to reschedule due to Covid, and everyone at the Box House immediately got the wheels in motion to make the transition to a new date easy, painless, and quick.
Leading up to the wedding, they were extremely organized (which kept us much more organized) and basically planned our wedding down to the minute. They made the process stress-free (or as close as it could be when planning a wedding) by clearly communicating everything we should be doing in advance, and the timeline wedding prep should be done in.
The day of, we rented their suite (would absolutely recommend) to get ready in. Elizabeth and Abbas were so on top of everything and had every little detail (some we didn't even think of!) perfected. Our guests couldn't stop raving about the beautiful and unique venue, and how wonderful everyone who worked there was. A few weeks after the wedding they sent us beautiful wine glasses and a sweet hand written note. I would absolutely recommend the Box House to anyone looking for a beautiful and unique location in Brooklyn! -

The Box House Hotel was a dream venue! We had seen about a dozen venues in the area and when we saw the rooftop (even when raining) we knew this was where we wanted to get married.
The VIEWS were amazing! We organized the ceremony to be at sunset and partied with the NYC skyline in the back at the reception. Our guests loved everything about the venue! The food is also something our guests raved about, It is definitely not your usual "venue" food. We also rented out the lobby restaurant for the after party which allowed us to extend the fun and they even let us bring in pizza so our guests could have a late night snack. It was perfect.
Abbas, Elizabeth & team were amazing to work with. The answers all our questions, allowed us to stop in for additional viewings of the rooftop and gave us great ideas & tips from previous weddings.
If you are looking for a venue that's not the traditional wedding hall, The Box House should definitely be on your list to check out.

We LOVED this venue and the whole Box House team. Elizabeth was incredibly responsive and helpful throughout the entire planning process, and she is really organized and answered all our questions. She even showed my parents and our friend/florist the space ahead of time so he could get a sense of how to decorate. The food is delicious. The view and space are BEAUTIFUL, and the pictures on this website don’t do it justice (they are nice- but it’s even more beautiful when you go and check out the space). Overall, we had an amazing time, we were so happy to bring our friends and family to our neighborhood in Greenpoint and share a beautiful evening with them, and we loved working with the Box House team and appreciate them! I can’t recommend this venue enough. -

My husband and I had our wedding reception at the Box House hotel this past weekend, and we had, hands down, the best experience we could have hoped for and imagined. Elizabeth, Abbas, and the rest of the team were incredibly responsive, flexible, warm, understanding, and reassuring as we planned our wedding this winter while navigating a maze of ever-changing rules related to the pandemic here in New York. They were also open to helping us customize our food and drinks menus, always answered any and every question we had, and made sure every detail was covered. The words used by our guests for the evening included: Perfect. Magical. Absolutely stunning. And that's the truth. Here's why: 1) The people & service: The Box House Hotel staff are consummate professionals who know their stuff. Every detail was thought through and prepared for, while day-of, they were in lock-step across timelines, guests, spacial changes and more. This is a superb team. 2) The space & the views: Of course this is why you do a rooftop, but even with that understanding, BHH blows expectations away. There's the sunset over Manhattan, the twinkly lights' reflections that created stream of lights emanating over Brooklyn below, the choreography of the space itself that easily transitioned from phase to phase and more. 3) The food: The food was fantastic. It felt like it was made to order, arriving at each table perfectly cooked & served. The variety and quality can't be beat (seriously, most weddings it's like a mass produced meal. Here, it matched NYC's best food & Chefs). 4) The value: The all-in price for the Box House came in way more reasonable than any other NY, Brooklyn or Hudson Valley venue we assessed. Not only that, but they go above and beyond at every step - the team, the candles/design, the audio/video partnerships, and more. Thank you Box House for everything! -

Definitely have your wedding here if you can. The rooftop space is unbelievably beautiful with panoramic views of the city (and there's a retractable roof if necessary, which made us less anxious about rain). The staff were incredibly helpful, flexible, and communicative throughout our planning process, and equally so on the day of the wedding itself. Finally, the food - many of our guests said it was the best they'd ever had at a wedding. Again, highly recommend! -

