Kim and Chef are awesome! We had BBQ at our pi day wedding, and the food was a hit! More than that, they were super supportive when our guests started cancelling because of COVID. While they couldn't change the count (since they'd already bought the food), they did add a coffee bar and just offered general encouragement and support. We really appreciate that.

Their food is fantastic! I didn't hear any complaints, and we've been eating the leftovers for over a week now and we're still not sick of it! They also took various pictures and sent them to us, which was really nice. We won't get our professional photos for at least another month. It's nice to have something to look at!

Another nice touch, they made to-go plates for us. Their sesame bbq meatballs are our absolute favorite, and were one of the items that went super quickly at the wedding. We only got a few. Turns out they set aside a small pile just for us!! That was such a happy surprise!

They are the nicest people who make fantastic food. Great caterers! Definitely check them out! Also, put our menu below. They offer great desserts, too. But since it was Pi Day, we went with a different vendor for dessert. After all, what's Pi Day without PIE? :)

Stone Soup was, no question, one of our best wedding vendors. We both love food and love feeding people, so we wanted our wedding meal to be delicious. Also, we eat mostly vegetarian at home and have eaten many a sad, half-roasted vegetable mixture at other weddings, so we were determined that nobody was going to be stuck doing that at ours. We knew we had several guests with dietary restrictions, and on top of it all, we were trying to to stick to a budget.
Well--as they say, Stone Soup loves a challenge! Kim and Chef were amazingly helpful through the whole process. They worked with us to help us stay in budget, Kim sent us fabulous guidance, answered all of our questions promptly, and best of all--the food was amazing! Everyone told us how good it was. Chef and Kim also took good care of us the whole night. Have you heard horror stories about not getting to try any of your own appetizers? That won't happen here--Kim kept checking on us to make sure we ate and stayed hydrated, plus they packed us some leftovers at the end of the night.

Bottom line: You can't go wrong with Stone Soup, period, but especially if you are vegetarian/vegan or have dietary restrictions, and want interesting, delicious food, hire Stone Soup. They will go above and beyond for you.

Speaking as Mom of the Bride, Chef Robert and Kim Zello delivered from the get-go: professional know-how, sound guidance laced with abundant warmth, humor, and wisdom, delicious and beautifully presented food served by a happy and engaged service team. From day one, Kim expertly advised us, sensitive to our budget, sharing years of experience dealing with issues like food preferences, allergies, and weather concerns, offering workable options when we were struggling with a decision. Stone Soup is very familiar with our venue (Rockwood Manor), which made for a seamless event. We liked that Stone Soup would provide a bartender, and we could purchase our favorite wine, beer, etc. with guidance from Kim as to varieties and quantities. Her advice on all matters proved to be spot on, and I found myself amazingly calm by ceremony time. All evening, I heard raves about the food. The seasonings and selections were just right. The dishes from our buffet blended beautifully together on the plate and the palate (my personal gold standard for food). The pastries and cookies were amazing, as was the Tequila Sunrise cake which had special meaning for the bride and groom. If you are familiar with the Stone Soup folk tale, you will understand why this catering team stands out from the rest. They are all about community, family, and sharing. Can't say enough how delighted we are with our choice of Stone Soup as caterer. Agree with others that Stone Soup was our best decision! If you are planning a wedding, try to meet Chef and Kim at one of the wedding vendor events hosted by Montgomery County Parks.

Hiring Stone Soup for my wedding was the best decision I made in the entire wedding planning. They took on so much more than the food/drink to make sure things went smoothly leading up to and on the night of the wedding. Kim offered suggestions on all things that I needed help with such as table arrangements, day of coordination, etc and even sent me a reminder a week before my wedding about things like practicing the bustle on my dress and bringing a change of shoes. The menu/services are fully customizable to fit any budget. Kim offered advice when needed but never pressured me to do anything a certain way or upsell me. I received so many compliments from my guests about the food and level of service provided. I wish I could give more than 5 stars because Stone Cold Catering is so much more. I highly recommend them!!!

