  Movie star hair and makeup for bride and moms!

  Kelly made me feel like the most beautiful person for my October wedding. She is a true professional and she knows what she is doing, even if you don't know what you want!
  
  I emailed Kelly with a list of questions and she took the time to call me and answer and clarify all of my questions, which I appreciated. She was clear and thorough and this allowed me to make an easy decision to hire her. Her contract was clear and I had about a week to sign and pay the deposit.
  
  We did a bridal trial and she sent me a questionnaire beforehand asking for what type of look I am going for, how much makeup I usually wear, and pictures of me and my hair. On the day of the trial, she seemed to know what to do and I didn’t have to guide her at all. We had a misunderstanding of how I wanted my eyebrows to look but they were fixed and looked amazing the day of. I wasn't convinced with the fake eyelashes she put on but then she found me a pair that I loved. She suggested a face mask for my dry skin, which helped for the wedding day. I told her what type of hairstyle I wanted and she was able to do it flawlessly and effortlessly.
  
  I was unsure about my schedule and what time and where I needed Kelly to be. She was very patient with my uncertainty and accommodating once it was finalized.
  
  Day of, she showed up right on time and remembered everything we talked about and went straight to work and I didn't have to remind her of anything. She came to my home and it was filled with my Chinese speaking relatives. She is fluent and that was nice because everyone wanted to talk to her. She was kind and gracious to everyone and still able to do her work diligently even with the distractions! She also did my mother’s makeup and my mother-in-law’s.
  
  I had 2 hairdos (before ceremony and before reception) that I absolutely loved and I got so many compliments (someone told me I should wear my hair like that all the time). All my friends wanted to know who did my makeup and they watched her do my touchups. I got compliments that I looked like a movie star. My mother looked incredible and got complimented that she looked like a queen. My MIL was gushing about how much she loved Kelly’s work and she wants to hire her again. We were all in heaven thanks to Kelly!

  Kelly did an amazing job with my wedding makeup and hair! She accommodated every little ask I had of her during the actual makeup and hair session. She is so sweet, friendly, professional...but most importantly TALENTED! I absolutely loved both my makeup and hair. I can't recommend her enough.

  Amazing Hair and Makeup Artist

  Kelly has been extremely flexible in working with me to plan my wedding week. With all the changes during the pandemic, she has been very accommodating. The bridal trial helped her to incorporate your feedback into your big day. Every time she did my hair and makeup she improved upon it so that the last time was absolutely amazing. I would highly recommend Soyi Makeup for your special events!

  Kelly is a makeup magician

  It was a wonderful experience to work with an expert like Kelly for my wedding. She is so sweet, professional, and accommodating. Also, she explains everything clearly and her responses are always prompt.
  
  For my bridal trial, I had a makeup style I preferred in general but otherwise not much else in mind for my wedding look. With her expertise, she was easily able to turn my vague ideas and comments into reality and I loved the end result. In the past, I had poor outcomes with makeup artists that didn't have experience with Asian features and tried western makeup techniques on me instead, but it didn't look great. With Kelly, I was amazed at how good she made my face look but still kept it natural. We had a good laugh when I kept repeating it was "my face but better." Also my straight/thick hair doesn't hold curls well, but she was able to beautifully style my hair without it feeling too crunchy from hairspray and it kept its curls all-day!
  
  Also, I was coordinating my own wedding because it was so small, so I was getting overwhelmed with all the vendor emails as we got closer to the wedding date (because work and life still go on and planning a wedding on top of that is stressful). Despite that, she was still prompt and patient with me despite my slow response time and last minute additions to the list of people getting their makeup done. Both her and Nhini were wonderful to work with on the day of the wedding and we finished on time despite some delays with the wedding party. All of us had received touch-up kits too!
  
  I would really recommend Kelly for her expertise, professionalism, and positivity for any occasion. Thanks so much Kelly and Nhini for making my wedding day even more special for my family and me!

  Loved my look!