Ah, The Box House Hotel. How do we love thee? Let us count the ways. We got married at TBH on the mot perfect day of our lives, and it's my absolute pleasure to be writing them this review. I'll start with WHY we chose with The Box House. First, from the moment we stepped into the hotel, we felt totally important and cared for - which was a BIG contrast to a lot of the other NYC wedding venues we checked out. From our first time meeting Joe and the team, to the tasting, all the way to the big day, the team supported us at every turn in the road. Aside from the beautiful hotel itself and the gorgeous roof and views, their all-inclusive rate was what sold us. For the uninitiated, in NYC there's this whole thing about renting venues as "raw spaces" and then bringing in eeeverything. For my husband and I with our schedules, this would have been impossible to wrangle - so the fact TBH took care of everything including an on-site DOC, it was a total no-brainer. Next, let's talk about the day of - Y'all, I am type-A. So is my husband. I am ALSO a stress-nightmare-haver and had taken the ol' "Something always goes wrong!" wedding wisdom to heart, so as far as I was concerned, I was ready to put my perfectionism aside and prepared for everything and anything to go awry. And... everything basically went off without a hitch. We were staying in the penthouse suite which had plenty of room for all 12 bridesmaids + groomsmen to get ready, as well as us, and the only time I saw vendors was when they were dropping in to give us hugs and wish us luck. By the time we got to the roof for photos, everything was basically set up, and it looked BEAUTIFUL. The ceremony was flawless and we could even open the roof, and they made great use of all our foliage and florals and neon signage. Krista our DOC was incredible and had everything taken care of for us, I still shed a slight tear just thinking about it! Also I should add that the team sommelier was VERY patient with my wino Daddy-o, and so attentive and accommodating. We take our wine AND cocktails extremely seriously on both sides of the family, and both were excellent. And the food, ah, the FOOD! People are still talking about it. We rolled the dice and went with duck and branzino and they were a huge hit. As bride and groom, we were also able to eat during our own reception - which is apparently very unusual, hahaha. We were treated like the king and queen all night, our cups were always full and we danced the night away with the stunning views of NYC in the background. I'm so glad we have our photos back so I can relive it all just a little. Thank you thank you thank you to The Box House hotel and team! Same time next year? (Just kidding! Kinda. ;)) -

The Box House Hotel:
My husband and I got married here in February of 2019. We couldn’t have asked for a better venue. From the view, to the decor, to the food, through the staff, everything was exactly what we had hoped for! We knew we wanted a rooftop with a view in Greenpoint(our home turf) and The Box House Hotel fulfilled our wish.
From the start, Joe was accommodating and even gave us a last minute showing when my mom and sisters came to town unexpectedly. From there I started working with Xavier, who very politely helped us plan our wedding even though we are procrastinators and not good at planning in advance. Without him I don’t think the wedding would have even happened!! Xavier handled phone calls from our parents and guests like a champ!! Steven was our wedding day coordinator. We had a decent sized bridal party with lots of children and he handled all of them so kindly and professionally.
The food was amazing and we had so many guests rave that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding!
Most of our family stayed at the Box House and with so many people it was like we had free run of the place. It was the perfect venue and the fact that my family could all stay in the same place and hang out in the days leading up and after made it so much better, making the experience an entire week we will never forget, rather than just one night!! Plus, getting ready in the Honeymoon Suite was key!!!
Oh and not to forget, there is a bar available for after the wedding and restaurant for brunch the next morning. So great to have everything at one location!
To everyone looking for a wedding venue-I strongly recommend The Box House Hotel. They will figure out exactly what you are looking for, even if you aren’t quite sure what that is, and make it happen!!
To The Box House Hotel Staff(Joe, Xavier, Steven, and everyone else who made our day perfect)-we really really appreciate everything you did to help us have the most perfect wedding. You all went over and above expectations and both our family and ourselves were blown away by your hospitality. Thanks again!!

