Spruce Mountain Ranch is a wedding venue on a historic ranch situated in Larkspur, Colorado. Sophisticated and rustic, the event spaces offer both convenient amenities and stylish interiors well suited to weddings and other events. It is located just 30 minutes from both Denver and Colorado Springs, making it easily accessible to guests. The staff at this family-owned ranch are enthusiastic about welcoming couples to their mountainous retreat.
Facilities and Capacity
Located on 450 acres, Spruce Mountain Ranch is divided into two event areas, each with outdoor and indoor options for events. This allows couples the ability to host their wedding in any season. Elements like stone and wood architectural details, fireplaces, lush landscaping, and more help to create a tranquil and refined vibe. On the Lower Ranch, ceremonies can begin in Grace’s Chapel, a garden site with a whimsical willow tree. From here, Spruce Mountain can be seen in the distance. Vow exchanges can also take place at Mountainside, which features a pond and vistas of the sprawling ranch. Both of these ceremony areas can accommodate up to 250 guests. Outdoor receptions can be set up on The Courtyard, which can also serve as a setting for “I dos.” It is in between The Colorado Room and Albert’s Lodge. Both of these indoor locations are suited for ceremonies and receptions. Their lodge-inspired layouts create an inviting ambience for festivities of between 80 and 250, depending on the chosen banquet hall.
The Upper Ranch similarly features indoor and outdoor options. Vows can be heard by loved ones in the wide-open Trey’s Vista, a spot that immerses guests in the landscape. Galas with 1,200 guests can be held in The Ponderosa Room. Extending from this space is The Spruce Room, which can be used alone or with The Ponderosa. Outside, The Courtyard works as an area for cocktails, or for ceremonies and receptions. Couples may also express their love and commitment at the waterfront Lakeside Terrace which additionally works for rehearsal brunches.
Services Offered
At Spruce Mountain Ranch, a property manager will be present to facilitate a couple’s use of the space. Many rental packages include access to both indoor and outdoor spaces. The staff provides setup and cleanup services in addition to dressing rooms for the couple’s convenience. Parking is also available. Tables and chairs for the ceremony and reception can be provided as well. The venue is outfitted with contemporary amenities that are integrated into spaces featuring hand-crafted touches, blending the best of both worlds.

Best Night of Our Lives!
SMR made the process of preparing for our wedding seamless, and they were always happy to help with any questions we had. We did not have a wedding planner but did use a month-of coordinator (SMR requires at least day of coordination). SMR even had a staffing change when one of their senior staff members retired during our planning process, but they handled the transition seamlessly.
As far as wedding venues in Colorado go, I really think SMR will give you the most bang for your buck, so to speak. The staff and physical space were well worth the money we spent!
It was the greatest night of our lives, and we wouldn’t change a thing!

The setting itself is breathtaking – Colorado in September gave us golden sunlight, crisp air, and the most stunning natural backdrop we could have hoped for. But what truly made the day unforgettable was the team behind it all. Every single person we worked with went above and beyond to make us feel special, supported, and stress-free. You could tell they genuinely cared and took pride in what they do.
The attention to detail, the thoughtful touches, and the smooth coordination allowed us to be fully present and soak in every moment. Our guests are still talking about how beautiful and well-executed everything was!
If you're looking for a place where your wedding day will feel not only magical but also truly yours, I can't recommend this location enough. It was the best decision we made, and we’ll cherish the memories forever.

The Best Wedding Venue!
Most stunning and operationally smooth wedding venue!
Our experience touring the venue a year and a half ago, coming back for the Wine & Nosh event, and doing our 30 day walk through all made the planning process so smooth and exciting for us and our families. The multiple ceremony locations are all gorgeous, and we were thrilled to be able to get married mountainside with the natural beauty of Colorado in the background. Our guests loved cocktail hour and the indoor/outdoor dinner & dancing set up. Spruce is truly a 5 star wedding venue because of its natural beauty and the organization/care the team takes in scoping out all the details, like 2 beautiful getting ready suites for the bridesmaids & groomsmen, shuttles to take guests up mountainside, and open air string lights for late night dancing. Spruce is also a popular spot that many of our vendors were familiar with, which made logistics even smoother since our bartenders, caterer, DJ, planner, and florist had all done multiple weddings at Spruce before and had great recommendations on what could work well with our vision.
We hope to come back for future events and are so happy to have gotten married at Spruce!

Indeed, once you learn about the Ranch's roots as a family property it's easy to understand why everyone they team up with receives such a high degree of attention and service. If you haven't been, the Ranch is set amid stunning acres nestled against the mountains. The various indoor spaces have a classic Coloradan lodge feel but are also modern, luxurious, and chic. It's a perfect mix of everything you'd want in a venue, and while it feels pleasantly removed from the city, it's only a short drive from Denver and The Springs. We truly can't say enough about how much we love this venue and how much respect we have for the team running it. That's why it's our first suggestion for weddings and corporate events!
