In the spring of 1896 a group of five men decided to organize their own golf club. They went on to draft a letter with a signup sheet for people interested in being members of their club to meet the financial obligations of running a club. They got 123 signatures and went on to look for land to build their new club. In 1897, the first meeting of St. David’s Golf Club took place on Francis Fenimore’s property, a man that allow the founders to use his land. And that is how the St. David’s Golf Course came into existence. They had many years of land changes and leadership changes to get to where they are today.