Amazing Venue!
My husband and I got married in July 2019. As native New Yorkers and Greenpoint residents we wanted a venue in NYC that felt special and authentic to us. The Box House Hotel was the perfect place! From the decor of the hotel to the outstanding city views on the rooftop, everything is amazing. Our ceremony took place during sunset and the retractable roof was closed to provide shade, during the reception the roof retracted leaving our guests stunned. The feeling of celebrating at the Box House was unmatched. Joe, Xavier, Krista and the rest of staff are kind, attentive, and helpful. They assisted us with planning everything down to the minute, and day of they were there to guide us through. You can tell that they truly love (and are good at!) what they do. Chef Brian is exceptional! The food was absolutely delicious. We got so many rave reviews from our guests! We loved the food so much we immediately made a reservation for their restaurant Madre (located in the sister hotel Franklin Guest House) to celebrate our one month anniversary! Just like our wedding day they took care of us and treated us like we were family. Additionally, the bartenders at the wedding were great! They were super friendly and personable, it made a huge impression on our guests (as a number of them mentioned this to us after the wedding). You can't go wrong with The Box House Hotel! The beauty of the space along with the grace and professionalism of the staff makes this place so special. Highly recommend! -

Perfect NYC venue
We had been looking at multiple Brooklyn wedding venues and the second we walked into the Box House Hotel we knew this one the tight one. The NYC views are unmatched from this amazing rooftop. The space is great for a wedding or large event, with a beautiful bar, multiple restrooms, wood floors and the retractible roof is just the cherry on top. Service was impeccable. Food selection had some amazing options (branzino, potato gratin and churros were crowd favorites!) and was way better than any other wedding food we (or any of out guests!) have had before. Everything was perfect and seamless - our guests are still raving about it! Truly an amazing experience, we are so glad we found this jewel. Planning with Xavier and Krista was super easy - they are on top of their game! The bridal suite is breathtaking. Couldn't recommend the Box House Hotel enough. Perfect venue for a NYC wedding. -

We loved our wedding!
My husband and I loved, loved, loved our wedding at the Box House Hotel. We got married there this past May after a year of planning with Joe, Xavier and their staff. Joe and Xavier were really wonderful throughout the planning process, answering our questions, giving us multiple walk-throughs of the rooftop and keeping things calm and professional during some heated moments between me and my mother. Xavier did a fantastic job helping me with our timeline, working with our vendors and helping us create a unique ceremony space that included two aisles and a tree watering ceremony. His staff even ironed all of our table runners and put string lights in the planters for us. Joe and his team were great the day before the wedding, helping us move all of our DIY floral centerpieces from our suite to their storage room (trust me this was not an easy task given you had to climb 3 flights of stairs to get to our room). At the actual reception, the food and service at the cocktail and dinner were also fantastic. We had a family style dinner with a salad course and entrée course for 175 people. Everyone I’ve spoken to raved about the dinner, the service and the ambience of the rooftop. I think our only issue with working with the Box House was the limited tasting menu provided. We were only allowed one tasting of a handful of dishes. Once we decided on our menu, even if our selected items were different from those at the tasting, we were unable to get a second tasting of our full, final menu. This made us a kind of nervous because ideally you would get to taste your final menu before the wedding. We had to trust that the quality and taste of the dishes on our final menu would be of the same quality of those we had at our tasting. Thankfully, they were. The food, as I said, was delicious, hot, plentiful and delivered to all of our guests in a timely manner. The morning after the wedding Joe and Xavier continued to help us. We hosted brunch at Brooklyn Lantern, the bar and restaurant in the lobby of the hotel. Brunch was delicious and Joe was on hand to hand out leftover wedding cake to our guests while Xavier helped us gather all of our wedding supplies and décor and load it into our cars. Overall, our wedding weekend at the Box House was exactly what we wanted and truly wonderful. -

The Box House was simply amazing. The venue is beautiful and unique, and the views from the roof are spectacular! The entire team was friendly, responsive, flexible, and incredibly easy to work with, from the first email to the night of the wedding. And, THE FOOD! Wow! If you want a beautiful venue with phenomenal people to work with, this is your place! Everything from signing the contract, to the tasting, to day of coordination was seamless. We also had multiple "foodies" come up to us and tell us how good the food is. They were not being nice! The wine was also excellent, and if it's something you care about (I did) use the incredible sommelier to help you make your decision. -