If you even have Stone Soup on your list - don't even look at anyone else. They are hands down the BEST caterers, people, and wedding guru's. To start - I had originally booked a different venue, with a preferred caterers list (oops) and Stone Soup was not on it. They went the extra mile to GET approved. When I switched venues, they still came through for me. Kim answered any and all questions, no matter how silly, or what time of night I reached out. She gave me options to fit my budget, advice on table settings, alcohol count, and even timing of the ceremony. She even went as far as to draft up 4 different food plans, all the way down to linen & dishes cost. When I met Kim & Chef - they immediately made me feel like family, like we were long-time friends and I knew that I could trust them. In addition to being literally the most amazing people - lets talk food. Their FOOD. I heard from multiple guests that it was the best wedding food they have ever tasted, and I have to agree. We did a buffet, with jerk chicken, tequila beef sliders, mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, ginger slaw, and a cranberry/blue cheese salad. I recommend ANY of those dishes to anyone planning their menu - how does a buffet keep sliced chicken breast so moist? I dont know - but they did it. I would go to bat for Stone Soup any day, they were a wonderful addition to my wedding in both personality and deliciousness. If you do book them, please invite me, so I can have their food again.

My fiance and I choose Stone Soup Catering for our wedding and it was one of the best choices we made! Chef and Kim are awesome to work with. I really cannot say anything but positive things about the both of them. Both are very personable, detail oriented, understanding, flexible and professional. Chef makes seriously fantastic food. We were thrilled with how everything turned out and multiple guests commented on how unique and great tasting their food was! Moreover, their staff were professional and helpful. Several of them went out of their way to assist more with cleanup when a few people ducked out last minute.

Kim and Chef were incredible - I could not have had a better experience at my wedding from start to finish with their invaluable help. We first met Kim and Chef at the Brookside Gardens catering vendor showcase - many caterers there told us that we were booking too late (even though our wedding was over six months away) and made us feel like our wedding of 75 guests wasn't worth their time. Kim and Chef immediately struck us as in a different league entirely. They were happy to chat with us and assured us that we weren't booking too late at all! Kim made the planning process simple and easy after we finalized our booking. She thought of everything! On the day of, everything seemed to come together magically. The staff were true professionals - our bartender was INCREDIBLE. We bought the ingredients for a signature cocktail - a blue curacao maragarita - and she mixed it better than we EVER did at home. The food was simply delicious. Kim and Chef kept things on schedule and brought us our own plates so we didn't have to wait in the buffet line. At the end of the night they sent us home with prepackaged leftovers that we've been eating for the last week with great gusto - colby dijon mac n' cheese, cole slaw, pulled chicken sliders, and their amazing cake! We ordered a huge selection of their desserts in addition to our wedding cake, and boy were we happy to take home the leftovers. I've been eating Kona Rum Crunch cake for breakfast for days, and I'm not tired of it yet. I would HIGHLY recommend Stone Soup Catering. I couldn't have asked for a better experience working with such lovely talented people.

P.S. I forgot to mention that Kim and Chef were lifesavers when one of our guests emailed the week before the wedding to inform us of a very long list of allergies...! Kim and Chef communicated directly with the guest to make sure she had something safe to eat. They were so helpful!

When I was researching vendors, I was skeptical that Stone Soup had a perfect 5 star review everywhere I looked. After working with them, I absolutely understand the reviews and would give more stars if I could! Kim was super familiar with our venue (the Lodge at Little Seneca Creek) and basically acted as our wedding coordinator, arranging for tablecloth rental, drawing up floor plans, bringing in bartenders, suggesting day of tips, and so much more. All of this work, and they were still far more affordable than any other caterers we looked at. If we had worked with anyone else, our wedding day and planning process would have been 10x more stressful. Kim and Chef put together a delicious menu that accommodated many taste preferences and dietary restrictions and even created a new bread recipe specifically for our wedding. My one regret is that I didn't get to eat more of the food!

I cannot praise Kim and Chef enough on how integral their role was in making our wedding day a magical one! When you hire Stone Soup to cater your wedding, you get so much more than food. Kim and Chef make your day their day, too. The moment we met them we knew they would be fun to work with! When it comes to communication, Kim was quick to respond with emails. She was great about planning a time for us to come try the food. We never felt rushed when we met with them, we felt like we were their only client (but we knew we weren't and so it made it that much more meaningful). On the day of the wedding, everything went smoothly! Kim was cool, calm, and collected and she helped keep me (the bride) that way too! During the reception I heard so many people complimenting the food. Any obstacle that we met during the day, Kim met with grace. I would recommend Stone Soup to every couple!

Kim and Chef are the best! We absolutely loved working with them. Kim's ideas and encouragement over the past year were invaluable. Throughout the whole planning process, she was always there to answer any question or allay any worry. And Chef's food - WOW! Probably our most difficult decision was deciding on a menu because everything Chef makes is amazing. Our easiest decision was hiring Stone Soup Catering in the first place.
