About

Located in Lisbon, Ohio, the Barn at Pineridge is a rustic wedding venue. The modern conversion of the barn interior has created a romantic atmosphere that suits all manner of design tastes. First established in 1985, the barn sits on 45 acres of beautiful scenery. Before becoming the wedding venue it is today, the property was known to locals as Pineridge or the YMCA. Ceremonies and receptions are welcomed to this barn setting. New to the property is our second event space called The Lodge. This is an A-frame construction that is intimate and cozy with real wood burning fireplaces for all year around use. This beautiful space has a fully equipped kitchen and can accommodate up to 75 guests. The space is perfect for intimate weddings, showers and rehearsal dinners.

Facilities and Capacity

The Barn at Pineridge covers roughly 3,000 square feet and comfortably seats up to 200 guests. A generous patio covering 1,000 square feet is also available for additional space. It sits beside a picturesque pond, for effortlessly beautiful wedding photos. If you are planning on a larger celebration, the grounds around the barn are perfectly situated for tents. The property is also available for a pre-wedding rehearsal dinner. A secluded property, it also features a more intimate lodge space for smaller gatherings. Inside this construction, you will find large stone fireplaces and a well-appointed kitchen area. This space is attached to a large porch area, for a casual, laidback place to catch up with your loved ones. There is an abundance of space for parking on the grounds.

Services Offered

At the Barn at Pineridge, you are free to work with whatever businesses you believe can bring your vision to life. If you need help finding the right services, the team at the barn has a list of recommended businesses. Large sliding doors on the barn invite a refreshing breeze to flow through your event, for your guests’ comfort no matter the climate. High ceilings enhance this sense of airiness, while wooden beams add a dash of rustic charm. These open doors invite in all the natural light that the Ohio countryside has to offer. When this light fades, unique light installations on the barn’s roof are given their time to shine. Tables and chairs are provided by the team at the barn for you to use on the day.

Think Twice Before Booking – Unprofessional and Misleading

We decided not to move forward with hosting our wedding at The Barn at Pineridge, and we want to share our experience so that other couples can make informed decisions before booking.

Why we canceled

Construction delays & concealment: Projects and updates were not completed on the timeline originally communicated to us. When I asked how they planned to conceal unfinished bathrooms during events, I was told a white curtain would be put up to cover the construction.

Contractors on site: During a visit, contractors were openly smoking marijuana on the premises and then left without doing any work. When we raised this, one of the owners appeared unconcerned and said it “happens all the time.”

Cleanliness issues: The barn still had basketball court markings on the floor, bird droppings, and spider webs. We were told it had “just been cleaned,” which did not match what we observed.

Landscaping / grounds: There was little to no landscaping when we visited, despite being told the venue was “booked every weekend.” The grounds did not look maintained to the standard we expected for wedding events.

Dismissive responses: When I mentioned these concerns as reasons to back out, we were told “The addition to the barn is not and never was something that was promised to ANY client, it’s rather a well appreciated ‘bonus’ to all the current weddings thus far.” That felt dismissive and made us feel unappreciated rather than heard.

No day-of support: The venue provides no assistance with setup or cleanup — everything falls entirely on you or the outside vendors you hire.

Poor communication: We reached out multiple times via email and text with questions and often received no response. We had to send several follow-ups (sometimes a week or more) to get any reply; responses became consistent only after we attempted to cancel.

Refund & release issues
After paying $4,900 in advance and attempting to exit our contract nearly 16 months before our date, the only refund options offered were:

a flat $1,500 partial refund; or

a conditional refund only if the venue rebooked our dates — and only if we agreed to give up our right to freedom of speech by not posting reviews or discussing our experience.

We found that request inappropriate and disrespectful. In the end, we chose to forgo any refund rather than sign away our right to speak truthfully.

Advice to others
We’re sharing this so other couples can make a fully informed decision. Read the contract carefully, ask specific questions about construction timelines, cleaning and landscaping, and confirm what day-of support (if any) is included before you book.
We're all about trust. Our community relies on honest reviews to help you make those big decisions with ease.