The Box House brought our dream wedding to life. I think we considered every rooftop venue in Brooklyn and couldn’t be happier we went with the Box House. They made everything so easy and did an impeccable job executing our vision. The space was beautiful and the food was fantastic (many said the best wedding food they ever ate). We had our wedding at the Box House and truly couldn’t imagine our wedding anywhere else. We looked at so many different venues and the Box House was the only venue that truly was what we wanted. The roof and views at night are absolutely stunning and the food is incredible.
From the beginning, it was really great working with Abbas, making sure we were comfortable with the contract and walking us and our family through numerous venue tours. Mariel, Daryna and Nick are amazing. They are a dream team and truly am so grateful for their kindness, patience and expertise. We had a ton of questions throughout the year of planning, and when I say a ton, I mean a ton. They were so understanding and would hop on as many calls as I needed to make sure I felt good about all of our plans.
All of our guests would not stop raving about the venue and the food. It is such a unique, cool venue and the food is delicious. My cousin who owns a restaurant stated it was the only wedding he’s been to where the food was at proper temperature and actually delicious!
I also want to highlight the food tasting because it was such a memorable, fun experience. They make it feel like you are at an actual wedding and we could make a little date night out of it. It was so great to be able to try so many different options on the menu - from the passed canapés, to starters, to main courses and dessert - everything was amazing and we were so full after! They even had a wine tasting, cocktail tasting and the photo booth up where we could take pictures home.
Even with some hiccups with the hotel itself regarding room blocks - not box house events - the team was so wonderful and understanding and did everything they could to rectify the situation.
Thank you so much to the entire Box House Events team for throwing us the wedding of our dreams! We only wish we could do it all over again!! -

Amazing Venue and Staff
We got married in November 2019 and from start to finish everything was wonderful! We cannot say enough amazing things about Krista, Xavier, Joe and the entire Box House staff. From the first time we walked in to the Box House and met with Joe we got great vibes. We had visited a handful of other venues in Brooklyn and queens and had been treated very inconsequentially, like if we didn’t book it was ok because there’d be another couple right behind us to fill a slot. Not at the Box House! Joe took his time with us, fitting us in on a Saturday morning before an event, and walked us through the hotel and event space. We loved that TBH was a one-stop-shop, not a “raw” space, and came with everything, including a day-of coordinator. The Box House staff guided us every step of the way and were always available to answer question and set up meetings whenever we wanted to come in. We brought our parents to view the space and after, had dinner at the BK Lantern (the hotel’s restaurant) which really sold them, as the food in the Latern was a good representation of what was to come.
Even our tasting was a great experience, as they set it up as an intimate dinner for two...with Krista present to hammer our wedding details while we ate. THE FOOD! The food is so freaking excellent. Not a bad bite to be had. The menu is extensive, there’s something to please everyone. And we loved that is was offered family style so the guests got the best of everything and didn’t have to pick between dishes. The number one compliment we keep hearing from our guests was that the food was the best they’d ever had at a wedding.
That and the view! The event space itself is very unique and the view is unbeatable. You don’t even have to get crazy with flowers and decor because the view, the string lights and the topiaries already do half the work. Our guests are still raving about the views and some even used photos from our wedding for their holiday cards!
The staff at the Box House is incomparable. They are all so professional and helpful, Krista, our coordinator, made sure every last detail was ironed out leading up to the day and they execute with military-like precision. We had someone bring us a tray with two of every canapé immediately after the ceremony ended (which we inhaled) to make sure we actually got to eat before we started circulating. The staff took care of us so well during the wedding, making sure our glasses were never empty and we had any food we wanted. I got rave reviews from our guests about how friendly and accommodating the servers and bartenders were.
One of our favorite parts of having our wedding at the Box House was the after party! Since the Box House has the brooklyn Latern in the lobby, our guests seamlessly went from partying on the roof, to partying in the lobby bar! (I find people lose steam when having to change locations- so this was perfect!) Krista had suggested ordering pizzas which was a big hit and the night just went on and onfrom there. Shoutout to Dave the bartender who we met after our first meeting at the box house and continued to visit at the Lantern every time we were at TBH and had to have him at the after party. Dave is the best!!
The hotel itself is wonderful and beautifully decorated. Gene was very helpful when it came to booking rooms and even let us have a very late checkout, which we needed. It was so easy and convenient to get ready, get married and go to bed without leaving the grounds.
I would recommend the Box House to anyone planning a wedding. It was the best day of my life (so far) and a party our friends and family will talk about for a long time! -

