Of course, I had dreams of a glamorous wedding reception in some posh place, but those dreams came to a screeching halt when I realized how much a reception like that would cost. Once reality set in, I knew I would need a place that was affordable and still large. The Elks Lodge is that. The venue is never going to be featured in a bridal magazine, but it's inexpensive, large, and the staff is very friendly. The great thing about this place is that they set up the tables and chairs for free, and we were allowed to decorate however we wanted. It was a very simple reception, but I appreciated it more because it became about the people there instead of the fancy decor.

The site was simple and what we were looking for. They set up and tear down all tables and chairs at no additional cost. Beware of the lady in charge of booking the lodge. Sometimes it takes a couple of days for her to return your call and then she'll talk your ear of. And don't expect her to care about your preferences. Be stern with what you want for your special day.
