I found Lisa through a mutual co-worker of my sister. I like to think of her as Grand Rapids photographers best kept secret. When I found her I was in a bit of a pickle, my wedding was coming up and every decent photographer wanted over 1000 dollars just for a basic package. I mentioned this to my sister while visiting her at work and her friend said her sister did photography and her prices were really cheap but her photography was good. I must admit I was skeptical. So she told me about her FB page (Sun Drawn Miniatures Photography) which I checked out.
To my surprise she was a skilled photographer and her style matched my taste. I sent her a PM and no more than a day later I received a reply. 600 for her basic package and 50 for an engagement session! I was over the moon. When we met she was professional and friendly. She said that her prices were low because she understood herself what it was like to be a bride on a budget.
By February we needed our 'Save the Dates' Unfortunately it was still bitter cold and Lisa had no studio. Afterwords, because we couldn't stay out that long Lisa agreed to let us have another session for free in the summer! I was so happy. Both photos turned out amazing! The day of our wedding came and she was there exactly when she said she was going to be. While I wish she had another photographer to help her get twice the shots she was good about getting both the groom and I despite that.
When the ceremony started I didn't even notice her. She was covert during the ceremony and the reception, she also tolerated some of our camera savvy guests that kept snapping pictures right in front of her. She also got all of the pictures I'd requested during the family and wedding party photos plus others I'd not even thought of! Afterwords she posted 'preview' pics on her site to see just two days after. Only one month later we received the complete set plus an album she'd put together! I won't hesitate to hire her again!