We got married at the Box House in September 2019 and cannot say enough good things about this amazing venue and team! Not only was the space so unique and memorable (we had guests coming up to us all night raving about how amazing the rooftop was), but we really felt like we were in great hands from beginning to end. Even when we had (what felt like) crazy requests, we were always accommodated and never stressed that it couldn't be done. Our wedding could not have felt like a truer representation of us as a couple, and the Box House was a huge part of that. This was also the only venue we looked at which included a day-of-planner, which initially we did not think of a necessity but slowly we realized how important having one is (shout out to Krista!) What a night. My wife and I were married on 9/28/18, with the cocktail hour and reception taking place at The Box House Hotel. The compliments from our guests were endless - from the food, to the view, the dance space, the ease of accommodations, and more. Simply put, it's a special place. It's not a standard wedding function hall, with countless weddings taking place. When you have a wedding at the Box House, the place is yours. It is you and your guests on that rooftop. Your closest friends and family experience the incredible views. And when it's over, the hotel practically feels like your own. It just has that vibe. That's what made everything special...it just felt like a fully catered (literally and figuratively) experience for you and your guests.
Highlights:
- Retractable roof allows for peace of mind and a great change of pace. Our evening started out cool, but then we opened the roof up as it started to heat up thanks to the dancing
- The food was delicious. We got rave reviews.
- The bartenders were so attentive...our guests certainly felt it
- PLENTY of space. We had 125 guests and were able to comfortably accommodate everyone
- Sound system and lighting was perfect
Minor note If you have any decorations that are intended for the wood panels, please be advised that nails weren't allowed and we didn't have luck with 3M tape. For future couples, would definitely be advised to think through other options in case you are looking to hang decorations.

In the face of sub-zero temperatures, high winds and potential for snow testing our winter wedding dreams, we are extremely grateful to The Box House Hotel, Vesper Events, and Room 11 Productions teams for mobilizing to keep us all safe, warm, well fed, and in high spirits to celebrate this milestone in style. The Box House team, including event designers Daryna and Mariel were creative, attentive, and committed to ensuring our wedding felt like us and developed a warm, inviting, and special look for the event. I appreciated that they handled coordinating gorgeous florals with Pink Jasmine designs. Our day-of coordinator Robyn, along with the team Nick, Joe, Micaela, and Mitchell went above and beyond in ensuring our wedding day would surpass our expectations at both the hotel rooftop and eventually in their sister venue Vesper event space. Both venues promised beautiful cityscape views from 360-degree floor-to-ceiling windows, and when we ended up at Vesper due to inclement weather, the skyline on the Williamsburg waterfront at sunset during our ceremony was simply spectacular. The AV team with their partner Room 11 created a beautiful ambiance with colored lights on their beautiful wave ceiling installation, expertly coordinated with our DJ/musician hybrid team of artists. The catering was outstanding; our guests raved about our menu offerings and we very much enjoyed the tasting experience to make our selections. I was especially excited that our entire menu could be gluten-free without any extra effort, and that they could provide a naked wedding cake in addition to their dessert offerings. I chose The Box House for their all-inclusive package and minimizing the amount of different vendors I needed to work with made the process so much less stressful. The Box House Hotel hosted our welcome drinks and Sunday brunch at The Brooklyn Lantern and our guests also raved about the food and service there, and the guests who stayed in the hotel enjoyed very comfortable stays and complimented the decor and ambiance of the rooms and lobby. We highly recommend The Box House Hotel and Vesper for a beautiful NYC wedding. -

