We had so much fun on our wedding day. Any requests we had were met with excitement and flexibility, and you can tell Kris and the team simply care and really enjoy coordinating weddings. Sonnenberg is such a unique and beautiful space and we will look forward to returning as the years continue. 10/10 would recommend!!!

Our experience at Sonnenberg Gardens was nothing short of magical. We live in San Diego, CA and found this venue from family friends. At first we were reluctant to schedule a wedding from across the country, but from the moment we first stepped onto the grounds, we knew this was where we wanted to get married—and the day itself exceeded every expectation.

The gardens are breathtaking in every direction. Our guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the property was, and it created the perfect backdrop for a classic, timeless wedding. During cocktail hour, friends and family wandered the paths, explored the rose garden, and took some of the best photos we’ve ever seen. It felt like we had an entire private estate to ourselves.

The staff were extremely kind, organized, and supportive. They answered every question leading up to the day, were flexible with our setup needs, and made everything feel seamless. Even small touches—like helping coordinate guest flow, making sure our timing stayed on track, and being available without being intrusive—made a huge difference.

Sonnenberg gives you an experience that feels elevated, elegant, and deeply personal. It’s not just a venue—it’s a place with charm and history that adds so much character to the day. Our ceremony felt intimate and meaningful, surrounded by nature and incredible scenery.

Finding a venue was first on our wedding to do list. After our first meeting for the tour of the Gardens, both we felt confident about working with Kris and Sonnenberg. It was evident that Kris and her team were organized and well prepared to handle a large wedding. All questions we asked were answered confidently and with a sense of flexibility if plans changed on the day of the wedding.
Over time, as we communicated via email, text, and phone, the staff always responded quickly. Again, building our confidence in choosing Sonnenberg as the site for our daughter’s wedding. In the days leading up to the wedding our communication increased, and Sonnenberg staff were always pleasant and had helpful suggestions while we worked through different issues. We all appreciated how well Kris and her team worked with our vendors.
There are too many positive things to list about the day of the wedding. From the minute we arrived, the Sonnenberg team was focused on us and everything going smoothly. At all times, we had a tram ready to move us and the wedding party to where they needed to be. Kris checked on us regularly to make sure all was going well as we prepared for the wedding. Our guest who needed special transportation to the wedding site was very pleased with the attention to her needs. Sonnenberg even provided a checklist to make sure we knew which guests had arrived before we started the ceremony. The wedding coordinator was so good. Everything timed to perfection. Having her there GREATLY reduced our stress. Our daughter cherishes the special pictures that Kris took during the ceremony and gave to her of the panoramic view of the wedding. We could list so much more.

Kris and her team were so kind and incredible. From booking a tour to the wedding day, they answered all of our questions and were attentive to us throughout the ceremony and reception. They truly are passionate about Sonnenberg Gardens, weddings, and the people they host!

Kris and her team were AMAZING to work with through the entire planning process. Kris was always so responsive and helpful, I couldn't have asked for more. She also let us come see the venue a couple different times so that we made sure we felt prepared for our wedding day. Truly a stunning venue, and there are endless picture backgrounds to choose from! Such an incredible team overall.

My daughter had her wedding in early October at Sonnenberg Gardens. It was a destination wedding for a group of approximately 90 all traveling from multiple states. I can’t say enough about Kris and all the help she gave us throughout the year long planning. She gave us a vendor list that we were able to utilize and choose what best fit our needs. She was available for questions and suggestions throughout the process. The day of the wedding Kris and her staff were amazing and made our guests feel so welcomed. The venue is beautiful and my daughter had her dream wedding. I would highly recommend Sonnenberg Gardens for a wedding or other events. Kris and her staff are amazing and very attentive.

We had our wedding reception at Sonnenberg and it was truly the best day ever! Kris was always so responsive and was an absolute joy to work with. The whole team at Sonnenberg was so kind and flexible, including when we had to shift our cocktail hour inside due to rain. Our guests loved being able to experience the mansion and also the stunning gardens later on! The entire venue, tent, and grounds were beautiful and we truly could not have asked for a more perfect day!

Kris Knight and her staff/volunteers made my daughters’ and son-in-laws’ wedding day absolutely everything we could have hoped for! Sonnenberg Gardens is a beautiful place in September, it was a perfect venue fit for their style, which was an elegant garden party theme. The day turned out to be gorgeous for their outdoor ceremony, and we were happy to know that if the weather turned, plan B was to have the ceremony inside the great hall of the mansion. Because Sonnenberg Gardens is a state park, it is surprisingly affordable. Everything was very organized, and the on site rehearsal the day before the ceremony made the actual wedding day less stressful. It all came together so well! I would highly recommend taking a look at this venue!

Our experience with Sonnenberg was wonderful! The process was very smooth, and Kris and Beth were incredibly helpful every step of the way with my husband’s and my wedding day. They made the entire experience so enjoyable. The venue itself is beautiful and full of character—truly a unique and special place for our big day!

I have always loved Sonnenberg, and I just had my wedding there recently! It was so well organized and ran so smoothly, it was a perfect day. The event manager Kris was wonderful during the planning and the day of, and she felt like another family member at the wedding!