  Kelly did my hair and makeup for my engagement photo shoot, and then for my bridesmaids and me for my wedding. She is friendly and responsible. For the engagement shoot, I came over to her studio, which was clean and cute. For the wedding, she and Nadia came over to my apartment and did everything here. We all loved our hair and makeup! Thank you! :)

  I was so lucky to be able to find Kelly as my stylist 4 months before my wedding day as I had to postpone my 2020 wedding twice. From the beginning, Kelly was very patient and answered all my questions in detail to ensure I felt comfortable with everything. She understood my vision right away and created a style that was even better than I imagined. She created a timeless and effortless look that looked amazing on all 3 dresses that I wore on my wedding day and only required minimal change of style for the accessories. Her skills are superb and I never felt so beautiful and also natural. On top of her amazing makeup and hair skills, she is super detailed oriented and she went above and beyond to help, even putting on boutonnieres for the groomsmen. My mom is a bit picky person, but she was especially impressed with Kelly with her skills for makeup + hair and also her attention to details.

  Kelly worked her magic and made me look great on my wedding day - even though I wasn't able to sleep at all the night before! My wedding was outdoors at Yosemite, and the hair and makeup stayed on until late at night. Kelly tailored my look to match the outdoor setting and my simple wedding dress. She also did my back make-up and gave me tips on how to put on and remove the veil without messing up my hair. Kelly is very professional and was accommodating to my very last-minute decisions - I highly recommend her!   I've never felt so beautiful!

  I am so happy K. Saw Weddings, our planner, recommended SOYI Makeup! Her portfolio is gorgeous but I was not prepared for how I would look after my hair and makeup trial! She had a great questionnaire before the trial that helped me narrow down what I wanted, then we chatted and went over options to make sure we were on the same page and I loved the finished look. She was super attentive to COVID guidelines, and I felt incredibly safe working with her. I normally don’t wear a lot of makeup or like how it looks on me, but what she used made me actually feel glowy and gorgeous - and my skin felt amazing after I took it all off, which was a nice surprise.
  She came to our hotel on the wedding day to do my hair and makeup and my two bridesmaids’ - they both looked amazing! She showed them how to place my veil and make sure it wouldn’t wreck my hair after the ceremony.
  Even with the three of us, she kept perfectly to the schedule and finished in time - we talked about a couple of adjustments after the trail and I have never felt so beautiful! My updo and wavy little curls were still perfect after hours outside and even after my long veil kept catching on the fountain at our venue and yanking my head. She gave us all touch up kits to manage things like mask marks and lip color and it was perfect. My bridesmaids looked absolutely gorgeous and all of us felt beyond beautiful!

  Kelly is the only makeup/hair expert you want with you on your wedding day!

  Kelly did my hair and makeup for my wedding two days ago. She was awesome! She is the only person you want to be with you on your wedding day and make everyone feel special. My brides maids all wanted something different, curly, straight, updo, light makeup, more striking makeup and she did it all and everyone felt beautiful. I myself feel more comfortable with natural make-up and she did it perfectly. So many complements. Love the lashes and the pictures were beautiful!!! I cannot say enough wonderful things. Thank you so much Kelly. You are excellent at your job and make brides feel so comfortable and pretty. It is a gift.

  Disney won't make you a princess, but Kelly will!

  There are so many reasons to choose Kelly and I don't even know where to start!
  
  Kelly was my hair and makeup artist on my special day, she is so skillful and made my makeup and hair perfect. I got so many compliments on my makeup - it's beautiful yet very natural, perfect for Asian brides who prefer the "nude makeup" look. My hairstyle is as beautiful as it can get, and all it takes to get the perfect hair is to Google the hairstyle you want and show it to Kelly and she will get the work done!
  
  Kelly is also so helpful and thoughtful! She was by my side nearly ALL the time during my photoshoot to make sure my makeup and hair looks nice, and helped me to carry my bouquet when needed. She also helped me to stuff some tissue inside my bouquet in case I want to cry during ceremony.

  Kelly was my hair and makeup artist on my special day, she is so skillful and made my makeup and hair perfect. I got so many compliments on my makeup - it's beautiful yet very natural, perfect for Asian brides who prefer the "nude makeup" look. My hairstyle is as beautiful as it can get, and all it takes to get the perfect hair is to Google the hairstyle you want and show it to Kelly and she will get the work done!
  
  Kelly is also so helpful and thoughtful! She was by my side nearly ALL the time during my photoshoot to make sure my makeup and hair looks nice, and helped me to carry my bouquet when needed. She also helped me to stuff some tissue inside my bouquet in case I want to cry during ceremony.

  Kelly was the best!