My husband and I got married at the Box House Hotel in Greenpoint, Brooklyn. The venue was so unique and we were sold on it the second we walked in. The lobby features beautiful artwork and vintage stained glass, and the rooftop is the only one that retracts in Brooklyn. When we toured the venue, it was a rainy day, and we were still so in love with everything. The views of the city skyline are amazing. Our wedding night happened to be the most gorgeous night, with an unreal sunset and not a cloud in the sky - it was perfection. The food at Box House is also absolutely incredible. Our guests were raving about how delicious everything was, from the creme brule, to the eggplant, chicken, salad, and passed appetizers. The penthouse suite, which the bridesmaids and bride got ready in was ideal. Spacious enough for us to do hair and makeup and all stay over in the night before. The groomsmen suite was not as ideal as the bridesmaids suite. My husband had lots to unload and keep in his room, and there was unfortunately no elevator access to his room. Walking up three flights of stairs for the bride's father and other members who needed to be in there was not as convenient. The planners/organizers Daryna and Mariah were beyond incredible to work with. They made sure every detail was executed and completed to perfection. They made sure guest welcome bags were handed out, rings were brought to ceremony, the space was decorated as discussed and made us both at ease. They also organized and box up everything for us at the end of the night, which made the morning after a breeze, and we were very grateful for that! We did opt to do a valet service, which worked out to be great for guests traveling from out of town. It was all seamless the day of, but certain details of the valet were not communicated beforehand, which made it a little stressful. Overall, we had the most incredible night ever and the Box House was an absolute dream! Our wedding day was so perfect due to them! Definitely recommend!!! -

This venue is absolutely beautiful, especially at night. If you have a lot of folks coming from out of town they will be very impressed by the views. There are a lot of good places for photographs. The rooftop itself is also great, and you won't need to do much for decor. It's a large space, so you can have the dance floor, tables and other areas for people to hang out. The rooftop is retractable, and although it gets windy, they agreed to bring the roof up for the last half hour of our event which felt amazing. Our wedding was in July, and while it was not too hot the breeze and the roof retracting was a very special touch. They have a day of coordinator to help everything run smoothly- which was extremely helpful. They are very good with food issues. One of my cousins is a vegan (I thought vegetarian oops), and they whipped him up his own meal that night. He said it was really good, not just a plate of veggies which he has been stuck with other times he goes out to eat. Honestly, we had a ball at our wedding, and so did everyone else. I would highly recommend this venue. -

Overall we had a really positive experience with the team at the Box House and it certainly provided one of, if not the most value of the many many venue options we explored in NYC . We most appreciated the flexibility of the space to adjust to our needs and how helpful the team was with any last minute changes and day of coordination. We had a winter wedding and most of our guests were out of town so it was amazing to give them the option to stay right at the venue & the view from the rooftop of the skyline during the reception really made it for us and our guests. -

My wife (still kind of wild to say) and I were married on November 16th, 2018 - on November 15th, 2018 there was a freak snowstorm. Needless to say, it was planes, trains, and automobiles for our friends and family to get there. It was as if NYC had never seen 4 inches of snow. But the Box House Hotel crew was on it - the night before there was snow int eh venue (to protect the retractable roof it was left open) less than 12 hours later it was cleared out as if NOTHING had happened. From then on we worried and wanted for nothing. Joe and Steven were exceptional, as were the servers, kitchen staff, and bartenders. Every person had a smile on their face and wanted you to know they were there to make your day special. From the roof of the venue, you see NYC as it should be seen - it's truly breathtaking. Our food was exquisite, the setup was simple and tasteful, and our external vendors had no issues the day of and leading up to. We were not the easiest couple, we're both project managers and we project managed our wedding from engagement June 30th to the date on November 16th. But Joe was there with us the whole way, and with only a few minor blips because of staff changeover, we had the wedding we both wanted. -

