Kelly from Soyi Makeup was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding in San Francisco on 10/11/25 and she was incredible! I am not someone who wears a lot of makeup nor knows how to apply it - I told Kelly this, and asked to look as natural as I could while still enhancing natural features and show up well in photos. Kelly absolutely nailed what I wanted - she took my inspiration photos and commentary and executed it perfectly. She was able to talk me through my questions and concerns, give thoughtful advice, and ultimately give me a service I absolutely loved! She did the same with my hair - for this, I came in with a very specific vision and showed her several inspo photos (including one of my own hair) and she was able to execute it flawlessly while making sure it was secure and comfortable for the entire wedding day.

I also had Nini and Kelly from Soyi Makeup do the hair and makeup for my bridesmaids and they all absolutely loved the results and felt beautiful. My maid of honor even said she's never felt prettier and wants to hire Soyi Makeup for her wedding next summer! Soyi Makeup also delivered amazing results but efficiently and quickly - Nini straightened my bridesmaid's very long, curly hair and did her makeup in an hour and kept us right on schedule.

Overall, Kelly was highly professional, courteous, and kind. On what could be a very stressful day, she made me feel at ease and beautiful by bringing her calming presence and genuine kindness into the room. I highly recommend Soyi Makeup to all brides!

I cannot recommend Kelly enough. From the moment we met, she put me completely at ease and made me feel like the best version of myself. Beautiful but still natural and true to me. She did my make up for my engagement and wedding day. I got so many compliments on how flawless I looked throughout the day. She and her team also worked magic on my mom, sister in law, mother in law, and bridesmaids. Every single one of them looked radiant and confident.

I emailed Kelly with a list of questions and she took the time to call me and answer and clarify all of my questions, which I appreciated. She was clear and thorough and this allowed me to make an easy decision to hire her. Her contract was clear and I had about a week to sign and pay the deposit.

We did a bridal trial and she sent me a questionnaire beforehand asking for what type of look I am going for, how much makeup I usually wear, and pictures of me and my hair. On the day of the trial, she seemed to know what to do and I didn’t have to guide her at all. We had a misunderstanding of how I wanted my eyebrows to look but they were fixed and looked amazing the day of. I wasn't convinced with the fake eyelashes she put on but then she found me a pair that I loved. She suggested a face mask for my dry skin, which helped for the wedding day. I told her what type of hairstyle I wanted and she was able to do it flawlessly and effortlessly.

I was unsure about my schedule and what time and where I needed Kelly to be. She was very patient with my uncertainty and accommodating once it was finalized.

Day of, she showed up right on time and remembered everything we talked about and went straight to work and I didn't have to remind her of anything. She came to my home and it was filled with my Chinese speaking relatives. She is fluent and that was nice because everyone wanted to talk to her. She was kind and gracious to everyone and still able to do her work diligently even with the distractions! She also did my mother’s makeup and my mother-in-law’s.

I had 2 hairdos (before ceremony and before reception) that I absolutely loved and I got so many compliments (someone told me I should wear my hair like that all the time). All my friends wanted to know who did my makeup and they watched her do my touchups. I got compliments that I looked like a movie star. My mother looked incredible and got complimented that she looked like a queen. My MIL was gushing about how much she loved Kelly’s work and she wants to hire her again. We were all in heaven thanks to Kelly!

It was a wonderful experience to work with an expert like Kelly for my wedding. She is so sweet, professional, and accommodating. Also, she explains everything clearly and her responses are always prompt.

For my bridal trial, I had a makeup style I preferred in general but otherwise not much else in mind for my wedding look. With her expertise, she was easily able to turn my vague ideas and comments into reality and I loved the end result. In the past, I had poor outcomes with makeup artists that didn't have experience with Asian features and tried western makeup techniques on me instead, but it didn't look great. With Kelly, I was amazed at how good she made my face look but still kept it natural. We had a good laugh when I kept repeating it was "my face but better." Also my straight/thick hair doesn't hold curls well, but she was able to beautifully style my hair without it feeling too crunchy from hairspray and it kept its curls all-day!

Also, I was coordinating my own wedding because it was so small, so I was getting overwhelmed with all the vendor emails as we got closer to the wedding date (because work and life still go on and planning a wedding on top of that is stressful). Despite that, she was still prompt and patient with me despite my slow response time and last minute additions to the list of people getting their makeup done. Both her and Nhini were wonderful to work with on the day of the wedding and we finished on time despite some delays with the wedding party. All of us had received touch-up kits too!

I was so lucky to be able to find Kelly as my stylist 4 months before my wedding day as I had to postpone my 2020 wedding twice. From the beginning, Kelly was very patient and answered all my questions in detail to ensure I felt comfortable with everything. She understood my vision right away and created a style that was even better than I imagined. She created a timeless and effortless look that looked amazing on all 3 dresses that I wore on my wedding day and only required minimal change of style for the accessories. Her skills are superb and I never felt so beautiful and also natural. On top of her amazing makeup and hair skills, she is super detailed oriented and she went above and beyond to help, even putting on boutonnieres for the groomsmen. My mom is a bit picky person, but she was especially impressed with Kelly with her skills for makeup + hair and also her attention to details.
