John provided excellent services and the dance floor was never empty!

John did an excellent job, everything went perfect.

We contracted John for our April 25 wedding. From the get go we knew we had made the right decision. He met with us multiple times before our wedding to iron out details and make sure we got everything we wanted out of our DJ services. He also was about $1000 less than anywhere else had quoted us. Let me say this . . . john did a great job day of. He had to set up in three spaces, and still keep the party going. He did just that. He also had to make sure are guests knew where to go and when, and he also did that. My only gripe is that he ran our wedding with a somewhat militant attitude; telling us exactly how he wanted things done, and how it was going to be. It all worked out in the end, but at times he seemed almost to demanding. For example. My husband and groomsmen had decided to hold their hands behind them during the ceremony. During our rehearsal, John called and said to make sure all the guys held their hands in front of them. Our officiant had already gone over this with them and said as long as they were all doing the same thing it was fine. Day of the wedding, John went into the Groom's room and again demanded they all hold their hands in front of them, or pictures were going to look bad. My husband felt awkward doing this, and it shows in pictures. He was also really big on hand signals, directing the wedding party and what not. I guess we can chalk it up to him being really intense about doing a good job, but at times it was somewhat harsh and bossy. Other than that though, he did do a really good job, and was also an incredible value. I would recommend him for events, and If needed I would hire him again.

We gave John as much information as we could to let him know our tastes. We do not like your typical wedding songs-- brown eyed girl, electric slide, chicken dance, etc. which may have made it a little more difficult for him. As he requested, we gave him a 'do not play' list. We also gave him songs to definitely play, and then a long list of songs we like in order to give him an idea of our taste. We were clear that these were preferences and we respected his professional experience to gauge the crowd and go with the flow a bit, too. We also let him know we really only wanted music, and ONE announcement when speeches were being made. No other speeches/ announcements. At the wedding, he clearly did not plan out a play list. He approached me 5-6 times throughout the night for guidance. Once was to tell me he had played all of our 'definitely play' songs so could he move on to such and such? I realized he hadn't played my mother-in-laws favorite song, to which the groom and she were supposed to dance, and had to point that out. He also made multiple speeches, including one saying "the bride loves puff daddy so..." (I do not, John, I was just busy and wanted you to stop talking to me so I said OK to play it) and another one at the end saying something along the lines of "the bride gave me permission to play this...." -- really inappropriate. There was a good 2 minutes of NO music at one time because it started raining. I understand you have to draw the tent side down to cover your equipment better, but hit the play button first. Lastly, we paid him cash at the wedding. We had already paid a deposit, which my husband forgot about, so he counted out the full amount agreed upon when handing it to him. He didn't correct him. Dishonest. Unoprofessional. I really regret booking this guy.