We absolutely had the night of our lives at The Box! Zero complaints about the execution of the event by the serving/bartending staff, kitchen, and management team. The setting is unmatched and our guests won't stop raving about the food, service and attention to detail which is awesome! We had some minor hiccups in planning due to the event team/hotel front desk team changing hands, but it still all came together and was incredible in the end. We left our wedding feeling very taken care of.
I do have one word of warning for future couples though - there is an exclusive contract with the lighting and sound vendor that is not included in the price of renting the room. Their sound and lighting equipment is pre-installed so you have to use them and they charge baseline $525 to light the dance floor with pre-installed LEDs . You also need to pay for a package for sound and labor which is more understandable, but worth noting outside sound or lighting is not allowed - even if your band could supply one or both. Was definitely not something we budgeted for so we were surprised! -

At the end of the day, my husband and I had a wonderful wedding at The Box House Hotel. The ambiance was fantastic and the lighting was stunning. The event was beautifully executed -however - the path leading up to that day was far from easy.
The primary method of communication with the planners and Abbas was email, which consistently required multiple follow-ups and several days to receive a response. There was no direct phone number provided throughout the planning process. When we did get replies, they addressed outdated questions, implying that they were not reading the most recent messages in the thread. After months of this, we sent a respectful email to Abbas and Robyn outlining our concerns and sharing feedback— this was never acknowledged at all.
Originally, one tasting was offered, which is not included in the wedding package. Unfortunately, this fell on a Jewish holiday. When we pointed this out, there wasn’t acknowledgment from the team. We were able to attend another tasting, but since there are only two offered per year, we had to rearrange a previously planned trip in order to make it work.
I had confirmed multiple times with the day-of coordinator about dropping off items on a specific day the week of our wedding. When we attempted to reach her on the agreed upon day,, we received no response. Ultimately another planner replied after being copied on a note.
It was also apparent, based on her comments and questions when we did arrive, that she had not read the recent emails detailing our latest requests.
Further, I had confirmed with her that certain items—extra mirrors and a folding table for the hair and makeup artists—would be in the room on the morning of the wedding. These were not there. After several pushes, they were eventually delivered, but the delay set back the hair and makeup schedule.
When we sent our after party playlist one day before the wedding, the day of coordinator suddenly told us we needed to bring an iPad. Our confusion surrounding this and responses were again unacknowledged. Luckily she was wrong and this was not the case.
Lastly, the day-of coordinator was rude to my husband. In the middle of the reception, she went over him while he was eating and asked how everything was going, to which he replied “everything is fantastic”. Her response was, “That’s so great to hear. From one controlling person to another controlling person it means even more.” My husband was barely involved in the wedding planning and had no clue where this came from.
TLDR: While the wedding itself was wonderful and most of the staff were kind, our planning experience was unnecessarily stressful. I would hesitate to recommend this venue to a friend—or anyone— unless you have your own planner (which might be tough given the 25% administrative fee) because of the communication and coordination challenges we faced.The Box House Hotel's reply:

While our team strives to respond to all inquiries within 24 hours during the week, we do experience slower response times on Fridays through Sundays as our planners are fully dedicated to executing on-site events. This availability is outlined in each planner’s email signature, and we always try to set that expectation early in the process. That said, we understand how important timely communication is during wedding planning and I regret that this caused you stress at times.
I also recognize that there were a few moments where expectations around response times and logistics didn’t align. There were instances when multiple follow-ups came within hours of an initial message and while our planners did their best to respond promptly, this sometimes created confusion in ongoing threads. I appreciate your understanding as we balance the detailed communication required for all of our couples.
Regarding the tasting, as soon as you informed us of the conflict with the original date we were happy to offer an alternate session, and we’re glad you were ultimately able to attend.
Lastly, I want to sincerely apologize for the comment made by Robyn to your husband during the reception. The phrasing was definitely 100% inappropriate for the moment and while she has since personally reached out to apologize and clarify that her intention was light-hearted and well-meaning, I absolutely understand how it came across. We take this feedback seriously and have used it as a training opportunity to ensure greater mindfulness and professionalism at all times.