  I am sooo glad I found Kelly online to do my wedding makeup! We started with a trial a few months before my wedding, and I observed what worked well and what could have been improved (ie. eyeshadow on my oily eyelids didn’t hold up well the first time), but for the wedding day we took that into account so Kelly tweaked her technique and my makeup lasted all day! What really impressed me was how she could get the look down on the first try, which was great for my mom and my bridesmaids since they didn’t have a chance to do a trial like I did. Her work made me feel so beautiful while looking natural as well. I am considering taking her personal makeup classes because of her amazing makeup skills!

  Great for soft, romantic aesthetic

  I hired Kelly to do my makeup and hair for my engagement session as well as my wedding day. What drew me to her was her portfolio, which showcased the soft, romantic aesthetic that I love.
  
  I regularly wear makeup, but I know wearing makeup for the camera is totally different so I wanted a professional to handle my bridal makeup. Some women may be surprised how much makeup is needed to create that effortless, flawless look! However, the makeup Kelly did for me never felt heavy and it came out nicely on camera. I asked for a more bold, colorful makeup look for my engagement while I asked for a more natural, radiant look for my wedding day.
  
  I loved the hairstyles that Kelly did for both my engagement and wedding day. I showed her some inspiration photos, but also told her to do what she thought was most suitable for me. I thought both hairstyles came out great! Kelly really worked her magic on my straight and fine hair.
  
  On my wedding day, Kelly and her assistant Nadia also did makeup and hair for my bridesmaids, mother and mother in law, and touch up and hair for my husband. Everyone looked really good and I think the moms were especially happy with their makeup and hair.
  
  Don't be afraid to tell Kelly what you'd like to do. She'll give you her honest opinion if it can be done or not. For example, she informed me that you actually don't need that much hair to do an updo! My bridesmaid had a short bob and received a very impressive messy updo from Kelly that got a lot of compliments. Also, don't be afraid to give Kelly some artistic freedom too!   I’m so glad that I chose Kelly to be my wedding day makeup artist. She had really good sense of style and was a patient listener when I explained to her what I wanted. She did two styles on me - the Chinese bridal look and the white wedding dress look. I felt completely transformed from one look to another and got lots of compliments for both. She patiently listened to what I liked for my hair and makeup and looked through photos that I had sent her.   My experience with Maria was AMAZING. Her communication skills are on point, and she completely understood and delivered my request for a fresh and dewy look on my wedding day. Neither my bridesmaids nor I wear a lot of makeup on a daily basis, so we just wanted to look like an enhanced version of our natural selves. I loved how I looked after my trial and I knew I was in excellent hands for my big day.
  
  Fast forward to my wedding - I was unfortunately super ill that day, which made me a high maintenance bride. My ceremony had to be delayed for an hour so that I could rest, and I was moving a lot slower than usual. Maria was so patient and kind, always with a warm smile on her face, even as I was eating applesauce and drinking electrolyte water WHILE she applied my makeup (probably a MUA's worst nightmare), and kept reassuring me that we could take as many breaks as I needed. With her magical skills, I transformed from pale/sickly to radiant/glowing. None of my guests could tell that I was sick, and many of the ladies wanted to know who did my makeup. With all the accommodations I needed, Maria stayed 1.5 hours longer than her scheduled end time to help me, even though I'm sure she was tired from doing 2 weddings already that day. Even after I paid her, she stayed longer to help me with an earring and bra malfunction. Her kind and calm demeanor during my hectic wedding day really saved me. She went above and beyond, and it was so clear to me that this is not just a job for her - she truly cared and wanted me to have a beautiful and happy wedding. She even texted me the next day to let me know that she was proud of me for making it through despite being sick. Thank you so much, Maria! You are an angel.

  Kelly did an amazing job with my hair and makeup! She thankfully responded to last minute plans by us, and was punctual early in the morning (6am) and ready with everything -- she brought all makeup/hair accessories with her so super easy and no hassle on my end. I showed her a picture of my dress ahead of time and sent her some examples of the kinds of hairstyles that I thought could be interesting. Ultimately I wasn't sure the exact style that would work best with me and my face shape, but left it in her hands to fix me up. I was super happy with the outcome and really felt beautiful, like a princess after she was done. I wore a traditional Chinese qipao, and being Asian, felt like Kelly would be great to do hair/makeup in a way befitting Asian eyes/skin/face shape. The makeup made me look great but was also quite natural which was perfect. Kelly would stop from time to time to check the overall progress of the makeup work, and I could tell she was really paying attention to how it all came together. Kelly designs 2 different looks for me, I know the vintage style is so difficult to make it. she doing really good and finished better than my expectation. She is so thoughtful and listens to my needs patiently.
