This review is 6 years late, but, I have to say, Jen was the absolute perfect person for us on our wedding day. She is cool, calm, collected, nothing like me! Her energy was perfect, and captured very special candid moments, which were most important to me. I am not very comfortable in front of the camera, and although there were several portraits, she really listened and captured the feeling of the day, the little expressions, small hand gestures. She is amazing, I love her. She also did our engagement photos which are epic! My friend used her 5 years later, that is how beloved she is. You will not regret this decision, go with your gut. She will make your feel comfortable, and effortless.

Upon first speaking with Jen over the phone, I immediately felt at ease. She not only listened, but was extremely intuitive in understanding what we were going for. Though I think Jen’s work speaks for itself, her professionalism, precision, and extremely personable nature made the process beyond pleasant. She made time to do a walk through of the venue before the day and spent hours on the phone talking over our shots in advance. She was enormously helpful in nailing down our schedule in a way that attended to our preferences and was realistic. I’d pick her again in a heartbeat, and only wish there were more excuses outside of a wedding to get professionally photographed, because working with her was absolutely wonderful start to finish.

Choosing Jen as our photographer for a wedding was one of the best decisions we made! She is an absolute joy to work with, from the first informational call, to the planning, to the day of, Jen made me feel so at ease! She makes sure she gets a comprehensive list of any shots that are "must-haves" for you and even made a few great suggestions to us on the day of the wedding. Jen is quick to respond to questions and does a great job focusing on what the tone is your looking for in regards to your photos. We happened to want someone who would capture some of the more traditional photos ahead of time but would get more candid photos during the reception, which is exactly what we got! Jen also made me and my husband feel so comfortable in front of the camera and was amping us up the whole time, which helped us loosen up. I would absolutely use Jen again and highly recommend her for anyone else to use! Thank you so much again!!

Jen was incredibly easy to work with! Communicating so quickly via email and asking all the right questions to help guide us in our planning. She made good and honest suggestions about what she thought would be best for our special day. Not to mention how immediately easy she made us feel being photographed. 10/10 would recommend!

Choosing Jen at Story and Gold was hands down one of the best decisions I made for my wedding. I was immediately drawn to her unique style.. she made me feel all kinds of emotions for people I didn’t even know. Not many wedding photographers can do that. I wanted to capture those raw in-between moments, which Jen does so brilliantly and (seemingly) effortlessly.

Jen is an absolute pleasure to work with and THE person you want to have leading up to and on your wedding day. She is professional, confident, easy to work with and so talented! Our engagement shoot was a blast. We felt at ease as she joked with us and lightly suggested various poses when needed. I was impressed with her ability and earnestness to scope out the best photo ops. As our wedding day approached, she went over the timeline and details to make sure we were on the same page. On the day of, she kept an eye on the schedule and even drove me to the venue to make sure the first look went smoothly. MVP! She got all of our family portraits in an efficient manner and also got some really cute bridal party shots I wasn’t expecting. Our sunset photos were so much fun to do and some of the best photos I’ll ever have. I felt so confident having her around- not just because it was clear that she was experienced- but because she established herself as part of our team. Jen takes pride in her work and wanted to make sure we had the best day possible. My heart bursts every time I look at my photos so in short, 1000% best & recommend!!!

From our engagement session to our wedding, Jen not only made us feel 100% comfortable while being photographed (which is hard to do), but she also captured everything in a way we could never have imagined. We look at our photos and can’t believe they are ours. Her artistic eye and stealthy ways left us with photos during our wedding that we didn’t know were happening, didn’t feel intruded on or altered and made us look super cool during our portraits. She makes the whole process super easy and leaves you with a gallery that you’re blown away by. We didn’t feel like Jen was just some person we hired for our day, she felt like a piece of our day that we also really cherished. We are forever grateful to have hired Jen and we can’t recommend her enough!

There are a few really critical decisions you have to make for your wedding. Obviously, your partner is the most important. Your venue, sure, yes, sets the tone. But who you choose to capture your day, how you remember it and the feelings and all the details, the photographer I would say is one of the most important decisions. And there's no hesitation in my heart when I say you just need to choose Jen. She was the first photographer we spoke with, and we decided literally 5 seconds after we hung up that we wanted her as a part of our celebration. She creates photos that don't feel like "wedding photos" (in the best way), but still are special and radiant and gorgeous. She is incredibly, unbelievably talented - our preview photos are jaw-droppingly stunning - we can hardly believe it's us! She has great ideas about locations, and creates beautiful photos that aren't overly posed and definitely not cheesy. She captured us naturally, but made us look just so damn good. And it's not just the poses - she manages to capture the emotion and the feeling of the day. We opted to do engagement photos with her, and we're so glad we did - it helped us get to know each other and feel more comfortable with the photo process so it felt way more natural on our wedding day. And she is SO FUN to hang out with. She's kind and funny and creative and thoughtful and super communicative. Her energy is so calming on the day, and she makes taking photos so joyous. Hiring her was the best decision we made for our wedding. In the best way, her and Erica were so secret we hardly even noticed them during our ceremony and reception, but they caught the most amazing moments. (And also took the most amazing shots of our pup, who also loves her.) We could not be happier, we could not recommend her more highly. She absolutely slays, and tbh, we're going to miss her!!

We won a free engagement session with Jen and were blown away by her photos. We already booked our wedding photographer a loooong time ago, but definitely would’ve hired her for our wedding if we could! Working with Jen of Story & Gold was exactly what we hoped for in a wedding-photography experience. She is kind and responsive, listening to our unique requests and turning them into art. She rolled with our slightly unorthodox wedding, capturing the spirit of our event perfectly. She was communicative without inundating us and we felt well cared for throughout the experience. I first hired Jen through a mutual connection for my City Hall elopement. Not only was she reasonable with her pricing, but what sold us was her enthusiasm and passion for what she does.

After our amazing city hall shoot, we knew we had to call her again for our larger vow renewal the following year. Again, she was such a delight and captured the best moments (she has such an amazing eye, it's crazy). And I'd be remiss if I didn't mention the fact that she literally fell into a fountain shooting our "first look", injured herself, and KEPT ON SHOOTING FOR THE EVENING.
