Sunny was great! If you're looking for an officiant that can speak Japanese, English or both then Sunny is for you. He customized our ceremony to be the way we wanted it which was half English half Japanese. This was great as my side spoke only English and hers only Japanese. He reached out to us prior to the wedding to make sure that the wording was to our liking and asked if we had any special requests.

Sunny Kamiya was a delight to work with. We planned our destination wedding from abroad and found Sunny via an internet search. We were looking for a bilingual minister to perform an English-Japanese wedding ceremony, since my fiance's family is Japanese and does not speak English. Sunny was very accommodating and even arranged an initial meeting with us during our scouting trip to Maui a year before our wedding. Sunny is very down-to-earth, respectful, and professional - we immediately felt at ease talking with him and discussing details for our ceremony. He also has a great sense of humor! :)

During the planning process, Sunny was always responsive to e-mail and answered all of our questions promptly. He was organized, helpful, and provided us with a ceremony script to review and modify beforehand. His fee was very reasonable and we paid an extra fee to have him at our wedding rehearsal. It was important to us to have a rehearsal, since many of our wedding party members did not have a good understanding of English and benefited from having a run-through of the ceremony. Sunny did an excellent job at communicating to both Japanese and English-speaking members, making sure everyone knew their duties and what to expect. My fiance's family felt immediately at ease and less stressed knowing that our officiant could communicate in a language that they understood.

On our wedding day, Sunny did a phenomenal job. He incorporated a few Hawaiian elements (including blowing of the conch shell and Hawaiian chant) and also put his own personal touch on the service. You can tell that he takes his job seriously and he was very professional. We incorporated many elements into our service and Sunny guided us carefully with polite/subtle instructions. Our service went seamlessly and smoothly!

We could not have asked for a better bilingual minister and our wedding would not have been the same without Sunny. I think Sunny would perform just as well on English or Japanese only services (and not just bilingual). Words cannot express how much we appreciate Sunny's assistance and we are so happy we trusted him with our wedding.
